Straight up the best. I've trained with Adam, Jeremy, and Chris. All are super professional and highly skilled teachers. They refined my handgun grip to far more proficient than I could ever do on my own. They walked me through my first Bill Drill, target transitions, and shooting with movement that I have ever done, with no ego. They have the skills to back up what they are talking about, and the experience. I cannot stress enough if you carry, if you have a home defense firearm. Get Training!!!! For your sake and everyone around you. Plus, it's just plain old fun! Prices are the best bang for buck out of any range I've been in. I've noted in a review the range isn't airconditioned, that's not accurate, it is, in-fact bring a hoody it can get a tad chilly. I also got my CHL here Utah and Oregon, they were great about following up when Utah delayed due to back log. I'm noting that the negative reviews happened before Adam took charge as general manager. Excellent facility | Excellent instructors (Jeremy) My husband has been here a few times to use their shooting range, but this was my first time coming here to watch my husband use their simulators. I originally booked a 30-minute session for the Threat Alley simulator ($45). I didn't know what to book for my husband because he had never done anything like this before, but I wanted to get him involved in something since this place offers state-of-the-art training. I'm so glad I did. Jeremy was our instructor. He was formerly a member of a SWAT team, so he has plenty of experience. He offered excellent critique and guidance, walking my husband through the session step by step. He even gave us an extra 20 minutes and let us use the 300-degree Threat Arena - WOW! He provided my husband with excellent scenarios, even the ones intended for two people. I highly recommend Jeremy and hope we have the opportunity to work with him again next time. He's very knowledgeable, friendly, and an excellent instructor here. The simulator experience really makes you appreciate what military and law enforcement have to do. The Threat Alley simulator is a single-screen application that lets users practice practical threat scenarios, such as being robbed in a parking lot after work. It also presents other scenarios that prompt you to reconsider how you would handle the situation if it were to actually happen. Those scenarios, when the threat isn't directly interacting with you, can get tricky. For instance, how do you handle the threat if they have a hostage? The 300-degree Threat Arena is pretty impressive! It's best used with another person or two, but my husband did well for one person. Overall, I recommend these simulators for individuals seeking to train or simply enjoy themselves. Photos are allowed only in the simulators. Originally, I booked for $45 and ended up getting an extra 20 minutes and invaluable advice for the price of $55. So worth it! This place is popular and offers a variety of packages. Great staff. What a great experience! For background, I am a complete novice/beginner when it comes to guns. I'd never even held one in my hand, much less shot one. So needless to say, I felt very overwhelmed / intimidated by the prospect of walking into a gun store/range and getting shooting lessons. But I set up an appointment with Threat Dynamics for a 90m private instructor session and it was terrific! I walked in, and was introduced to Jeremy, who would be my instructor. He was very friendly and had me first go to a tablet and watch a short instructional/safety video and fill out some waivers. Then he asked which guns I'd be interested in trying out, and we went to a classroom where he thoroughly explained everything about it, from loading/reloading/unloading a gun, to shooting basics, to gun range etiquette. Then we went to a simulator shooting range where I could get my feet wet shooting simulator guns (which are basically 'real' guns only they shoot CO2 and a computer keeps track of where they're shot based on lasers). After I felt comfortable with that, it was off to the real live range. There, Jeremy told me exactly what to do and how to shoot the gun live at paper targets. It was very intense at first, shooting my own gun but also listening to others at the range shooting their guns, but after the first few shots, I started to really get the hang of it. I'm now very comfortable handling a gun, and am planning on purchasing one in the near future. Not sure if I'll purchase it at Threat Dynamics, but I may not, only because there are other gun stores much closer to where I live. So anyway, that was that. I would highly recommend Threat Dynamics and Jeremy to any novice (or actually, any level) shooter who wants to learn to shoot or hone their skills. The only other thing to note is that the prices they list on the website for their private instruction are for the instruction ONLY. All other rentals of guns, ammo, shooting lane time, targets, etc. you must pay for in addition to the private instruction fee. Had a weird experience at threat I talked with Ryan I'm pretty sure that was his name a few weeks ago. I came just to shoot my gun with my friend and he was very pushy on training and told me about the VR that isn't working so why even waste my time. The rest of the staff was very nice to us but I didn't need to feel like I had to buy