2012 Update Despite the doom-mongers warning me that the park would be horribly busy on a bank holiday weekend, I braved Thorpe Park yesterday. In the event, the weather was dry and definitely better than today and the park was actually empty - perhaps people were watching the Derby/at Jubilee street parties or away as it's half term I got a nasty shock when I was asked whether I wanted a £4 parking ticket at the ticket booth. To be fair, I had been expecting Thorpe Park to charge for parking after Alton Towers started doing it but there are no signs telling you about this car parking charge as you drive in Just a word about ticket prices. The full price adult ticket at the gate is £42 but there are always all sorts of offers for 2 for 1 tickets or to get tickets through the supermarket loyalty schemes. If you can't get one of those, try and get a group discount if you're in a large group or be organised - you get 40% discount if you book 2 weeks beforehand through the Thorpe Park website www.thorpepark.com A nice touch was that they opened the park and and started running the rides 15 minutes before the advertised opening time of 10am. At the end of day, you were allowed to join ride queues before the advertised closing time of 6pm I headed straight over to Swarm, the park's new coaster. It's the UK's first winged coaster where the seats are attached to the train on prongs sticking out on either side. This leaves your feet dangling. The new area is decorated very nicely with a disaster theme of aliens having attacked the park - there's a blown up fire engine and helicopter in the area though beware that the fire engine's water cannon still has enough life in it to get you wet! Swarm was good but it still can't dislodge Stealth from the top of my personal chart As mentioned before, the park was quiet and by 12pm, I had ticked off all the coasters in the park - Stealth, Colossus, Saw and Nemesis Inferno as well as a host of other rides. Queue times didn't exceed 30 minutes all day on any ride though I have to say that some of the ride queue times advertised on the indicator boards at the ride entrances and on information boards round the park were a tad inaccurate One disappointment was that the 4D cinema isn't running at all this year. Sadface. Though it's still relatively early on in the season, there was also no show going on in the outdoor theatre and I didn't see any signs promoting forthcoming shows or waterskiing shows on the lake which I've seen in previous years. Perhaps they'll come on later I was very pleased to see that there were no breakdowns unlike on my previous visits. Logger's Leap was down for awhile but they did get it back up and running by the afternoon The food at the BBQ place round the back of the park was decent - had some nice ribs. Another little treat I can recommend is a bag of freshly made warm donuts Well done, keep it up. Their Merlin annual pass is also now better value, having added London Dungeons and Legoland to their existing stable of the London Eye, Madame Tussauds, Warwick Castle, Chessington World of Adventures and Alton Towers

I have to confess, I have the weakest constitution I know. I fear nothing, but it only took a couple of rollercoasters to have me clutching my stomach. So, the fact that I had an amazing day, despite several hours feeling sea sick is testimony to the Park. Yee Gan has given a description of many of the rides, so I won't repeat everything he has said, other than to add SAW is AMAZING! All of the rollercoasters are fantastic. One thing Thorpe Park does extremely well is keep patrons updated of queue times. Not only are there times at the start of each queue, but digital display boards around the park telling queue times of all the rides, so you can head to the ride with the shortest wait. These times are really accurate! Phil and I went during the summer holidays, and our longest wait was 20 minutes (exactly what the board said) for the SAW. You also have the choice to queue for the front seats. I can imagine on the hottest day mid summer these queues get quite big, but we nearly always took this choice, adding only a few minutes to each wait, but certainly making the ride more enjoyable. Most rides offer the chocie to buy photos. At £7 each, its a tad expensive, but £20 for 5 is better value. That said, you could end up with 5 identical photos. My expression rarely changes at 60mph, so use the option of keyrings or magnets instead of photos. I have 3 photos and one of each of the smaller options. There is a wide choice of food options, and it isn't cheap, but isn't expensive for a theme park. Head to the Glass House to get away from the kids. I have to agree with Yee Gan that it appears the vast majority of patrons are chavvy teenagers. On the shuttle bus from Staines station (runs every half an hour (£2 return for children, £3 for adults)) I heard the f*** word so frequently I thought one offender had Tourettes, and another was stuttering the letter f. NOT something I would recommend to any family with even a scrap of decency. In the park however, it is big enough you don't notice them all the time, and full of families who have driven there. I am going to give the park 4 stars. The only downside is the clientele, which isn't the Park's fault so much as society's. Parents, go with your children for f***'s sake! Awesome day! Enjoy!

