    Double pepperoni
    Shelbie C.

Alaska is expensive and feeding a family of four without breaking the bank is a challenge when you are a tourist with no kitchen. Three bears is a decently sized grocery store though they focus on large bulk items for the most part. You can get a few sandwich basics, cooked chickens etc good for picnics but what you can also get are pizzas! If you go back on aisle 1 all the way to the end near the restrooms and turn left down what looks like the workers corridor you will see a pizza oven ( electric) and a tattered menu on the wall. One toppings for 13.99 in June 2023 and specialty like double pepperoni for 15.99. 14 inchers. We tried the supreme (just ok) and the double pepperoni (excellent for what it is) for the price of one pizza anywhere else in town. It's not gourmet wood fired stuff but it tastes like a cross between dominos and Pizza Hut. Hit the spot after hiking in Denali and was light on the wallet. For 40$ we had two cocktails from the liquor store, drinks for the kids and two pizzas. In Alaska. Go for the pretzel and some drinks. Not the meat.

Wide variety, clean, friendly, fresh meat and it is a proper grocery store not a general or trading store. They sell Alaskan grown potatoes and Alaskan caught seafood at good prices.

I love a nice parking lot with a mountain view!

Well it's probably the only real grocery store within a 100+ mile radius. Three Bears Alaska in Healy has everything, a good selection of Liquor, Food, and Snacks. Good prices on gas and the aforementioned considering it's Alaska and semi-rural. The one interesting thing and almost a culture shock is the amount of Eastern Europeans working at Three Bears and all around Healy/Denali. Seems like everyone working in the area sounds like Boris and Natasha lol. Turns out they're all seasonal workers on Visa's. Definitely a surprise!

This place is absolutely awesome! It is far from everywhere (in October... out of tourist season) but has everything we needed.

Look, I know. It's a gas station and convenience store. Why go to the bother of not only seeking…read moreout the ability to leave a Yelp review, but even going to the trouble of adding the business yourself so you can do it? I did it for the BBQ, man. We had a few hours to blow between our tour through Denali and our rafting trip. It was record-breakingly hot that day, so we stopped off here for some fountain sodas. Because you know what's better than a fountain soda, all full of ice in a plastic cup, on a really hot summer day? Nothing. Anyone that tells you differently is a dirty liar. Back there by the soda machine, though, what do we spy? BBQ Guy. Or I guess his name is Redbeard. That's what my husband says anyway - I'm inclined to believe him because I was paying more attention to the pulled pork. We needed lunch anyway, so we decided to go nuts and get us some gas station BBQ. We both had the pulled pork sandwich combos, which came with two sides - we had the beans and the white cheddar macaroni and cheese. Add sweet pickles on the side? YES PLEASE. Literally some of the best BBQ pulled pork ever. I've also never had gas station BBQ before, so I can easily say it's the best in that category as well. The homemade sauces were all amazing and hard to choose just one to slather my sandwich with. Redbeard was great to chat with, as with the other two employees at the store. We were even recognized when we came back later for drinks after our rafting trip and got another friendly hello. Is it okay that I want to fly back to Alaska just for gas station BBQ?