a package or what felt like a credit card being shoved down my throat. To start of, guns are dangerous and one must take great care in participating in in the activities here. Having said that, there are basically two parts to the TD. The first is a standard 20 yard range (8 or 9 lanes) and a VR simulation room. You can bring your own gun or rent the guns onsite. Ammunition is available for purchase and they are careful with how much ammunition is sold or brought in. Unfortunately, I was with a party of 18 guys. Half wanted to use the range and the other half wanted to use the VR. I am not too sure about the process for handling such a large party but they missed giving a safety protocols while at the live firing range. I did notice that they had some kind of Valentines Day special for couples where they provided everything necessary for using the range including a safety instruction for those who needed it. Threat Dynamics ripped us off. They charged us over $400 for myself, my wife and my daughter to get our Utah and Oregon CHL and we ended up with nothing after sitting through the 3 hour classes. It turns out the UTAH CHL information was wrong due to a Utah state policy change and we did not qualify. (actually we would have if they had mailed our paperwork in time) We did not get our Oregon CHL either. After asking Threat Dynamics 3 times for either a refund or fixing this situation they've done nothing. It's been 4 months now since our training. Beware they will take your money and not honor their sales. I hate writing these things but we need to warn customers about Threat Dynamics. read more

My sister was killed by a gun amd I wanted nothing to do with them for years. So when my husband suggested we get a firarm, I said, "Only if we get lessons and leatn the right way." I took their beginners firearms class a few months ago. Great class in learning the basics. Recently followed it up with attending their live firing range with my new pistol and AR15. FYI, I am a new gun owner and am one of the many recent first time buyers. Hunter was a great help in providing a newbie like me learn the very basics on both of my guns and also about the rules and etiquette of the firing range. All the guys here are awesome and friendly. Internet reviews for this place have been all over the place so I really had no idea what to expect. I've been training at OFA for years but after they closed a couple of years ago I have had great difficulty finding a local range and training operation to keep my skills up. I am former Military, an NRA certified training instructor and Chief range safety officer. Suffice it to say that I have a LOT of trigger time but I am definitely NOT one of those arrogant know-it-alls that you sometimes run into at ranges. Showed up with a guest who knows the basics but does not have sufficient experience to shoot at a range unmonitored. Most if not all the indoor ranges like TD do not allow two people in the same bay which I consider to be stupid if not downright unsafe. So being able to coach a shooter and also punch out a few rounds on my own gets this place a good review. The staff was great. Excellent. No complaints at all. I realize that customers may find themselves dealing with someone they don't care for but our interactions involved three employees and all three were super. Prices were quite reasonable. Got out of there for $60 which included the range time (for two), 100 rounds and a half dozen targets. They do have a Military and LEO discount. I liked the place enough to sign up for their AR class which is also very reasonably priced. They do have membership options which may be cost effective if you plan to shoot a few times a month. The memberships seem a bit pricey to me so we'll probably do the ala carte thing. The facility is very clean, good ventilation so you aren't choking on smoke. The environment seemed very safe to me although I didn't see any employees hovering around making a pest of themselves. They may have CCTV though. In any case, the staff does not bug you like they do at other ranges. Although I should add that except for my guest, everyone shooting when we were there seemed to be very experienced. You can rent firearms there and they sell ammo at prices that are in line with the prices at the Sportsmans Warehouse. No reloads or anything like that and you have to buy your targets from them (+/- $1 ea). TD offers a wide range of training for shooters of all levels of experience and also a simulator. If you CCW you absolutely need to be going through regular "adjudicator" training. There's the usual paperwork stuff. I presume you have to fill this stuff out every time you show up. Perhaps if you're a member you don't have to fill out as much paperwork. Bottom line is that we liked this place. Everything about it. I've been coming to Threat for about a year. It's so much more than just a place to shoot. Definitely geared toward developing safe, competent tactical defensive shooters. The staff, instructors (private instruction here is fantastic--thanks Zak!), classes (I think I've taken five now), simulators, community of regulars, and selection of rentals are all wonderful. If you shoot more than a couple times a month, do yourself a favor and check out their membership packages (the monthly, members-only 'Spartan' events are super