Stayed at Thousand Hills Hotel/Resort for 3 nights April 2026. Wouldn't go back for a numberr of reasons: - TV didn't work, had to call to get someone to resolve. Response from this was very quick though. - Mattreses (double Queen room) probably the worse we've encountered at any hotel. You could see the depression in the middle of the mattresses as soon as you entered the room. - Sink had a minor leak under the counter at the shutoff valves - Toilet flushed poorly. - Heard multiple horror stories from other gueasts. Showers that took 15 minutes or more to drain, also low water pressure mentioned. - We had end room on north side, and the music from the aquarium could be heard inside our room randomly all afternoon into the early evening. Stay away from end rooms facing that direction. - Breakfast was ok - we've better enjoyed other hotel's breakfasts. Exact same breakfast menu for the 2 days we went - no variety. On the positive - -Staff very nice and responsive. - Room was very clean, but the mattress issue was too much to overcome. read more

Pool area is summer small for a "resort" and is overrun by children so we didn't use it. They also have a restaurant on premis that they also use for their breakfast buffet. I think a 2. The room is nice but there is no way for me to stream any of my subscriptions to the TV in the bedroom. No smart TVs. The coffee area in the kitchen is just a few items thrown in a drawer beneath the pot. If i hadnt looked, i wouldnt have known it was there. The only spot that had a makeup mirror, the mirror is broken on both sides. When I booked the room there was a beautiful contrast between the reds, blues and greens. There are hardly any red accents anymore and the swan towels were not a thing. The bedroom was 20 degrees hotter than the living room and took hours to cool off. The breakfast voucher buffet had a total of 6 hot options, industrialized liquid eggs included, plus coffee. No on-site requests or anyone making anything fresh. Compared to other resorts i have stayed at, it was not comparable. I am in the Top of the Town, King suite in Branson Missouri, I suppose I had higher expectations. The staff have been great, the room is clean and the view is awesome. I am smack dab in the middle of a tourist mecha, wondering if I should have gotten an Air BnB for my wife's birthday. My wife, granddaughter, and I stayed here after leaving a different hotel in Branson and found it to be a great upgrade. The staff were professional. The rooms were clean, and everything worked (other than the tub didn't drain as fast as the shower sprayed). We didn't use the pool/hot tub, but the area looked nice and clean. The provided breakfast was better than some I have stayed at. All-in-all, I think we have found our choice for all future stays. read more

Hotel is older and our room was pretty run down and unfortunately it wasn't as clean as I'd like. There was trash on the floor when we checked in. The walls are so thin we could hear the TV next door until well after 3am. Staff was great though and breakfast was very good, we had it for 3 mornings and it's always very busy and the same thing. Eggs, biscuits, oatmeal, sausage, gravy, fruit, yogurt and oatmeal plus cereals and milk. Orange and apple juice plus coffee. If the buses are there you can expect it to be super busy but they have seating at the bar next door and outside the restaurant in the downstairs lobby so plenty of seating. Pool and hot tub area could use a revamp as could most of the building. We really loved the Veterans hall and wanted to say Thank you for honoring those that have served our country. Was skeptical due to some of the reviews. But went anyways bc I got a good deal $72 for 1 night. Room was clean for the most part no bed bugs or any bugs found for that matter.Room was cool and set to 65 when we got there which in my opinion was amazing. Shower was very nice and could get veryyyyy hot. Only thing I had a issue with staying in the room was the bathroom lighting sucked. The breakfast buffet was good but wasn't anything to brag about!! Booked stay at Thousand Hills Resort Hotel with a 3rd party entity. Arrived at the hotel and while attempting to check in a timeshare salesperson interrupted the process. My no's to visit a presentation didn't deter him from constantly intruding. When we finally entered the room you knew it was sanitizing time. Grab my Lysol spray and sanitizer wipes, went to work. I had sanitized most of the room when I realized there wasn't a shower curtain, the tub was dirty as well as the soap dish. I called the front desk, of course it was busy. Eventually , someone picked up. I relayed my concerns and the guy sad he would have maintenance bring me a shower curtain to put up I asked him who did he expect to put up the shower curtain. His reply, "You can if you like." Whew! Told him sir, I'm not laughing. At this point he offered another room. but why do their job and sanitize another room. Bad decision! As I looked around I spotted with my little eyes more issues. Whew! No manager available to address my new concerns, because he was dealing with another upset customer. Upon checking out I relayed issues related to my stay to the young lady at the desk. Once again no manager was available. The young lady looked at me as to say what do you expect me to do about it? Room- tiny maybe 14ft by 16ft.... if you've ever been to a city jail cell this is about the size. The interior is heinous with late 80s decor. Black mold in the shower. No daily housekeeping so your trash just lingers unless you bag it up and set it outside your door. This is more like a hostel than a hotel. Price- I paid a grotesque 550 