An excellent find! Nestled inside the Denver Union Station, this charming hotel welcomed us in at 1a.m. when we finally arrived last night after our delayed flight. The staff at the front desk was helpful, offering us chilled water bottles and explaining how the elevator requires a tap from our room key to operate. We immediately loved our room which combines the cool rustic vibe of a historic sleeper car on a Pullman train with all the modern amenities, including embedded reading lights on the headboard of the bed. My only critique is that the bed mattress was too squishy, but we were too tired to care too much. Great water pressure in the shower. Appreciate the blackout curtains. Complimentary water bottles in the fridge. And Cooper cocktail bottles that cost $25 each if you choose to indulge. Our hotel stay comes with discounts at various businesses inside of the Union Station, which is great also. Highly recommend! read more

It saddens me to write this review. As a rail enthusiast, I was really looking forward to our stay at the Crawford...given its location in Denver's Union Station. Unfortunately, we had a horrible experience. Started with an extremely long check-in time, being placed in an unacceptable room and finally the hotel's staff and management failing to resolve issues and making things right. Here's our experience: After arriving, we had a 45-minute wait to check in in a very small and crowded lobby. The desk clerk recognized the fact that I was using a mobility device, but she put me in a room at the far southern end of the building. We were placed in a "Loft" room that required us to climb 3 steps to access the bedroom and bath areas from a tiny foyer. We had booked a Premium Classic Room with floor to ceiling windows on the website. Sadly, the Loft room only had a tiny window several feet above the floor and of course the step issue. I contacted the front desk about both the accessibility issue and room type and was told there was nothing they could do. We were also told the hotel didn't have a restaurant and were given coupons for coffee and ice cream to use at the station's public shops. Unfortunately, in both cases the shops refused to accept the coupons. I attempted to contact the manager upon checkout and was told they weren't available. Once at home, I contacted hotel management and after several emails were told they were sorry, but they would not be willing to provide any compensation for the breakdown in room assignment, service and our unfortunate experience. The hotel is not inexpensive, which is OK if the amenities match the rate. In our case a king room for one night was $755 after the Amenities and Historic Preservation fees. read more

Our stay at The Crawford Hotel was unfortunately a very disappointing end to an otherwise wonderful vacation. Upon arrival, the hotel appeared to be severely understaffed. The lobby was extremely crowded, filled with luggage, and there was a very long line to reach the front desk. The elevator situation only added to the confusion, with long waits and guests being directed to a secondary elevator elsewhere in the station. After waiting for that elevator and riding it to our floor, we discovered there was no way to access our room from that location and had to return to the main lobby and wait all over again. When we finally reached our room, we discovered that the room type was incorrect. Our reservation clearly showed a room with two double beds, but we had been assigned a very small room with a single bed. We were also told our luggage would be waiting in our room upon arrival, but it was not there. We returned to the lobby and eventually located our luggage ourselves, buried underneath other luggage in large piles throughout the lobby area. We then had to wait approximately another 25 minutes in a line of understandably frustrated guests dealing with a variety of issues, including non-functioning key cards and incorrect room assignments. To make matters worse, while waiting in line, another guest who had become frustrated with the lengthy wait directed his anger toward me. By the time we reached the front desk, we learned that there were apparently no remaining rooms available with two beds. We were offered only a small rollaway bed in an already tiny room, along with restaurant credits at nearby establishments. Unfortunately, the room itself had additional problems. The toilet had such poor water pressure that it required multiple flushes to clear even a small amount of toilet paper, and the bathroom door did not have a lock. Mistakes can happen, but the number of issues experienced by so many guests that evening suggests that room assignments, key cards, and arrival logistics were not adequately verified in advance. This created a great deal of unnecessary stress at the end of what had otherwise been an amazing trip. I hope management investigates what happened and improves their arrival procedures so future guests do not experience the same issues. read more