fun!) Oh, and I hear they also do firearm repairs, facilitate transfers, and even offer cerakote services. Again, the people: that's really what keeps me coming back. The overwhelming majority of the other patrons I've encountered here have been very friendly, and the staff/instructors are genuine, professional, and encouraging. I routinely enjoy hanging out at the counter before and after a training session. Vincent is a great instructor and a gem of an RSO; I especially appreciate that, while walking the live fire range, he frequently takes the time to check in with folks and even offer some shooting advice here and there. Guy's really tuned in, super pro. My defensive shooting has benefited tremendously from my time spent here. If you live nearby, I encourage you to make this your range. read more

Edit: I changed the star from 1 to 2. I think the employees were trying their best, if I come back and the targets are operational I'll make sure to update the post. There were safety and operational problems today when I went to Threat Dynamics. First off, the automatic return machine in the lane I was on broke and stopped moving. I had to go to the counter and ask for help. They said use another one, and that one broke minutes later! So I went up there and immediately asked for an RSO. A Safety Officer, to make sure I wasn't breaking these machines or perhaps I hadn't figured out how to make them work. Generally when you ask for an RSO at any range that cares about safety they immediately pay attention to you. After all, RSOs are responsible for the safety of the range and the people using them. The staff called to a man working the counter who said he would get to me in a minute, then nonchalantly finished the transaction with small talk, then turned around to get his drink, then he mozied over to the other counter to ask the boss if he was going to get "30 minutes RSO time" because he has been asked to help me! Threat Dynamics, this is NOT ok. What if I was trying to report a dangerous thing going on at the range? What if there was a fire? I'm having trouble understanding how this isn't a huge red flag for anyone who wants to shoot there. Nobody knew I was asking for help with the return machines, I could have been up there asking for a safety officer for any reason. So when the RSO had time to approach me, I asked if he would try these machines out for me to make sure they were actually broken. The look on his face told me that he already knew they were broken and that I wasn't the only person who has brought it up. So, we head back to the range. He presses the buttons, shrugs and says that we should take this next lane... while saying this he leans his head over to see downrange at that lane and he realizes that there's no autotarget on that lane. It's out for repairs. He then points to the one after that. I ask if I should put my AK in my case to transport it to the new lane and he said that's not necessary, it's safe just to move it. Without checking my chamber or verifying if the weapon was flagged he then picked it up and moved it. An innocent, honest mistake made by someone who may have had other things on his mind as we all do from time to time but a dangerous and pointlessly risky move to assume someone else's gun is unloaded and safe. This man was not present and paying attention when he did that and it was another red flag that this company isn't operating proper safety procedures. OK. Back to shooting. I begin at the 3rd lane of the day and I notice that the digital number pad that shows the distance of your target is broken on this machine, so now I'm sighting in my optic by assuming the target is far enough away. Proof is shown in the picture I posted below. So after shooting I go out and ask to talk to a manager, which I then explain everything that is going on. She's very apologetic and friendly about the whole ordeal and comps the range time. Since I lost 4 targets to auto return machines that are broken, she kindly comps the cost of those as well. That made shooting two boxes of ammo $30. She also explained that they are working with a skeleton crew at the moment, one of the machines are out for repairs, and when another employee asked if it was a specific one they said "no, it's not that one... that ones been out forever." I got a card that is offering me a free loaner gun. But to get that according to their documentation, I have to pay for an RSO to be present, bring one of my guns, and bring a friend along as well on top of not being able to bring any of my ammo. It's not quite a concession, it's more of a money making proposition. This was upsetting to me because this place is very expensive compared to the competitors in the surrounding area, but they make up for it by being known as having a high quality establishment. I started this 5 months ago and somehow it never posted. The guys at Threat Dynamics are excellent. My first experience was with a Groupon 10 years prior when I practiced my aim with a simulator gun. I would have gone back but I moved out of town for a while. With the uptick in crime, I decided it was time to get serious about learning to shoot. I first took a basics to handgun class. It happened to be for ladies only. I was impressed with the thorough instruction and decided to purchase as many lessons as I could fit into my schedule before