for 2 nights for a room that should be less than 75 per night. If you are unwilling to give your info to timeshare conartists this place will charge you like they are a 4star resort when they are a 2star at best Service- one big marketing scheme with the scammers at blue green vacations, honestly after this I will no longer buy my fishing gear at basspro due to their association with this group of shady characters. Location- could be decent but they cram as many poor souls into this scam as possible with little regard for parking. Management no need to reply to this review I can't be bought at least not with your offer of more time at this or any of your other garbage properties. I can't say enough positive things about the customer service at the hotel. Everyone who worked there was so accommodating and helpful. We got a great price which included breakfast and the room was clean and adequate in size. We didn't spend much time in the room as there is so much to do in Branson. I booked this room after I called to make sure the pool was in working order for our son's 8th birthday -this is all he wanted. Last night we weren't able to swim cause the pool & hot tub was full of men (all men in the pool area would turn any family away). We decided to get up early before we checked out so he could swim, we got downstairs at 8am (the door states the pool opens at 8am) and we stood around and called the front desk twice. The second call we were informed the maintenance guy wasn't even at the hotel yet so basically they can't open the pool. We were told they don't have keys to unlock it. This was disappointing not only because we called prior to booking & if the pool hours are 8am until 10pm then guests expect it to be open at the time listed, but because the pool is the one thing our son asked to do for his birthday. The pool finally opened close to 9am, but again it was crowded & now the hot tub was out of service. This is very disappointing. Let's not mention the bland breakfast & the "sausage" ...GROSS! The room smelled like someone had smoked in it then odorant was used to cover up the smell - MUSTY! I talked to several people who said they would call me back right away. No one called me back. I kept calling and finally someone checked it out and told me the shoes were gone. The staff at the front desk were nice and friendly, and I appreciated that. However, once we got into the room, it was clear that it had not been properly cleaned. The table and sinks were visibly dirty, and I actually had to go to the nearest grocery store to buy cleaning products and clean them myself--you could see dirt coming off. I was traveling with my grandma, and she felt itchy almost immediately after getting into the bed, which was very concerning. On top of that, the room had a strong unpleasant odor when we arrived, similar to someone's feet. We called the front desk as soon as we noticed these issues and asked for the room to be cleaned and for extra towels, but no one ever came. I booked this hotel because the photos looked so gorgeous. Once inside, I came to realize that maybe the photos were embellished and the hard truth is that this place is in need of a refresher. My room had a pretty view and had everything one needs for an overnight stay. Two stars because when I was booking, I filtered my search to specifically find a place with a restaurant and a bar on site. They have both however at 7:15, the bar was closed and the restaurant, despite saying it's open until 10 was also closed because they "were slow". The room I stayed in was outdated. the hotel is pretty run down. The bathtub was buckled and felt as if I was going to fall through the bottom. My family and I stayed on the wrong day because there was a school group there, which made breakfast crowded. The hotel allowed them to keep their belongs in the foyer of the breakfast area, blocking the elevators. The so-called breakfast buffet was disappointing, to say the least. As I was going to get some biscuits one of the employees came by with a cart to refill the gravy. He came around with gloves on his hands pushing the cart and stop to push the biscuits around with the same gloved hands used on the cart. We attempted to stay here this past week for our honeymoon. As soon as we walked in to the lobby the vibes were weird. It was crowded and seemed really tiny and boxed in. It felt like a cruise ship, and not a good one. When we checked in the guy was super nice and said we could get free tickets to shows if we sat through a 90 minute presentation about time shares they offer. We thought that was a little weird but it's a touristy town so we didn't think much of it and went up to our room. When we got to the room it got way worse. I noticed a lot of stains and surfaces seemed like they hadn't been wiped down. I went to the bathroom and there were tiny hairs on the toilet seat. The corners of the floor and bathtub were disgusting as well and it was very outdated (we had the "updated" king room). The bed itself seemed fine so I tried to get over it. I opened the window and noticed a mystery stain on the curtain, and went to sit on the red chair they have in there. When I got up, I noticed a crusty stain on the chair and that was when I thought "I have to get out of here." I even opened the mini fridge which had a rotting smell, mold inside, and dead bugs. I told my husband we had to go. We went downstairs to ask to cancel the reservation and the girl helping us was actually so sweet and helpful! She and her shift lead told me their manager wasn't there but they would put in a request to get us a full refund. They asked if we wanted to just switch rooms and weren't pushy