Great experience staying at The Crawford. The design of the hotel is incredible as well as the touches that accentuate the historical vibes of the property. Rooms are well insulated from the noise and it's a really great experience relaxing in Union Station before heading up to your room. Great location in the heart of Denver with excellent amenities from the Union Station proprietors including use of the gym facilities at The Oxford Club across the street, free coffee and free ice cream, as well as free lift drives within 2 miles. What a beautiful place! Just stayed the night to hop the train into the mountains the next day, and it was absolutely perfect for that. Honestly, with the lack of closet/dresser space, much more than one night might be kind of tough. Gracie, the concierge, was absolutely fantastic. She set up a car service from the airport (E from BOLD Transportation was great!) and having free happy hour, coffee and transportation up to 2 miles from the hotel were also huge plusses! I highly recommend this hotel. We were able to arrange a car pick up from the airport. They transport for free anywhere within 2 miles. They have a cocktail hour and you get a free coffee from the coffee place next door. Overall the Crawford staff were kind and check in was quick. We had a wonderful experience at the Crawford. Theyre built inside the train station in Denver, and they've recently went through a remodel so the rooms and accommodations are even better than our first stay. They started our visit with an email beforehand asking us if we needed anything. Gracie was excellent to speak with and made sure we were taken care of ahead of our stay. We also spoke with Blake and he made sure our humidifer was in the room. During our stay, we spoke with Cole and Auberry who were super accommodating as well. Cole helped give us local recommendations and arranged for our local concierge transportation. He definitely made us feel at home. We loved the lobby music and happy hour cocktail. The room was beautiful, and very comfortable. The beds and bathroom were both very clean and we felt like we were at a 5 Star the entire time. Their restaurant downstairs was super good and worth a try. They have a fun atmosphere and almost anything you choose is a safe bet. We look forward to our next stay! read more

I was visiting with my 2 yr old and the hotel was late with check in and they had to give us a different darker more cavernous setup. Next I would have to highlight the lack of in room snacking options and the very expensive and especially average in room dining served in plastic to go containers. Thank You for taking hot soup and placing it in plastic so it can bond with the plastic container so we can add additional plastic particles to our bodies when we consume hot food....awesome. The late and great Dana Crawford would probably roll over in her grave! Finally, I would say the staff called my phone repeatedly when my toddler was falling asleep even though I had a do not disturb hanging on my door. Overrated and overpriced. read more

When I was planning my trip to Denver, Crawford seemed like an ideal fit. What better place to stay, for a transit enthusiast, than a train station converted into a hotel. Well, I'm happy to say the experience lived up to my expectations. First, it was a joy taking the train from the airport, door to door to the hotel. Check-in was a breeze. We chose the loft room and I was happy with the selection. While I guess there are technically 'nicer' rooms at the hotel, the loft style was large and quiet (although you would hear the train bells from time to time.) It has a king bed, a nice skylight in the bathroom, and other standard amenities. Speaking of which, the resort fee here actually gets you stuff! Daily, you can take advantage of a small cup of coffee from the on-site Pigtrain coffee, a beer at the Terminal bar, a scoop ice cream from the creamery, and a few other things we didn't take advantage of (such as transportation within a 2 mile radius of the hotel.) Part of the reason we didn't use the latter is because it was so easy to get around, having many buses and light rails all at the Union Station hub. While the frequency of transit in Denver does leave something to be desired, the routes were generally convenient and daily transportation costs max out at $6. Would definitely stay here again if I returned to Denver. read more

When we arrived we were warmly welcomed by the Front Desk Manager Auberry and Front Desk Agent Katy. Auberry explained all of the aspects of our experience and explained the history of the hotel as she escorted us to the elevator that would take us to our unbelievably stunning room where a thoughtful card and an amenity awaited me. It was a challenge to get out of the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, the shower was outrageously awesome and everything else about the room was stellar as well. The hotel is housed in the city's historic railway station and is essentially a travel hub for Denver. It's without any doubt one of the greatest hotels we've ever had the privilege of staying at, and it's certainly one of the best parts of our short trip to Denver which offers a unique and exciting travel buzz. Great location in Lodo. Booked via AMEX so got a great hotel credit for valet (over $50 a day). Took a red eye and left my bags early (9am and was told I would get a call when the room was ready). Booked a basic queen room so was expecting this (AMEX allows for upgrades if available). Was out all day but tired and around 3:30PM went to check to see if the room was ready. It was and I was a little upset I didn't get a call and had to check in. Upgrade was large, top floor, 2 bathrooms and great view of Wynkoop street. Worth the wait? I was tired and didn't care about a massive room for myself. Staff was nice over all, valet was helpful as well. Would recommend for those coming from out of town to stay here. read more

