They are a local, family run business. Great for a last minute need...a pair of cleats that my daughter outgrew or a pair of baseball pants my son outgrew. If they don't have it, they do their best to get the item if they can...and quickly. They also do printing on shirts to personalize. Also, a great place to get some local swag! So far, in dealing with this store, things have been mostly good. The staff are really helpful in picking the right shirts and working with logos and graphics we provided. Unfortunately, they have trouble getting items to us in the time promised. We haven't done any huge orders, so it's possible that other large orders bumped us back in line. That isn't really a problem since we never wait until the very last moment to put in orders, but it would be nice if they called us to let us know when there would be delays instead of us going there only to find our merchandise wasn't ready. The quality of what we bought, though, was very good so we will most likely continue using them. read more

I've had to place orders with Thompsons for the past 5 years and they are horrible! Last year I asked them to change "shipping" to "pickup" less than 24 hrs after the order was placed and they would not. The High School store was not going to close for two more weeks, yet they refused. This year is no better. One backpack, one sweatshirt, one lacrosse skirt. Shipping over $25. Asked to speak with manager. He came on the phone and yelled over me. Told me repeatedly that "I know what you're going to say" Amazing. Told me to go ahead and leave a report at the BBB, he did not care. I did leave a report. Next year I am going to campaign to have GR HS lacrosse use Custom Ink. I've used them before many times. Awesome customer service, free shipping. I can't wait. I might finally never have to deal with Thompson's again. May they receive the same horrid customer service and price gauging then dish out. read more

I have used Thompson's for various sports programs, both for uniforms and online team stores. They have always been a pleasure to work with and a big help with product suggestions and logos. One of the main things is that they can produce 1 to 100 items, a huge plus as most uniform and embroidery places have minimums on apparel items. Parents of our players love it because they always offer sizing samples at their store for the players to try on before placing their order. With it being a family business, I've interacted with either Bob, Keith or Jill Thompson and they all seem to go the extra mile to make sure everything is on point. When everything seems to be done over the Internet now, it's nice to use a local small business that has been around for a long time and comes through consistently. read more

online shoppers beware! i just placed an order online which was recorded twice - when I IMMEDIATELY called to clarify this obvious electronic error Thompson's Sporting Goods charged 10% refund fee - they say this happens all the time and they always charge customers for their error, even if the order has not been processed and they did not incur any costs. I think this is shoddy business practice for a local vendor. i hope the quality of their merchandise is better than their customer service. If it wasn't that my daughter's team has already placed a big order I'd take make business elsewhere. read more

I WOULD NEVER USE THIS STORE!!! I ordered uniforms for my daughters in June and still have not received them. Now because of their incompetence my kids cannot play in a field hockey tournament. On my way to my son's tryouts and we realized that he left his cleats home... quickly searched for a local sports store near Rt 24 and Thompson's came up. What a great find! They were friendly and helpful with fitting for a pair of last minute cleats and shin guards. And we didn't have to spend a fortune to get great quality! Would give Negative Starts if I could! Stay away if you have ANY respect for yourself. Pretty bad attitudes all around in here. Keith Thompson, the Director of Operations is the most unfriendly, unhelpful, person I have ever met. No only did they fail to get my order right, they added charges to my bill that were never even mentioned to me. Dont even get me started on the poor quality of their embroidery. Its really a shame, I love to shop at local stores and support local commerce but I will never be back in this store again. I thought I was dealing with a disgruntled employee, little did I know he was the owner. If I wanted to be treated like this, I would go to the DMV. read more