when I told them no. The girl even called me personally the next day to ask if we got the refund and when I told her no she said she would personally talk to the manager. We saw the refund come through shortly after this. The staff was amazing but it seems like the hotel is too big for them to keep clean which is definitely an issue with whoever owns this place. I've never left a hotel before and it would have had to be pretty awful for me to have just gotten done driving for 6 hours to check back out and have to venture out to find another hotel with no guarantee of finding one. We ended up at the Holiday Inn Express down the street thankfully. This place has a lot of false advertising and needs a whole revamp. We should have know it was gonna be a problem when it took over a half an hour to check in. We requested a handicapped room. We were given a room on the 8th floor furthest from the elevator. I cant walk that far. The carpets are ripped and a tripping hazards. There are cleaning carts in the hallways all day long. I highly doubt this building meets ADA standard. The beds are old and have big pits in the middle. The netting in the bottom of the mattress is hanging down. There were dirty tissues and used toilet paper rolls on the bathroom floor. It only gets worse. The drain in the shower doesn't drain. The shower curtain is mildewed and smells awfu. There is bags of garbage lining the hallway to the elevator. If the breakfast buffet isn't included in your room don't bother. The food is cold and nasty and soggy. read more

Parking is atrocious. There is very little parking available for handicap. Parking can be extremely far away from the building. The hotel was not kept clean, it was extremely stuffy, and the elevators are overloaded. Not only do you have too many people, but the staff also uses the elevators for maintenance and laundry. This is a nine story building. Absolutely horrible. I had to go through three rooms to try to find a room that had a non cracked, damaged, Staind bathtub for my granddaughter. It was never achieved. In fact the room that we landed in had bad air conditioning, was not completely cleaned, and the refrigerator was broken. Maintenance was called but he decided he wasn't going to do anything about it and then it started to stink and we had to have something done about it on the next day. They do not have housekeeping daily. When we did get housekeeping she did not clean the room. She changed the bed linens that I had set on the floor, and that was it. The swimming pool is extremely small for a 9-story hotel. It's small for a small hotel. The buffet was okay but nothing was flavorful, at all. I would like to say that the staff was friendly. I would not recommend this hotel and we will never return to this hotel. Nothing worse than trying to be on vacation and have to have so much trouble. read more

We stayed here for our anniversary because it had over 4 stars on Expedia. We ended up disappointed. Overall the stay was average, but not the resort we thought we had booked. Overall, the location is right in the middle of the action- which we enjoyed. It is an extremely large hotel and so it is extremely busy... large groups of people everywhere. Lots of traveling athletes and dance groups staying here. When you check in- I found it to be overwhelming and the staff seemed to maybe get commission on upselling you shows and tickets. I'm coming to relax and found that to be a turn off. The hotel foyer and floor hallways were around 76 degrees and humid. We set the room thermostat at 71 but it never got there. Overall this likely used to be a resort, but isn't now. Amenities were struggling and needed major upgrades: popcorn ceiling, bathtub falling apart, many layers of repaint and poor texture where you can see where repairs were, discoloration on walls, etc. there was a smell in the hotel and hallways- musty- and not pleasant. Our bed was actually the best part. We found the bed to be very comfortable. Small refrigerator independently laying on floor. My sodas kept freezing overnight and low shower pressure. We didn't hate it, but it wasn't at all what we thought. The one thing we were excited about was the free breakfast. People raved about it on google. I found the breakfast to be a typical continental breakfast and was disappointed they serve the same items each day. We will likely not go back. read more

The staff was very nice and attentive, and the food at the restaurant was pretty good but our rooms AC leaked and the floor was soaked. We were there for a total of 4 nights and informed the staff of this issue at least once a day and they finally decided to try and fix it on our last night staying , they told us to get out of the room at 10 ish at night so they could vacuum it all up and move us to a different room because the leak was that severe. We told them no, because we had children staying in the room that needed to sleep. So they vacuumed all the water up in the morning while we were gone instead. We came back to our door opened and floor still wet, not soaked but wet. Would not recommend unless you like wet clothes, socks, and shoes.. read more