Bottom Line: Comfortable room and excellent location inside Denver's Union Station. My husband and I stayed at The Crawford Hotel for three nights in early October and we really enjoyed our stay. We chose The Crawford Hotel because I like history, architecture and trains. We also both like funky, boutique style hotels in historic buildings. The Crawford Hotel squarely met all of that criteria and was in a very convenient location. We enjoyed being within walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops. Also, there were several restaurants, shops and eateries within Denver Union Station that we enjoyed too. When departing Denver it was easy to jump on the A-line light rail train to the airport. Since we would be there for three nights and celebrating our anniversary we wanted a bigger room so we booked a LoDo Suite through USAA's Travel Rewards service. Ultimately, a LoDo Suite was not available for our stay but Jane was able to book us in a very comparable suite which we immensely enjoyed. Kudos to Jane! We appreciated the unique features of the room - vaulted and angled ceilings, changes in elevation (stairs) in the room, and the building's original beams making a welcome appearance. Our suite had a large entrance area, comfortable living room, King sized bed and very large bathroom. We liked that the TV flawlessly swiveled from the living room to the bedroom. It was a very comfortable room. The hotel charges an amenity fee that I believe was $25 a day. The amenity fee includes a daily scoop of ice cream per guest at Milkbox Ice Creamery, daily coffee at PigTrain, a Tesla car service within a 2 mile radius Thursday through Monday, in room internet, priority seating at Snooze and some other things that we didn't take advantage of. In general I am not a big fan of amenity or resort fees but for once I actually feel like I got some value out of what was included so it didn't really ruffle my feathers this time. What cemented our stay at The Crawford Hotel being a five-star experience was the incredible customer service and personal attention we received from Jane. I stay in hotels frequently and I can't recall when I came across someone in the hospitality industry as personable, helpful, organized and engaged as Jane. She's a gem! read more

I love this hotel! Great location for dining and theatre. Katie and Auberry were so helpful with check-in. They are awesome. The valet was also friendly and kind. Union Station is under construction and the hotel is next to be updated. It isn't impacting operations at all, and we had a wonderful stay. A heads up that the Pullman rooms are tiny so book a regular room or suite is my recommendation. Breakfast at Snooze is the best. Tavernetta for dinner. The history of this hotel is wonderful. Holidays here are also very festive and fun. I stay here when going to Performing Arts, Ellie Caulkins, and Buell. It's in a prime location. read more

Ok - wow! Booked here for a couple of reasons: close to Denver's light rail and within walking distance to Coors Field - the real purpose of our trip. Jumped on the train at the airport and got off here. With the construction happening at Union Station it was little difficult to navigate to the front desk. But once we did we were escorted to the elevators. Up to the floor and into a hallway that belies what's on the other side of room doors. Our room was huge, bottle of wine waiting for us. Small sitting area, huge sleeping area. The bathroom could have been another room. The shower was double the size of most home showers, separate large tub. It's complete with a pair of robes. I liked the exposed beams and view of the street. Window is small, a remnant of the buildings original purpose. Price was about average for the quality of room. Everything is pretty much within walking distance. This one was a good choice. read more

I was completely speechless when we first arrived. The train station/restaurant/hotel is absolutely stunning. I loved walking in and seeing all the restored details. The check team could not have been nicer especially since we arrived well before our checkin time allowed. The accommodations at the Crawford hotel are very nice. The staff needs improvement on Customer Service. I would not return due to the plethora of taxes and fees and parking which accounted for about 33% of the overall bill. The location is good, but don't plan on spending much time inside this train station as there are a lot of sketchy people about. Security was good, however. But not what I expected. Valet parking works very well and the attendants were great, but it's a bit of a walk from the sidewalk into the hotel that I was not expecting at this price point. $$$$ read more

I booked this hotel through my American Express, platinum card and it is rated as a 4+ star hotel. The room was like a dungeon as we were put at the very end of the hallway and for the amount we paid, we should've at least been able to get a full size ironing board. Here are a few pictures of what I had to do to try to iron clothes. The curtains are so high we were not able to open or close them so the room was extremely dark. I ordered room service for breakfast at 9 AM thinking I was not going to leave until 11am. By 10 AM I called down and told them that I still had not had my breakfast delivered and they said they would make sure it was sent right up, they finally showed up at 10:30 am and delivered a completely wrong order that I was not able to eat. I was told it was because the restaurant was backed up. I told them I understand it may be backed up, but I should have been told that from the very beginning as I would've made sure I did not order room service and made other arrangements. read more

The Crawford is a beautiful hotel in a historic building. We stayed a night in their Pullman rooms on the second floor. The art-deco room is elegant and very comfortable. The rich light and dark wood furniture and accents transports you the luxurious golden times of train travel. The bathroom is appointed with light marble tile. If you have a creative mind, lay on the comfy bed and imagine that this first class Pullman car is whisking you to your final destination. Upon check-in, you receive a complimentary beer and the Terminal bar. The next morning, you get a cup of coffee at the Pig Train cafe downstairs. The Union Station location is convenient to everything. Our room was on the second floor right above the train platform. The room was well insulated from outside noise. The in-room small fridge, Nespresso machine, and high-quality notions made our stay more enjoyable. The train and travel theme of the hotel created a wonderful first class experience. We stayed here back in August since we were in town to go to a Rockies game. The Crawford Hotel is only a few blocks from the ballpark, so it's an ideal place to stay to see a game. The hotel is within Union train station itself and there's valet out front, but I would highly recommend avoiding the valet as it took absolutely forever due to get our car due to short staffing. Our room was small, but nice overall, and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was also fantastic and I love whenever there's a rain shower. The room was surprisingly quiet despite being in the train station and it was a nice place to stay overall! There's a few perks to staying here as well. You can rent a Tesla to travel around the city, get a free pint from the Terminal Bar, get free coffee, and get free ice cream. Enjoy the perks! read more