moving out of town again. I've had rheumatoid arthritis in my hands since I was a child and was concerned about whether I'd be able to even handle a real gun. As it turned out, my first instructor had me try a number of guns and determined I couldn't pull the slide back on a Glock. I don't have the strength. That was frustrating for me but where there's a will, there's a way. I ended up trying a number of guns: a .38 special was the first real gun I shot. Guns are so loud. I had no idea! I sound so sheltered but the instructors never made me feel that way and always made sure I was comfortable. They also made sure I could handle all aspects of handling a gun, not just shooting. All the guys in the front of the shop and the instructors were super patient and so encouraging. I can't remember all their names. I think Vincent was my last instructor and he took the time to ask me what I liked or didn't like about the guns I was trying in order to narrow down some options wherever I choose to shoot next. Well, I used to really like this place, but I will never be back! The last time I went was about 6-8 months ago, and we all had a great time. So, we thought we would go for a unique Valentine's day. Mind you, we have been here dozens of times before. We got all of our gear out, filled out the papers, and the guys informed us that we could not use our own targets. I said, "since when?" He said, "forever." I laughed and said not true as we have always brought mostly our own and then bought a couple of specials there. Ok, not a major deal. So my shooting partner returned our targets to the car as I checked us in and put my ammo box on the counter to have them check it. Their policy has always been $5 to check outside ammo. He grinned and said "uh, no outside ammo." WTF?!?! Again, "since when?" He randomly said it had been since Jan 2018 that unless you were a member you could not bring in outside ammo. I call bullshit! I told him I had been there twice in the last 6-8 months and have ALWAYS brought my own ammo. Needless to say, we left annoyed and vowing NEVER to return. They have permanently lost my business, which is a shame as I have brought a lot of people there and sent even more their way through my shooting club. read more

I recently attended a training at Threat Dynamics and really enjoyed it. The instructor was great, presented information in an easy to understand way. I also really enjoyed Corinne's presentation on USCCA. The virtual simulator is where the real fun begins though. Loved that they took the time to cover grip, sight alignment and trigger pull. Now the bad news! My girlfriend took a class exactly a week after me. When she came home she had received a certificate of completion. My class was never provided with one of these, let alone even offered one. Being that I want to take additional trainings, it would be nice to have said certificates to show my accomplishments as well as proof of what I've taken. I reached out via email over a week ago about this and no one has even reached out . This raises a few red flags for me! I want to take additional training, but if I can't even get an email response what else might go wrong. Unfortunately due to this I'll be cautious when considering further training. As a female it can be intimidating to walk into a gun range, a gun class, or a 1:1 shooting lesson since the world of firearms is predominantly male. I can tell you I have shot at this range multiple times, I have taken my CHL class here, I have had 1:1 lessons, and I have never felt more comfortable or safe in my life. Ryan and his staff are truly the best of the best and when I walk through their doors I know that I am home. Does TD have off days when machines don't want to work or you get someone who is a new and nervous employee? Heck ya, but who doesn't have those days? My boyfriend pre-purchased a session for my friend and I in the Femme Fatale class. They were booked on the date we were requesting so Nicholas offered to see if his supervisor would offer another time in the week for the class. We had not heard from him in a week and when we called back he stated he could offer the class if we could gather 4 people to participate with us but the class would only be 1.5 hrs vs the 2.5 hrs as advertised. I am very disappointed in their overall customer service. Mind you, we had gone to the facility and purchased the class in person. They were not very welcoming and their follow up is lacking. We had to call back when Nicholas took my number to call back. I would never go back or suggest to go here because of the customer service. We were very interested customers coming in and from the limited interaction we had, I felt our services were not wanted. Nicholas claimed we purchased our class online when we went in their shop a week ago and started their accounting would be upset because we wanted a refund. Why pay for a service we were not going to receive and the accommodation they were offering was half ass! No thanks. I would give this place a zero rating. read more