When my cousin mentioned that she wanted to take me to a theme park while I was visiting, I was a little sketchy. I'm a veteran of Six Flags parks in America so I was wondering what kind of "scary" roller coasters Thorpe Park would have to offer. I was pleasantly surprised. Although the weather was pretty dreary (as expected), we still had a blast. We started the day off by going on a small but enjoyable roller coaster that seemed to go around and around for days. It was such a small roller coaster that I couldn't stop laughing during the entire ride. We also went on a water ride which probably wasn't the best idea in the world considering the weather, but even though we got reasonably soaked we still made the most of it! The two rides that stood out to me the most were definitely Saw and Stealth. Stealth looked like a breeze, but the experience was somewhat different. The coaster shoots you off towards a steep hill which you climb at super speed, and then you go straight down the other side. It's basically a huge arch that you go up and over at crazy speed. I sat towards the front so I definitely got blasted with high winds. Saw is based off of the movie. There was a giant line to get on it, but it actually went quite fast. There are 4 people to a car, which makes them pretty small and adds to the speed. You start off by riding into a dark room. You can't see anything for a few seconds. And then suddenly you see that goofy looking Saw puppet come riding out on his tricycle and I thought to myself, "This ride is going to be lame." I was wrong because as soon as the puppet is finished preaching with his little, "I want to play a game, etc." speech, you shoot off and go straight down and you still aren't able to see anything. Then you are outdoors and go down the infamous straight-down drop, which I will admit scared me at first but once I actually experienced it, it was so much fun! Thorpe Park was a blast and I'm glad that my cousin took me. The rides were actually decent and I was scared on a couple of them which really surprised me. And of course we bought a bag of fresh, hot doughnuts to snack on while walking around the park. Those were a tasty treat!

There are times when you want a peaceful Saturday afternoon activity; something you can do which relaxes you and chills you out for the rest of the weekend. However, on one of those Saturdays when this isn't your prerogative, Thorpe Park is a great option. The rides are unbelievably good- much better than those at the other theme park reachable from London, Chessington World of Adventures, which is quite a snooze-fest if I'm honest- with roller coasters like Stealth, the tallest roller coaster in Europe, and the new Saw ride with an 100degree drop. Wow. Not one to ride on if you've had a heavy night on Friday. There are plenty of eating and drinking options throughout, most of which inevitably veer towards the junkier end of the food groups, but the selection is welcome. As with all theme parks, Thorpe Park is definitely on the pricey side at £35 for entry- although there are a lot of deals going round from WHSmith, Tesco and Sainsburys so you should be able to get in half price- and the option for fast-track tickets which miss out the queues for the bigger rides at £3 per ride, but when you step off of one of the roller coasters with your heart beating, your stomach churning and your throat raw from screaming it somehow all seems worth it.

Thorpe Park can be the best day out that you can have, just a short distance from London. Take the train towards Staines, then the little Thorpe Park bus and you are there. Huge fun park with plenty of roller coasters for everyone. Either you go with you niece/nephew or just with friends, you will have fantastic time. Rides are regularly changing so even doing multiple visits within a year, it is absolutely worth it. Last addition to the park; Derren Brown's ghost train- what an experience! Immersive action combined with special effects and virtual reality that rocks! Near Halloween period, the park is hosting the popular Fright Nights when it stays open till late having plenty of scary attractions that is so much fun for adults. The annual pass worth every penny of it - A must if you are a thrill seeker!

