He estimated the work would take about an hour or less but never mentioned that we went over this time or communicating via email or phone would incur additional charges. Receiving a surprise invoice with these fees was frustrating and could have been avoided with better upfront communication. To his credit, he did waive some of the charges after I raised my concerns, which I appreciated. However, I believe clear disclosure of rates and billing practices is essential, especially when working with first-time clients.

If you believe it was more than the officer not showing showing up, you would be mistaken. That is the sole reason the case was thrown out. I have wasted enough time explaining facts to lawyers and attorneys. If you truely cared about truth you can start by looking in the mirror and quit lying to yourself.
