We were looking for a few getting ready shots, a few posed family shots, a few ceremony shots, and a few newlywed shots. We found Joyce Perlman and Randy Lutge online and had an informative, professional phone call with them before deciding to use them. Other photographers we called tried to push extra hours of photography on us, tell us what we wanted instead of listening to us and coming up with a plan together, and were not up front with their prices. With Joyce, we found communication easy and direct and they were willing to work with us on a photography plan that met our specific desires. As we were planning our wedding from a distance, we couldn't meet Joyce and Randy in Mendocino until the wedding week. Our in-person meeting confirmed their professionalism, and both she and Randy gave us delicious local restaurant recommendations. They also had some great logistical ideas about when and where to take family photos (they recommended taking them at McCallum House before walking over to the ceremony at the Crown Hall), and when and where to take our couple photos (walking out onto the bluffs after the wedding just the two of us), which doubled as a time to walk off the post-ceremony jitters together and still return to enjoy much of our cocktail hour with our guests. On our wedding day, they were on time, supportive of our changing photo needs, and helped with keeping us on track in terms of time. They were present and friendly at the ceremony without being pushy, and their local knowledge of the town of Mendocino and the lighting really added to the quality of their photos. We got SO MANY incredible shots, specifically our couple shots. The format of their website made it easy to download and share our photos with our guests after the wedding. For our wedding, we had 3 videographers: Allen, Jennifer, and Frank. They were shooting all different kinds of angles, they even had a drone. How awesome!! However, traffic held them back about an hour, but it was OK since we were kind of running behind schedule. Because of this, Allen was kind enough to refund me the extra 1 hour I paid for. My mother insisted and offered to pay for this, of course I couldn't say no. She found grape video from doing research online and viewing the sample videos they had on their website. The first thing that sold me was the sample video on their site, and I hadn't even met them yet. When we went to sample their videos and see what kind of work they did and pricing Tommy sat us down (us meaning half my family, we're Mexican so you know everyone wants to tag along) :o) Tommy was very accommodating and showed us some more samples. After viewing the sample videos I knew I needed to have them at my wedding. I couldn't wait to see how they would capture my day. I was a 7/7/7 bride and luckily was able to book them on the spot. A year passed and my wedding day arrived. I swear I blinked once and it was all over. Everything I had stressed about for over a year over in an instance. i never even had the chance to look at the centerpieces on the guest tables. My one advice to all brides: You MUST have a videographer, and if you can get grape. They were able to capture every single moment of my day. I was so happy to be able to view it later and notice and see all the details I had missed on that day. The videographers were professional, on time, and from the video quality very experienced.