I've had a very amusing day at Thorpe park today and I strongly advise the rides there for thrill seekers, we arrived 2 hours after opening time and still had enough time to go round nearly all the rides. I started of with stealth as people told me it was the best ride and after I rode it, it defiantly is the best ride there, I went on it 2 times later on. It's not long at all 19 seconds to be exact but it's very scary, the que for this is very long but it doesn't take too long to get in the cart, the operators managed to get all the people in the cart very quickly working with 2 carts one after the other. The staff were helpful and fun to ride with After stealth I went on nemesis, and again the que was long but went down pretty quick as the staff got people in the ride as fast as they could, nemesis is a excellent ride for people who want to feel like they can fly. After nemesis I qued up for rush, rush was really not worth the wait of 45 minuets considering it was over in 5-6 swings, but the quality of the ride is brilliant. I qued up for slammer for about 1h and finally I got a seat on the ride, I sat down and put my harness on and about 5 minuets of sitting there, the operator said the ride was closed for "technical difficulties", I was so disappointed, it was a waste of my time even queuing if the ride was so unreliable. The food there was way overly priced, £4 for a hot dog and £2 for a Capri sun, but the quality of the food was not to bad. Colossus was probably my second favourite, yes you do bang your head but that's the whole fun of it, the corkscrew part was my favourite because it made you feel as if you were flying in a spiral sequence, defiantly worth the 1:30h wait. Timber falls was amazing, the wait for short (10m) and the drop was extreme, yes you got soaked but that's the fun of it, and on a hot day that's what you need. 2 hours waiting to go on swarm was 100% not worth it, the ride was OK but it wasn't fantastic, it was over in a flash and it wasn't particularly great. Saw and samurai were shut for no reason which I found pretty out of order, they shut the ride so they need less people to operate on it which is their was of gaining money, I really wanted to go on both of these rides and I was disappointed that they were closed. Overall I had a great day out at Thorpe park, I would recommend getting fast track tickets as you would get on all the rides with it, the staff were nice and the public didn't seem to bad, I will give it a 4 star rating from my opinion, I'm Peter 15 years old who loves rides.

Coleslaw was amazing, Chips were tasty and the burger was top notch! Cut down on the waiting time and it'll be perfect!

Great day out for all the family and you can stay here all day. Best get here early to get in and start to queue. We opted to buy a annual pass as it allows you entrance to all merlin attractions including alton towers and madame tussauds. There are a great variety of rides and attractions available for all of the family all included within the admission fee. Prepare to have a wait for the more popular rides during peak times. All the staff are friendly and accommodating to all needs. Food is a little pricey but you have to expect it at major attractions. Great day out read more

I went to Thorpe Park for 2 days in June (2010) I am glad we went for 2 days and not 1 or we would have been a bit disappointed as 90% of your day is queuing. This has a lot to do with going on a Sunday in summer, what can you expect but to Queue in that case?! We hoped for a quieter day on the Monday but unfortunately that was a school inset day so it was jam packed with teenagers haha.. (remind me to plan better next time!!) Food is ridiculously expensive. ( as all Theme park food is.. amazes me seeing as they charge so much to actually get in the park!) My advice is to take food with you if you don't want to pay over the odds. They should also be sued for the fact that the donuts they sell look NOTHING like the picture on the stall wall! Nice fat, light puffy donuts.. mouth watering? Not a chance.. they resemble wet onion rings! Yuck. On the 2nd day we ran straight down to 'STEALTH' the minute the doors opened and managed to get 2 rides in very quickly before the queue was miles long. I have to say i have never been more scared on any ride when i sat in that seat the first time and I am not very easily scared! I liken it to a bungee jump.. you know you want to do it but every inch of you tells you its a bad idea. ;-) Well worth it though.. keep your eyes open and take in the experience, its over fast! I thought SAW was over rated, the scary ( I use the word loosely ) bit was the beginning climb, the actually drop is not very high as its set up on higher ground than the climb. One thing that REALLY got to me was the sheer volume of smokers there. There is a no smoking in the queues policy but NON of the staff actually stopped people lighting up from what we could see. I was stuck behind 2 teenage lads smoking roll ups for the entire hour and a half queue for RUSH.. are the staff blind?! We also think that the fact there is a little 'beach' and seaside area at the park isn't well enough advertised on the Thorpe Website.. there was a family with 3 little children that we spoke to in the long queue for a drinks refill that said they had no clue about the beach and hadn't brought swimming things for the children which they would have done if it had been advertised properly on the web site. We agreed that we had no clue it was there either. As for drinks refills.. there is not enough of these stalls, we had to search for one on several occasions. A few more of them would be nice Thorpe! Thorpe now charge for parking £2.00 per car. Just another money making scheme on top of very high admission fees. We bough 2 day tickets online which was a lot cheaper than buying on the day and stayed at a local travel lodge that was only £19 per room on a Sunday :-) The rides broke down often which was frustrating if you had already queued for an hour and a half! I hate that theme parks now have fast track tickets.. who likes to see rich teenagers stroll past you filling seats up when you have queued for 2 hours for your ride? haha No one! Warning - this park is for thrill seekers, its not great for young kids, I could see a lot of frustrated parents as the little kid ride area is AWFUL! LAME! and not much for the little ones to do. I'd say go to Chesington if you have youngsters. 3 stars for the thrill of the rides. 2 stars for the food costs/queues/not good for young kids Would I go again? err.. maybe in 5 years if they get new rides but I'm in no rush to. read more

