When you fly, you expect the food at the airport not to impress. I mean you are trapped and you are limited on options, but Three Casks bucks that trend. Selamawet greeted me and promptly sat me on a late Monday night. After getting some fresh brewed tea, I ordered the Fried Green Tomato BLT with the TC Slaw. When it arrived, I was greeted with a sandwich with perfectly grilled sourdough bread, creamy pimento cheese, and crisp maple bacon. I got that wonderful crunch sound as I took my first bite and realized I'm in for something good. To keep with the tradition of the "Nashville Hot," the slaw packed its own heat, this coming from the sliced jalapeños. While not overly spicy, those that expect a traditional slaw, this is your warning. With over and hour until my plane began to board, I opted to finish off with something sweet. When Selamawet mentioned they had pecan pie, I was ready for something spectacular. This is where Three Crates return to normal airport fair. While the filling of the $10 slice was enjoyable, the crust was obviously from a frozen pie crust package. While the size was perfect for a single serving--it was less than an 1/8th and could have been a 1/10th size slice, the price was more deserving of some more. Overall the meal was great, but do yourself a favor and stop before dessert. read more

I guess I love this place because it is right next to my gate C20 at the Nashville airport. How can you not love a great bartender who is fast and makes sure you get your wine and delicious food ASAP ! After all, we have a flight to catch. I recommend the BAR B Q - whatever kind you want - I had the pulled pork, because you are going to drench it in their awesome bar B Q sauce anyway. If your ever in Nashville TN at the Airport (BNA), and have Gluten, Dairy and Whey allergies. You can be sure this is a safe place to have a meal. My wife have Gluten, Dairy and Whey allergies. She was able to order the BBQ Pulled Pork (without any sauce, it was so good that it didn't need any sauce), Slaw and the Fried Green Tomato. The server - Rafeale, paid attention to her allergies. And you know it's safe to eat when the Manager - Jenny, comes over to confirm your allergies. They have a designated fryer for Gluten allergies. So, She was able to make the Fried Green Tomato without the Butter Milk batter. It was the best thing ever. This meal was the best ending of her trip, visiting back home. I ordered several drinks - the bartenders are so nice and knowledgeable - especially if you're a whiskey lover. I only ordered an app - the Nashville hot chicken flatbread.... OH MY. Stopped Stopped by for breakfast on my redeye layover. Ordered the biscuits and gravy with eggs and hashbrowns... done perfectly and just what i needed/wanted. Served by a very gracious bartender, Bethany. She's awesome. When I asked for a Jameson's back to Irish up my coffee she recommended an AMAZING!!! Tennessee (Nelson's Greenbrier). Sour mash isn't normally not my thing but Mmm Good! I sipped most, saving just a little for my coffee. It was almost a crime. Bethany is a wealth of knowledge and good spirits ;-)... BUT wait! The Manager, James, gave me a sip of another really good Tennessee whisky and a splash of a truly amazingly smooth Pritchard's small batch that he's thinking of adding to the menu. Smooooooth. The nose has hints of aprocate with a nice peetyness, not too much. James definitely strikes me as a whisky afficionado. Been a very long time since I had this level of service and knowledge of their craft. If you're passing through make sure you stop by, and ask what they recommend. You will not be disappointed. The whisky menu is a truly impressive 3/8"~1/2" thick! Thank you Bethany and James! My stop by was the perfect close on the 1st vacation I've had in over a decade. read more

I ordered a breakfast sandwich and it was the saddest thing I've seen - basically no cheese, barely any sauce, just a fried egg & tomato slice between two pieces of bread. I had a side potato salad and it was 5 pieces of cut potato in a bowl like they were rationing. Server basically avoided eye contact with for a long time even when it came to giving me the check so I can leave for my flight. Everyone else's plates looked great. Not sure if it's a racism thing - I'll give them the benefit of the doubt there. But horrible service and food. read more