Their FAQ's on the website state that they charge $30 for FFL transfers. What it doesn't state is that price only applies to members. Thats why I was a little surprised when they rung me up for my transaction on a FFL transfer and the grand total was $60.95. $50 for the FFL fee and $10.95 for the background check. Personally, I feel like that is way to much for the service and will have my next transfer done some place else. I also found their used gun sales to be priced way too high. For example, a used stock Sig P365 was $650. A little bit of effort could get you the same gun for $499 new. read more

I didn't know what to expect but certainly not the wealth of information that I was able to take away with me in such a short time period. My husband and I went here for our 5 year wedding anniversary. He was pumped as this is right up his alley. I was slightly more nervous. I have handled fire arms however I do not like groups of people watching me or new environments. I had no idea what to expect and was quite nervous. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, breaking the ice with a few jokes and letting us know they are veterans. The only people in the room is yourself and group along with the instructor. This really helped ease my nerves. They showed me a few tricks and willingly gave me some tips to help me handle my firearm more comfortably and to be more accurate. They were extremely supportive and uplifting which helped me have more fun and feel more confident. By the end all I wanted to do was continue. Where did the time go? Can I do more scenarios? If you have a child, a family member or a friend who has never shot before or shot very little this IS the place to go! If you are skilled and shoot often, this IS the place to go! It is impossible to shoot your own toe off as we used real firearms rechambered for CO2. They have fire arm rentals and purchases available while having a separate room for indoor target practicing. They offer a plethora of classes that range in price but all sound EXTREMELY beneficial. My husband and I both had a marvelous time and will definitely be going back several more times. read more

Wow, amazing first time here! A group of us did the simulation training and my only complaint is that it didn't last longer! It's a fun and informative way to immerse yourself in a realistic, what would you do, type scenario. You get out exactly what you put in. My advice, follow the instructor's direction and try to really put yourself in these everyday situations. After, the instructor walks you through what you did right, wrong or even fatally wrong. If I had to sum up my experience with this company in one word it would be "dishonest." Or misleading. I've had limited shooting experience with a small variety of firearms previously and am considering purchasing a pistol. I know I need more education and training before doing so, so I signed up for the Basic Introduction To Hand Guns course. To start, when looking to register for the course, it says registration is $75. When you click on "Enroll Now" it takes you to another site to register (schedulicity.com) and there it says the course is $100. Red flag but paid anyway. In the description of the course it clearly states "Shooting Glock 17 pistols (100 rounds per student) (Virtually)." However during the actual class, each person shot 11 virtual shots. When this was brought to the instructor attention after the class he said it would take another 2 hours if he had to let each student shoot 100 rounds. Seemingly suggesting that 100 rounds should not be an expectation. Class was about 3 hours. My class had about 12-15 students. Class was held in a warehouse, next to the their main facility. The room was cold and dimly lit. It was difficult to see all the details the instructor was trying to show on the guns. The men's restroom was also in very bad condition. I would consider the content of the course mediocre at best. I along with a couple of other students I spoke with after the class got the impression that the their only purpose with this course was to sell private lessons. The instructor mentioned private lessons throughout the course and it seemed like this was more of the priority than actually educating participants on how to safely handle a firearm. The virtual shooting was also suspect. You don't see where your shots are hitting on the target as you're shooting. The instructor slides a separate window into the frame to show you where your shots supposedly land. My targeting and grouping during the course was so so. I know I'm not good at shooting but I thought the way my shots appeared was curious based on the way I've shot in the past (last time I shot was about a month before, live rounds). I actually went to the Clakamas County Public Safety Training Center about 2 hours later to shoot live rounds at their range. I shot my friends Glock 45 & SW MNP 2.0. My shots weren't great but they were drastically better than it was during the virtual shooting at TD. Which in my opinion should not have been the case since the Glock 17's were simulator pistols and the recoil on them was maybe 10% of the real thing. Needless to say I left the TD course very disappointed. Felt it was a complete waste of time and money. The information i learned I could have easily found on a free, 5-10 minute YouTube video. I could never recommend any courses from Threat Dynamics to anyone based on my experience. It just felt like the course was a money grab and a way to take advantage of people that are inexperienced and a bit fearful of firearms by selling them this course then private lessons. read more