A really fun, adrenaline filled day out. The roller coasters here are seriously scary and therefore well worth queuing for. In the school holidays these queues are usually horrific, but if you manage to avoid peak times queues can be almost entirely avoided. There's rides for everyone- roller coasters, fair type rides, lots of children's rides etc. There's usually good deals to be found on the internet which mean you often get two for one entry. By far the best theme park around London. Just remember to bring some serious waterproof clothing if you plan on going anywhere near the water ride as the splash is ridiculous. read more

This can be a very busy park and full of coach parties of loud teenagers. There are some huge rides here and more suited to older children generally. There is the usual selection of fast food outlets and nothing much in the way of healthy eating. Having said that is is a good day out on a sunny day and pleasant to sit on the beach and enjoy the water rides. Worth looking out for 2 for 1 offers as it is expensive for a family day out. read more

This is a good fun day out for the whole family. Lots of different types of rides. those that are seeking thrills and those of us who prefer something more sedate. I feel the price to get in is very expensive especially if you are an average family with more than one child. We used Tesco clubcard vouchers and got in for a fraction of the price. Or wait until you get 2for1 vouchers in the paper. I don't think it is worth the £100+ to get in otherwise. There are roller coasters, water rides, things to watch etc.. There are places to eat inside at not too unreasonable prices, this is much easier than carrying around your food bags all day. Queues are a pain, but there are always going to be queues at a theme park. You can buy tickets which fast track you but when we went there were queues on these too, not so sure they are worth the extra money. Whatever you do, go and enjoy the day, you will enjoy it and the kids will too. read more

A theme park of fame, Thorpe Park can be found in Chertsey. It offers rides and excitement for all the family and is a popular destination for those from near and far. There is a large number of very well known rides, from Vortex to Samurai to Detonator to Collosus. There is a quality restaurant and even a McDonalds for the children. Though the prices are a little high, season tickets can be bought and if you have a job there, you get discount which is always a bonus. read more

Great Theme Park, but could do with better customer service!, some staff are rude and unhelpful, on the food side of things don't use any of the chain restaurants in the park a massive rip off, if you're looking for good food at a decent price in the park use their own restaurant. I really enjoyed the rides, hardly any queues could do with more variety though, overall good park. read more

Some friends and I went to Thorpe Park with tickets that a friend kindly gave us as he works there. As a sign of appreciation, we decided to pay him a certain amount of money, he did not ask for it. My sister was wearing a Thorpe Park jacket as it was pouring down with rain and it was freezing, security guards followed us around the park and just as we were entering the ride we were made to get off. Soon after we were escorted off the island and even though we had done nothing wrong we were still made to leave. The staff were rude and arrogant as we were also there with a disabled person. I was extremely embarrassed as i have never been in such a situation. Take into consideration that i am only 13... read more

The rides there are amazing. End Of. But the problem with Thorpe Parkare the queues. They are so long. A two hour long wait for Stealthwhich is 10 seconds long! Its outragous. But Overall its amazing. Its more for Teenagers and over bacause of the big rides, but thats ok because there are some small rides. i reccomend it completely. Great day out! read more