We stayed at the Crawford Hotel for five nights as a part of a Colorado tour/vacation. The hotel is located in the Denver Union Station along with coffee shops, restaurants, and lounges. The station alone is beautifully restored and maintained. The restaurants were all amazing. The room was tastefully decorated and very clean. Floors are all secure with keycard access only. Staff were all polite and helpful. Rooms are all outfitted with a smart tablet that allows you to order valet, concierge, and order food within Union Station. The hotel also offers a little Polaroid camera for use in Denver. The shower is killer. Big huge rain shower and large bathrooms. Check out the Coopers lounge as well for excellent cocktails and if you're looking for brunch head over to Snooze. Lattes were well made at Pigtrain. The cons were the Covid restrictions that prevent staff from entering room. So that means no room cleaning and everything has to be called to concierge. All in all it was an excellent stay. read more

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here before we boarded the Zephyr the next morning. Boarding the train was a super easy walk from the hotel, much of it covered. As it sits within Union Station, we liked how it surrounds the terminal and is bustling with travelers and urban diners alike. There was many choices for restaurants nearby. The rooms have historical elements and the interior designer did an excellent job fusing historical- with modern touches. It's pricey--if not for the room fee itself but the taxes are really something. Our rate was $269 per night but $341 after all the taxes were added. We had an oversized bathroom with a fantastic luxury shower. The short staircase in our room was cool but it could have used some lights (on the floor perhaps) for nighttime bathroom visits. read more

I was stoked to stay here! We were traveling with our pup and I called three times prior to arrival to confirm our dog was included on the reservation & the room would be ready for her. Apart of the dog fee, the hotel was supposed to provide a decent list of amenities for our dog & that alone was a huge part of why we decided to splurge at this dog friendly hotel. We had flight delays and landed late at night. Check in was prompt, and we headed up to our room. To be greeted by.....none of the dog amenities we were expecting. So I called the front desk and they said they had no record of the dog or request. And that they couldn't access the items until the morning. Upset was an understatement, since I tried to make this stay for my dog seamless, comfortable and enjoyable. When we checked in, none of the amenities that needed to be requested a day prior was communicated to us. So we thought we could snag breakfast in the station and join the express check-in (a perk of staying at this location). That amenity was not offered to us because we didn't communicate the day prior. All in all the room was fabulous but if you're traveling with a dog or plan on utilizing the amenities. Arrived to the lobby of the Crawford Hotel with my laptop to grab a seat. Needed WiFi to do some work, heard this place has a vibrant space for that. Pretty awesome, plenty of eateries and drinks for a full meal or just refreshments. Interesting, vintage, interior and furniture, strong WiFi, plenty seats and power outlets. Only thing is that people (travelers) are sleeping on the couches which isn't that big of a deal since this is connected to a main train station. A few homeless people seem to be inside camping out as well. Some guys on drugs were pretty distracting as they continued to say hello to me when I was trying to get some work done. Good place minus that part. Otherwise, most people seem pretty focused and serious. The ones that are lounging look happy and keep the vibes upbeat instead of serious from the laptop people working like me. Would come back. We just wrapped up our stay at The Crawford and did not want to lose a minute before raving about this amazing establishment. From the moment we stepped foot onto the plaza in front of the hotel, to our seamless check-in experience, to the actual room itself, our experience was top notch! We'd like to give a special shout out to Lara who delighted us with extra special surprises. Upon arrival, we were thrilled to learn we'd been upgraded to a Crawford Suite. The room layout is perfect for any traveler, but particularly if you are a couple traveling with a toddler. There's plenty of space for everyone! The suite has everything, including its own fully stocked bar (with dishwasher!), assorted bitters + top shelf spirits, in addition to boardgames and beautiful coffee table books. Other thoughtful touches include an aromatherapy diffuser, spa-worthy waffle weave robes + slippers, and makeup remover wipes. We couldn't be more pleased with our experience at The Crawford. In fact, my husband remarked that we could have literally limited our entire visit to the confines of this hotel and its exquisite bars and restaurants...there is just so much to do onsite.