I have used this company for over 10 years to book various stays at various properties. I booked a stay on a Wednesday, bought the cancelation insurance for $62 as a safety precaution. Had to cancel the very next day and they refunded all but $124.00. Keep in mind I did all the work by booking online. When I called, they said the $124.00 was a "Booking Fee". So, I booked it not you, in a totally automated system!!! I told them I bought the insurance that covers 100% reimbursement if there was a cancellation up to the date of the stay. They said, oh you have to work that out with the company you bought the insurance through. So now I am getting the run around from the insurance company and non-response. 4 greyhound busses dropping people off makes for mass chaos and the inability to get around inside or even in the parking lot. The hotel is in desperate need of upgrades....its in very poor condition. Day 1: Upon arrival late at night, we were informed that the "Updated King Room" we had reserved was not available and that they would have to put us in a room with two queen beds instead. We were told that there were no other options available because the hotel was full through the weekend. The agent at the desk suggested we come back to the registration desk in the morning, and they might be able to find another room for later in the week. When we got to our room, it was very clear that this room was not an updated room. The room decor was dated and everything was worn. The AC unit in the room was quite loud and cycled on and off frequently. We also found that there were only 4 hangers in the wardrobe and no face cloths in the bathroom. We called down to the front desk, and they had someone come up with face clothes and a few more hangers. We asked for additional hangers, and they were delivered as well. Day 2: The next morning we went to the registration desk again to discuss the room change and to report other problems we found with the room. There was no power to the TV or refrigerator. There was no shower curtain. We also requested a flatter pillow because the fluffy ones provided hurt my wife's neck. The agent (Carter) we talked to at the desk was polite and expressed concern with our issues. He promised to have the mechanical issue addressed and to have a low-profile pillow sent up. Per the downgrade in room, he said there was nothing he could do because the hotel was full. He also said that since we had booked via AARP/Expedia that there was nothing he could do in the way of a refund. He did say that the hotel could give us a good deal on show tickets and maybe even free ones if we would be willing to attend his "it's not a timeshare" timeshare presentation the next morning. We declined that opportunity. He seemed far more interested in getting us to attend the presentation than addressing the problems with our room. We were gone most of the day returning to the hotel in late evening. When we got to the room, we found that none of the problems had been corrected, no low-profile pillow was provided, and housekeeping had not made up the room. We called down to the front desk, and they told us that house keeping was on a "by request only" basis - and they would put us on the list for the next day. They did not know the status of any repairs. Before going to bed that night we decided to have a drink in the hotel's bar. We voiced our complaints about the room to the bartender, Caroline. She took the initiative to call the night maintenance man who came in and talked to us. He listened to our concerns and said he would take a look. He came back a short time late and had fixed the power to the TV and fridge. He came back a short while later with a shower curtain and took it to our room and installed it. Day 3: A good day - House keep came by at around 10:00 and we asked them to come back in 30 minutes after left for the day. They did, made up the room and brought us fresh towels. This was the last time housekeeping made up our room for the entire trip despite our requesting it on multiple occasions. Day 4: No new issues - requested housekeeping for the next day. Day 5: No Housekeeping - when we called the front desk, we were to that housekeeping didn't have time to get to all of the rooms today. We requested that they be sure to have them make up our room the next day. Day 6: No Housekeeping again today. No explanation as to why it didn't happen. That night we requested that towels be brought up. They were delivered outside our room in a large plastic bag. We put the pile of dirty towels we had accumulated in the same bag and left them in the hall. They disappeared somewhere in the night. Day 7: We went to the registration desk and requested to speak to the day manager. We were told that the manager (Trevor) was in a meeting and unavailable. The agent (Carter) asked us why and we gave him a summary of our issues. Carter listened and seemed to understand what we were telling him. Carter went on to promise that he would personally give the information to the manager and was sure that Trevor would contact us that day. He confirmed our email address and cell phone number. Trevor did contact us. Day 8: While checking out we talked again to Carter again. He expressed surprise that Trevor had not contacted us. He felt like Trevor would probably contact us in the next few days. We have yet to hear from anyone by phone or email. Post Trip: Contacted AARP customer support with our issues. They contacted the hotel and recieved a partial refund for us. It didn't seem like enough, but we accepted it rather than taking on a longer fight. read more