The best theme park in the UK by far! Host to the 4th fastest roller-coaster in the UK, Thorpe park is exhilarating all year round. Next year, a new themed ride is opening called saw the ride, themed around SAW. Currently, thorpe park has 4 great roller-coasters - stealth, nemesis inferno, x no way out and colossus. Queues can be of up to 3 hours for the bigger rides but there are rides for thrill seekers, the family and everyone else! Located about an hour from london, his is the best theme park in the uk by far! read more

We booked to stay at Thorpe Park for at the Touring Park when we arrived we spent a long time looking for a warden to show us were to pitch. We were not given a key for the showers and toilet rooms. We were sorry when we did get the keys as the showers were disgusting with drains in the showers backing up so you were showering in someone elses dirty water. Toilets were rotten dirty, and never got cleaned properly. Family shower room was unusable. Complaints were completely ignored. It cost £50.00 per night and the worst was to come. Once it went dark we were confronted drunken abusive youths who made it impossible to get to sleep until well after 2am. We stayed there until Thursday when we'd had enough of the bad service from the Park Staff who ignored everything you complained about. The total lack of security and watching youths run riot and commit criminal damage and theft from the cars and caravans. Would not recommend. read more

It would be a great place to go if there weren't such long queues. We have been on a number of occasions and have wasted half of the day queuing. The last time we went, we paid extra for fast track tickets (which I feel is a disgusting thing to have to do but a necessary evil if you don't want to queue for an hour for a ride that takes 2 minutes) We got to the front of the queue having handed in our fast track tickets, the ride was then shut down for safety reasons and they refused to give us our fast track tickets back that we had paid for. I wrote to customer relations and told them that I was very unhappy; they offered me 2 fast track passes for the next time we visit. There were 8 of us! I think the whole thing is a huge money making exercise for the owners and has left me very angry. We won't be going again. read more

a weekend away seemed like a great idea, we got there it was ok, we checked in it was ok, as soon as we got into the caravan i had to clean, there were cobwebs from about 5 years ago the kitchen tap drove me mad as it was dripping the full time we spent there. i reported it but no one came to sort it while we were still there so i dont even know if it got done. read more

Thorpe Park is a big theme park with lots of rides and attractions. It is good for a family day out and I have been there with my children lots of times. The only thing is that there are long queues for a lot of the rides, so you can waste hours queuing. On some of the rides such as the log flumes, you can get soaking wet, so it is worth buying a waterproof poncho unless it is a scorching hot day so that you clothes will dry out quickly anyway. Some of the rides have height restrictions or are not advised for pregnant women etc. Some of the bigger rides such as Stealth are too scary for me to go on, but if you like an adrenaline rush, then this might be for you. If you like going to places like this and would go a few times in a year then it is well worth buying a season ticket. read more

I went here every year for school trips while I was at school. We would arrive at about 11 and leave about 4. In that time we would only get on about 3 rides if we were lucky. The queue times are ridiculous. 3 hours for Stealth (a 10 second ride which was awesome btw!) other than the waiting times and the amount of £££ spent on food and photos it's a nice day out with family and friends. The Colossus is pretty cool too. Do not go on it if you're kind of on the big side. Not to be mean but there was and incident last year where a woman and her child has to get off the ride because the mother couldn't fit underneath the harness. I really felt it for her so to save you the embarrassment make sure you try the seat they normally have before you queue. If you do go to Thorpe Park make you leave at the crack of dawn to make sure you have the best chance of going on at least 4 of the rides. I would definitely go there again but next time I'm bringing a brolly (English weather) and a thick jacket and a packed lunch. You do get a little peckish... especially in the long queues. read more

Having been to Thorpe Park only twice so far,(which is a bit poor considering its such a great place to go for rides and fun!) I have enjoyed the atmosphere and the rides are very good but they're not for the faint hearted! If you get thrills from heights and being spun up and down on rides, this is the place to go. read more

I went to Thorpe park in April and had a great day out. It's fun for all ages and improved so much over the last 10 years. I couldn't believe how wet you got on tidal wave! I wish I brought a spare change of clothes with me. I think the driers are a bit of a rip off as they're something like £3.00, Luckily we picked a really nice sunny day and dried off pretty quick. I loved the new saw ride and would def recommend anyone going to thorpe park to go on that! Loved it!! read more

