I received full mouth dental implants from Dr. Dominic Sabatini at Three Rivers Dental Greentree, Pittsburgh, PA. I made a mistake and told Dr. Sabatini that I was relocating to California. Shortly after arriving in California, my bottom dental implants became loose. I went to New Smile Prosthodontics in Murrietta, CA and Dr. Alfredo Paredes informed me that I had three dental implant failures. He stated that he would have to remove the failed implants and install new ones. A few months later my top dental implants became loose. I went back to Dr. Paredes and he informed me that I only had two of the four implants in tack, one implant was misaligned, and the other was missing a screw. According to their plan, I had to take out a personal loan to get my teeth fixed. So I did and will be paying years for teeth I don't believe were properly fixed. I do not think she was the original doctor, but she examined my infected tooth. I asked why was it infected if they did the root canal and crown. She said sometimes it's just bad teeth. What does that even mean? Please don't be condescending. Explain things to me like I am an adult. The tooth I paid thousands to fix had to be extracted. I asked the assistant if I could keep it because well I paid for it. The assistant was too scared to ask the doctor. I left and will never step foot in that office again. They have so much literature about veneers and implants, I wonder if they actually care about keeping teeth in the mouth. read more

This is a long overdue review of Three Rivers Dental. I have waited to write this review until the next phase of my treatment plan was completed. I scheduled to have 5 implants as a part of my restoration. I started out at the Cranberry office, then the Washington office and finishing the work at the Green Tree office. The first issue is they are not a team of offices. They operate independently and barely recognized each other as partnering offices. Basically saying we have no affiliation with the other offices. Second red Flag is requesting to be paid in FULL up front. Please don't do that. I didn't know what was going on in the news with the original Dr and his issues with be incarcerated. There is a great sense of no one in command. My fault for not getting a more detailed explanation of what my treatment plan was with detailed prices, Leiah failed terribly handling my case. I did request it several times. Regarding the quality of work. I had consulted with 2 other dr's after the work was completed by Dr. xxx, Both Dr's agreed that Dr.xxx's work was a failed restoration. Now in comparison I can see the difference. Dr.xxx had one of the implants fail and installed my front tooth crooked and too long, I paid to have his work redone. During the consultation they recommended I remove a back tooth. After my first surgery I didn't realize they didn't remove the tooth until I got home. Then they gave me a hard time about what to do next because I wasn't having them remove the tooth without anesthesia. I had to pay for anesthesia again to repair the FAILED implant and requested to have the tooth removed at this time. I WAKE UP AND NOTICED WITH MY TONGUE THE FORGOT TO REMOVE THE TOOTH AGAIN!! So they sedated me again and finally removed it. Lots of delays due to terrible communication with the lab that created the implants. They were constantly wrong in size and color. The color doesn't match my original teeth. In conclusion, they are not a dental team that has great concern for the outcome. Dr.xxx needs to be off his phone and pay more attention to the details of his work. I have had a lot of work over the years, 1st time the Dr didn't call to check in on me after surgery. I hope this helps someone else from having to go thru this TERRIBLE Experience. There are better options out there read more

I served a rural community for 5 years and couldn't get dental care. My dental work need was MASSIVE! I understand people's financial concerns, I get it. But, without teeth our health suffers terribly. These people were amazing from day one. They laid out the cost clearly, and were lovely, kind, proficient, and they followed through. I have such difficulty even giving TRD one star. Our son suffered from fluorosis. After doing A LOT of research about it, I found that there was a technique that cosmetically addressed the appearance of it. His case is not severe but did cover the majority of the front of the teeth's surfaces. After discussing it with our small town dentist I decided to find someone who could help our son. I had contacted several different dentists before finding TRD. As this a special condition, I was very thorough upon calling these dentists considering this particular type of treatment for his specific condition is not necessarily commonplace place. TRD claimed they did do this particular treatment. Despite the fact that they are a significant distance from us, I was elated and couldn't wait for his appointment. We arrived, filled out all of the new patient forms and waited. And waited some more. Finally when we got back I was asked why we have come in. I explained the situation and was promptly advised that they do NOT do that type of cosmetic dentistry and that we should consider our 8 year old son get his fairly new permanent teeth capped, all eight of them (the front four teeth on top and bottom). I explained that I had discussed the treatment I was looking for and that I had enquired about that treatment before making the appointment and driving 1.5 hours one way and how disappointed I was. They advised they would polish his teeth at no cost and for us to check our schedule for the crowns. I WAS DONE and left immediately. read more

My experience here was amazing. I met Dr. Ana Rudolph about a procedure I needed to get done. I was super anxious, but she really put my mind at ease and made me feel comfortable. She assured me that the procedure would go well and I had nothing to worry about. The procedure went great and I feel so confident with my new smile! Thank you! I was charged extra for my root canal and crown and not given a refund because I was told that I signed an agreement that stated if I overpaid by less than 5% I would not be refunded. After being seen May 9 they informed me that my services were not covered by insurance. I later called my insurance to find out they coded the cavity wrong and it was covered. After calling them for two months asking about a refund they have refused to call me back or return my funds. I went to the office today and told me they don't accept walk ins and refused to talk to me. Instead they called the cops because I asked to talk with someone. Cops came and they promised to call here it is 6 pm and NO CALL buyer beware! read more