Bed bugs!!! I called multiple times and was told a manager would call me back. Of course they did it. But upon reading reviews on Google and Facebook, it seems like bedbugs have been an issue here for quite some time and have not been addressed. I did my vacation through Bluegreen, and called them and sent pictures right away. I was not looking to get anything out of my complaint, but the lack of their communication and calling me back has just kind of pissed me off. My husband and I are riddled with bites. I do not recommend this hotel. When I 1st called to make reservations the young man kept trying to sign me up for a "seminar" to same $$ on trips. Would not take no for an answer. I hung up and called back the next day, got a woman and made my reservations without any issues. 4 night stay for my husband and I. When we arrived first the desk clerk said we were to early. So we were going to leave and come back. Wait I can do it for a fee. No we will come back. Oh, she said I can go ahead and check you in. Then the sales pitch started for the "seminar". Next thing I know we are signed up. She asked some very personal questions i.e. age, income, homeownership, etc. And there is a $40 refundable reservation fee, which you will get back plus $100 cash for going to the "seminar". But we don't qualify for the "seminar" at this hotel. We do not make enough income for this hotel (we lied), we have to go to Excursions. 30 minutes later we are finally checked in. So we are here for 4 nights and have learned that you have to request for clean towels and cleaning services. The garbage cans are small and will fill quickly. There are not enough coffee packets for 2 days. I can understand not changing the bed every day, but they can at least make them. We have enough towels for the 2 of us for 2 days. The so called breakfast buffet was cold. They should spend less time trying to upsell their so called vacation packages and update the facilities. Also get a dust rag and knock out the cobwebs. Make reservations any where BUT here! When we arrived at the hotel the parking lot was a bit sketchy as far as the steepness. No big deal we found a flat parking spot. We checked in the front desk was very friendly but you could smell a lot of bleach in the lobby to cover a smell. We got to our floor and immediately I could smell urine, like a bathroom that had been backed up and flooded. The hall way carpet was discolored all the way down to our room with another weird smell I could not detect what it was maybe wet mold? We get into our room the ac doesn't work only the heat. Fridge would not get cold. The phone in the room didn't work so you had to walk back down to the lobby. All the lamps in the room had one bulb that was out while the working ones flickered. They didn't have any soap in the bathroom. There were yellowish brown water streaks all across the ceiling. It's not worth the discount or the stay. I just hope we didn't get bedbugs. And I just want to say Branson only has 4 golf courses. This one was rated best for easiest and cheapest 18 hole. To start off, we reserved a corner room, which we wanted for a romantic week with room service, according to THEIR WEBSITE, we received neither, they stopped room service LAST YEAR, they placed us in a King Suite, when I said we reserved a corner room, we received a snide comment, WELL YOUR GETTING A BIGGER ROOM, no apology, just that snide comment.So off to the room 901, first room is a touch warm, so we lower the thermostat, proceed to unpack everything, WELL NO AC in front room, try to call front desk, PHONE DOESN'T WORK, so down to the front desk, then we wait for maintenance to show, nice maintenance, they decide to move us to 921, we check AC and now it's not cooling properly, it half worked when maintenance was there. Later we make the attempt to use microwave, it won't work, so we discovered its not plugged in, I'm not going to try and feed it through the back of wall unit, so I place it on the side table. This hotel is a pig in lipstick! Do NOT believe the positive reviews on here. We had 2 rooms with full beds. The hotel looked decent at first, but had many issues that need attention. We were in town for a baseball tournament & other families shared their rooms had similar issues. One even checked out immediately because their room smelled of urine!! They received a full refund. Here is the low down: The front desk area is extremely busy, the entrance between doors smells of smoke. At check in was told our 2 rooms were not adjoining as requested. Upon entering our room it looked decent, but then we noticed coffee all over the counter in the bathroom, We called the front desk & no one answered. My husband said he would just take care of it & wiped it down with a wipe. Later we noticed more issues including rotting baseboards in the bathroom, a broken shower curtain, very outdated shower head, dents in the bathroom door & strange stains. There were strange hairs in the bathroom on the floor & light fixture. The bathroom light fixture was rusty & had one light bulb out. The bathroom door opened into the shower, not making the bathroom space very practical for a family. There was goo & other stains on almost all of the hard surfaces, as well as walnuts & crumbs on the floor. The pool is open until midnight. It is also 1/2 inside & 1/2 out. It was very full of teenagers, the smell of chlorine was very very strong. It even felt like bugs were biting our backs in the outside pool. We contemplated getting dinner downstairs, but there was even one full table in the restaurant at 6:30PM. The menu is also pretty basic. There was lots of partying going on at all hours, in every space of the hotel. People were coming & going all night in the hallway waking us up. Bring bleach wipes @ your own hand soap if you stay here. Paid $125 a room & found rooms for $66 the next morning. Checkout is at 10 AM & not listed on the paper you are given upon check in. The only positive is that the bed was lean & comfortable. I checked for bed bugs & did not see an issue. We will not be staying here again. We were not asked how our stay was upon check out. Great place! 21 hrs from our home was clean was also great with all our needs for the 2 weeks we stayed!! Thanks to all the great staff !!