Really good place to go to on a regular basis amd well worth every penny spent on annual passes, tickets and in general the atmosphere is amazing! Been going since 2012 and every time i have gone the staff have been friendly! Rides have been excellent and the general atmosphere of my day has always been at the highest possibility! Definately worth spending an entire day there no matter what the weather! Would recommend the park to any thrill seekers out there and also people who generally live a good day out with friends, family or on their own! read more

I visited Thorpe Park for the first time with my sister last summer. As I approached the park in the car, the sight of Stealth looming up made my stomach turn. I'd never had any intention of going on it but any slight possibility that might have been lingering was killed off in that moment. I did, however, brave Colossus. It's a great ride until the corkscrew section, which seems to be more about marketing a ride with so many loops than adding anything to the experience. Unfortunately, we picked a day when Nemesis Inferno was shut so there was little else to go on. My sister went on Detonator but regretted it the moment it started. Although we had a nice time this is definitely a place for thrill seekers because if you don't like heights there's not a whole lot to do. My sister and I headed home early in the afternoon after doing a couple of the smaller rides. If you like the idea of going on Stealth, you'll love this place. I will go back but it's not the best theme park I've been to. read more

really enjoyable day out, in my opinion. im not to great with rides but i find that there is enough to amuse myself with and my mates have more than enough rides to go on. love going there! loads of restaurants around the park including burger king! read more

This is an awesome theme park with amazing rides! This place, if you're a coaster enthusiast, would be your UK's top destination. The rides I most suggest are Stealth, SAW - the ride and SWARM because they all have something uniquely thrilling elements in them. Stealth has the acceleration at the beginning, the strongest in Europe as well as a real high top hat that's 205 ft tall, SWARM has an awesome inverted drop as well as the new winged seat system, and SAW-the ride has an awesome drop that's 100 degrees steep and inside the warehouse, at the beginning of the ride there are some horrific special effects that totally enhance the whole experience. Other awesome rides include: Colossus, the world's first ten inversion roller coaster, Nemesis Inferno, a small, but fun inverted coaster, Samurai a really fun top scan flat ride, and Rush, Europe's tallest swing ride. This park is really a great place to come to and is highly recommended to thrill seekers for the high number of thrill rides. Go there,and you won't regret it ;) read more

Unlike most coasters which are gravity driven (the car is lifted to the top of the first hill and gravity takes it round), Stealth is one of the few cable launched coasters (like the catapult on an aircraft carrier) in the country - it wasn't the first; that honour belongs to RITA:Queen of Speed in Alton Towers. Stealth is however the fastest coaster in the UK. You are launched from 0 to 80mph in under 2 seconds along a straight track. Then the car goes up vertically 205 feet, back down 205 feet, then over little bunny hill before coming to an abrupt stop. After what can be a long wait, the ride is over in around 10 seconds but let me assure you that 10 seconds is an amazing compressed adrenaline rush. The feeling of acceleration along the track is like having a wind powered face lift. In the vertical phase, you feel like you're in the space shuttle as it is launched. The drop sensation on the downward section is surprisingly muted and the abrupt stop brings hysterical laughter to a lot of riders, the sign of a good ride. It's one of the few rides I prefer to ride at the front but it's worthwile having that unobstructed view of the launch and rising phases. Also a top tip - use the single rider queue!! I'm not sure why they call it Stealth - the superstructure is visible from all around the park and the launch is nothing short of sensational!

Me and my friends were so scared to go on stealth the first time even though I have been on it before. We ended up going on it 6 times in one day. It was really nice when we could go in the pitch dark which was really scary as you couldn't see where you were going but then when you got to the top the whole park was lit up and the line of 20 minutes was totally worth the wait. Stealth will satisfy any thrill seeker and if you are scared of rollercoaster this is a great one to get rid of your fear of them as it does not go upside down!

