During the photo review being told prices have increased over last year and then seeing a jump from $430 last year to $899 this year is mind boggling. We also received less pictures than we did last year. We contacted Ben at Smokey Mountain. His demeanor won us over and we took a chance and booked a session. The chance paid off! We explained our tight schedule and desires to Ben and our location on the lake. Ben visited the marina our boat would be docked at different times of the day to scout the conditions and got back to us with the best time to meet for pics. We met at 7:30 am and it was obvious the advance work Ben had put in and it helped with the setup. He also listened to what my daughter wanted and incorporated those wishes into the session. They took pics on our boat, the dock, the marina and other spots. Through multiple locations, outfit changes and poses, Ben was a dream to work with for my daughter and us. His commitment to my daughter's pics was appreciated. We received the pictures within the timeframe Ben told us and the results were better than the session! There were 7 of us, and the check-in was quick and easy. First you choose your background (saloon or formal living room for our party size), then they take the women back to choose the costumes. We can choose from short sassy dresses to long classy ones. You can buy a pair of fishnet pantyhose for $5 to keep. The guys also get dressed with western outfits with hats and gun holsters. They accessorize everyone before entering the set. The photographer was very experienced and told us how to sit and pose. We went through 5-6 poses and various expressions. It was a lot of fun. Once everyone was changed back, it took them about 5-10 min to load the pictures to the computer to let us choose from all of the shots. Additional prints are $25 each, added $5 for color print . Of course we had to buy extra!! Overall, a great experience.
