She was fiercely reluctant to leave her solitude and "stuff"...but I feel she is in a good place, with good people and surrounded by other seniors - some of whom she relates to, others maybe not so much (she is a tough cookie). Being a retired teacher and very involved in politics, environment, juvenile rehabilitation (amongst many other things that make me feel slightly unworthy...LOL as she is one to look up to!) it was hard for her to accept the reality of her life. I live in SF, CA. I grew up until age 7 in Michigan, spending summers in Ohio with my mom and grandma, sometimes my older brother too. My grandma taught me many things. I lived in the moment with her, picking berries as we floated down the river by her home on a canoe, to later make pie. We played piano, did ballet, wrote letters, cooked many meals, told endless stories. She taught me how to sew, how to make an entire outfit. I could go on and on about this amazing lady but this review is about Sunrise, right? Well, I have been here once. I plan to go back in the next few months. The 1st time I went, my son was 2 - now he is 4. The place is clean, well staffed and has upbeat lively old time music playing in the background (think "somewhere over the rainbow!"). I was worried about seeing my dear grandma in a "home." She took care of her parents, avoiding nursing homes for as long as possible. She took care of her ailing husbands in the same regard. So, to have to see her in a place that she worked to avoid putting those she loved....was hard. Sunrise helped alleviate this anguish with me. The people were warm, engaging and helpful. While I was there, I did not see too much interaction with my grandma. This worried me. It made me wonder how she was treated while I was not there. They would abruptly enter her room, do what they needed to do and then leave. I removed a star because I would have liked to see more warmth and engagement. I will be back soon and will observe any updates and report. But I can say, if you are considering an assisted living situation for someone you love - this is a place to consider. They do a good job here.

Amanda Senior Care provided our mom with consistently reliable, kind, and very professional in home care providers. This was during the pandemic ; their safety protocols with their staff and management of moms care was excellent. Our mom has high standards for who she allows to be part of her care team in her home. The two care givers Amanda's provided her with were "5 star", kind, patient and very attentive. (There was never a NO Show day or cancellation by one of the care givers, which we have experienced from other care services.). The care aides assisted with morning dressing, bathing, meal prep, PT exercises and really anything else to get mom's day off to a cheerful and positive start. I would say the admin. of the business exceeded our expectations , the in-home care aides they provided for mom were exemplary and we intend to continue to use their services .

He is kind, patient, and will make sure you're completely comfortable every step of the way. I was very anxious throughout my pregnancy for numerous reasons and expressed that during many appointments. Dr. Dan consistently checked on me and made sure that I was doing okay not only physically but also emotionally. I called him several times after hours, and it was never a problem. He took his time on the phone and made sure I was calm and feeling better before hanging up. He was truly a lifesaver. My delivery was a scary one, and I credit Dr. Dan for being an excellent, quick-thinking physician during a serious time. He got my baby out safely and knew exactly what steps to take to make sure my delivery didn't end up being critical. His years of experience made me feel confident that I was under the best care. Dr. Daniel Pesavento was a dream OB/GYN after semi-nighmarish experiences with my first two…read moredeliveries with Mc-high-volume OB practice's rushing me through on jacked up pitocin, and then doing unnecessary episiotomies that delayed my recovery--all because the guy on duty wanted to handle multiple deliveries and c-sections in the same day, without calling in help from one of his two practice partners. Dr. Dan is very personable, and has good sense of humor, no top of being excellent OB. I found him by talking on the down-low with the labor nurses who agreed the other practice had only 1 doc out of 3 worth his stuff, and Dr. Pesavento or Dr. Zimmerman were better options. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