The seats are attached to these prongs, allowing the riders' feet to dangle free. Sadly, the seats don't rotate on the prong in the style of X2 at Magic Mountain Swarm is located in a new area of the park close to Stealth but you can't access it directly from Stealth - you have to go on the other side of Tidal Wave to reach it. They have created a lovely new area with disaster theming - there is a blown up helicopter and fire engine but beware that the fire engine's water cannon still has enough life in it to soak unwary guests passing by! Basically, these vehicles have been damaged by an attack by aliens - the ride is built to resemble alien spacecraft. You get a good view of the ride from the queue line but also from all over the park The queue line is mazy as usual and be aware that a portion of it does go round the back of the ride where you can't see it. So, it may be longer than you realise - I found the queue line time estimate at the ride entrance to be accurate the 2 times I went on the ride. When you get to the front of the queue, you have a larger area where riders with bags etc can hand them in to be looked after. Riders who want front row seats get a special pass to take with them. Then, it's onto the main ride queue area which is hidden away. A nice touch is that the despatch booth is an upside down police criticial incident control truck. You are directed onto both sides of the loading gates by a park attendant The ride is 4 abreast with 2 seats on each side, which helps the ride capacity. Like most of the big rides at Thorpe Park, the restraints are over the shoulder with a belt clipping it onto the seat. On leaving the station, you're immediately onto the lift hill, which flips you 180 degrees at the top into the first drop. My favourite element of the ride is the second drop - if you sit at the back on the right, there's a great pop of air time as the whole train seems to pivot around that seat. It's definitely better to sit on the right as you also catch some water spray at the bottom of one of the drops, which was missing when I rode of the left hand side of the train. The ride is very smooth with 5 inversions It's a good addition to the park and it's nice to see Merlin continue to invest in new rides at this park - with a launch coaster and the only winged coaster in the UK, Thorpe Park in starting to rival Alton Tower's lineup of coasters though it can't ever hope to match Alton Towers on beauty and space Stealth is still my favourite but Swarm may be vying for my 2nd spot with Saw

If you want to change a plate or cup for another food or drink, you literally have to beg. They also have water rides and then charge you extra if you want to dry off. Tickets at the gate cost almost double compared to buying them online on their own website. The staff is neither friendly nor qualified. All in all, this is the worst theme park I've ever been to, and definitely one of the most expensive. A total rip-off.

The first time we came was around covid, a lot of the stuff was closed which was disappointing, however we assumed it was because of the virus. However this time, we came back, a lot of the stuff we had enjoyed had closed, like the star was side or the superheros side and they were some of the best ones. Now, we weren't expecting to do a huge amount of rides but we were expecting to do some! We qued up for the car race ride which we were excited as it is one of the biggest ones, the ride closed 3 times whilst we were quing for over an hour nd still weren't halfway through the line. The first 2 times they opened it up in under 5 minutes but the 3rd time they recommended for the people at the back of the que to come back later as they didnt know when they were gonna fix the problem but we ended up leaving aswell. Then we went to do a ride where we r on horses and it spins really fast and swings us. We were in the que for abt 40 minutes then they closed it nd said it would take 40-50 minutes to open back up. So again we left as we had atleast 30 minutes more que time to do after that. Nd the thing is, lego land opens late nd closes early. U feel like ur rushing through the park when ur there and quing up for no reason is really irritating. There were also probably less then 15 benches in the whole park meaning u can only sit down really if ur on a ride (if u manage to get on one). There were only 2 smoking areas in the whole park nd they r both close to the entrance nd one of the smoking areas is connected to the children's park nd kids run in nd out of there. There was only one water fountain to fill up bottles but once again its at the entrance, most people have full bottles at that point so they should put more around the park. But one of the biggest issues was leaving the park. It is so disorganised that it took us over 2 hrs to leave the car park. The rides that we did get to go on however were fun but none of us got to go on any of the big rides nd we only did 3 in total which is not a lot for the price we paid.

I've been to Thorpe park on many occasions and thoroughly enjoyed it however my visit here a couple of days ago changed my thoughts about Thorpe park and here is why...So on arrival we hire a locker for £2 we inserted the coin and it didn't lock so we called for assistance we was told would take 10 minutes for some one to help so we waited asked a further 4 Thorpe park representatives how much longer we needed to wait and an hour later still no show so asked again and some one finally came and gave us a free token to hire a locker, this disappointed us as it took an hour off our visit to Thorpe park and we had only just arrived and already encountered a problem. So we finally que up for a ride and there is an announcement telling people in the line to go elsewhere to another ride as they where having technical difficulties this happened on quite a few occasions, usually they offer free fast track tickets but sadly this never happened in our case. Que times where 80+minutes and was even more deflating when we was sent away due to technical issues and had already lined up for nearly a whole hour just to be sent away again! In total we ended up going on 4 rides, and we traveled 2 hours away from the amusement park so we all left feeling conned and disappointed to then travel back home a further 3 hour journey feeling let down. Thorpe park has a fantastic atmospehere. If you are a thrillseeker as soon as you see the rides you feel like a kid in a candy store! First of all, the admission price has increased to £35 which is admittedly a lot as you can get an annual thorpe park pass for (last time i checked) £62 which is great if you live locally and enjoy the rides. There are a variety of rides from rides for the littl'uns right up to the big boy rides such as SAW and Stealth. At peak, there is even a massive queue to get in but it doesn't take long as they have an effective system. There is a massive variety of places to eat, from fish and chips, to burger king, to kfc, to pizza hut (which i would recommend the most). There are also various drink stations and donut stations but all with shockingly high priced food and drink as expected. The only problem is if it's a sunny day, the queue lines can go up to 180 mins long which can be really boring as there is no real in line entertainment. It took 2 hours for me and 2 friends to get to the front of SAW and then it broke down and we were only told that they did not know how long the repairs would take so we waited and fortuantely it was only 20 minutes so we got on after that however Vortex also broke down and we weren't given a time there either so that is why it is only 4 stars; high prices and not very informative when things go wrong & long queues. read more

With a complete chilling out mood I went to Thorpe Park a week ago.This is located at Staines and easily reachable from Waterloo station and this was another reason why my friends prefer this to others. The park is easy to get around as you get a map of the whole park laying out the location as well as the rides and activity.There are plenty of rides to make you scared and thrilled.I particularly like nemesis and stealth.I will also recommend Rumba rapids and depth charge.If you want to experience the true extreme ride experience do go for Vortex. The queues can be really frustrating and takes very long.We almost felt like skipping few rides because of waiting time.I couldn't see much in the way of deighting kids apart from fantasy fish,the showcase and fee lsit.So in case you are planning for family just think twice.I find Thorpe park is on the pricey side although there are few deals both online (check now -month of May-June) and supermarket with the option for fast-track tickets but still it is on the higher side. In a nutshell it is a feel good factor for screamy rides. read more

Thorpe Park Resort is an outstanding theme park, and now I understand why all my friends recommended it to me. The park features an impressive array of roller coasters, many of which are incredibly exciting. I highly recommend the Colossus roller coaster; it was both fun and thrilling, with numerous barrel rolls. The park's rides are primarily designed for teenagers and adults. Although there are a few water rides, they tend to have longer queues than other rides. I visited on a Tuesday, and most of the wait times were around 15 minutes. I highly recommend visiting Thorpe Park Resort, and I would definitely revisit. read more

Thorpe Park is the best!! The only downfall were the queues TOO LONG!! But what do you expect from the most amazing theme park ever?? Was it fun?? Understatement!! I loved it. I am a 13 year old girl and all of my school friends were too scared to go on all of the big rides like stealth and even detonator. They regreted it after we left because I kept going on about how great it all was. X No Way Out is one of the most disappointing rides i have experienced. Complete darkness does not make up for the lack of thrill going backwards on a mundane track. If there was any shed of light, the ride itself would be exposed as being horrendously basic and limited. The juddered movements against your back are more painful than gut wrenching, leaving this a forgettable ride. read more

2nd time to Thorpe Park. Much better than Alton Towers. No time wasted getting around on cable cars or monorails around the park or from the car. Stealth, Nemesis and classic Colossus working all day. Good variety of rides (coaster/wet/spinny type things). Only Tidal Wave closed all day, but no real loss. Friendly staff- often letting people stay on for 2nd go if no queue read more

Thorpe park is a great day out for everyone. Theres smaller rides for little ones, or big roller coasters for the adventurous. It's a fairly cheap day out for what it is. Queues for the rides aren't too bad normally, but obviously worse in the school holidays, bank holidays and hot weekends. I'd say it's one of Englands best attractions. read more