Avoid the Greentree office, especially if you have a sensitive gag reflex. They deny patients care if taking X-rays are difficult due a sensitive gag reflex. You will be told to leave and to try the emergency room for antibiotics. It won't even occur to the employees to use an oral liquid anesthetic to try to calm the reflex. This whole practice is sales-focussed and it shows. Learn from my mistakes and go anywhere else... Two years ago I needed some dental work I had put off for way too long on account of being broke and being afraid of screechy, whiny, painful dental drills from a prior bad experience. I chose this office because of their advertisements for sedation. Mouthful of problems all fixed at once while I'm knocked out? Sounds great. Unfortunately I ended up needing 4 root canals and 4 matching crowns. Three Rivers quoted me $10k including the sedation (ouch). I knew they accepted my insurance - it's part of why I went there, so I couldn't fathom how the cost could be so high. If I had just read my own damn insurance policy I would have learned that the root canals and 50% of my crowns should have been covered, just not at Three Rivers for some reason. But whatever. I was in pain, not thinking clearly, and naively assumed a medical professional wouldn't steer me wrong. They needed a deposit before I left, so I paid it, came back to get my work done, and was on my way. A year and a half later, one of the molars in question developed sensitivity to hot and cold, so I went back to Three Rivers and asked about it during a routine cleaning. The dentist poked around it a bit, took zero x-rays, and told me there seemed to be nothing wrong. I wish I thought to press him on it, but again, if he didn't seem worried, why should I? 6 months later, just shy of the 2 year anniversary of the first batch of root canals/crowns, this same molar started throbbing and aching like crazy. Three Rivers ran an x-ray this time (finally) and determined it's re-infected and has to come out and be replaced with an implant. I assumed this would be expensive, but was NOT expecting a nearly $5k estimate. YIKES. Half of the cost of 4 root canals and crowns? HOW? This time I actually used my brain a bit and decided to think everything over before jumping into debt I don't need right now - in a pandemic while money is tight. They clearly expect people to second guess their prices because they REALLY pressure you to pay a non-refundable deposit before you leave the office that day. But despite the general vibe of this place, it is not in fact a used car lot. You can and SHOULD sleep on big financial decisions. I opted to get a second opinion with a specialist, who informed me that the original root canal on this molar was not done properly in the first place (somehow not surprising) and that not only could my tooth be saved with a root canal retreatment, it would be 100% covered by my insurance. Just to hear their side of the story, I called back Three Rivers to ask why their suggestion was to pull/implant. "Oh because specialists are expensive and there's no guarantee a re-treatment will work. You may eventually need it pulled anyway." they told me. What a ridiculous line of reasoning. Given the choice between spending $5000 and losing a tooth and spending $0 and potentially saving it, I'm going to take the "risk" and try to save it at no cost to me every time. So moral of the story: this place is a one-stop-shop where you'll pay a premium from your own pocket for shoddy dental work. If you need a specialist, go to a specialist. Also don't be fooled by their marketing - almost any office will sedate you if that's what you want. Despite it being their main claim to fame, they don't have a patent on the practice of sedation dentistry. And Larry, I can't wait for your generic, copy-pasted response you drop on every negative review. I wish I read up on you and your offices before I paid you anything in the first place, but I will make it a point to make sure nobody I know (and with luck, some I don't) gives you another dime. read more

They screwed up my jaw and I didn't know until after I saw a reputable dentist and Endodontist that I never needed a root canal and that the crown was ill-fitted with cement leaking into my jaw bone! I made the mistake of telling Three Rivers Dental Group what I learned from these other two professionals, and they (TRDG) handwrote notes stating that they had asked me to come in to correct their mistakes...THEY NEVER DID after a year and a half!!!!! The dentist they claim who did my root canal is the daughter of the owner who was convicted of killing his wife (her mother) on a safari in Africa. This woman NEVER touched me and I have never met her in my life! This could be a movie drama on its own that I want NO part of! I would love to give a zero to these con artists. I knew I would need dentures and was so happy to find that I could get temporary ones the day of extraction. The biggest problem would be paying for them. The office manager who, appeared helpful, but was a con man, got me approved for $7000. on Care Credit. I was going through some deep depression at the time, with another issue and this place seemed to cash in on my suffering. I was told, by the office manager, to get the most expensive dentures. When I said I couldn't afford it and my husband won't be happy, he told me not to tell my husband how much it cost. Really???? What kind of scum says that???? Then, he printed out paperwork and just told me to sign. I didn't read it. BIG MISTAKE!!!!! I trusted them. The day of extraction, they put in my temporary dentures and sent me home. When I looked in the mirror, I was HORRIFIED!!!! I looked like some kind of monster. When I called and told them that, I was told that it would take time to adjust. I cried for days......... I finally got my permanent dentures. They looked fake! A few visits later, for yet ANOTHER..........adjustment, I mentioned that to the doctor. I said the dentures looked fake since they were straight across. She told me she ordered them, that way. REALLY????? She didn't ask me. I'm paying a fortune and not getting anything of good quality. Time came and went with my other personal issues. A couple of times I had to go back for relining. Who knew it melted and disappeared after a short time? Again, more personal issues with my depression. Then, I contacted them, not long ago. I told them my bottom dentures keep falling out. I can't eat. I'm in severe pain in my mouth. Finally, I got an appointment and we drove an hour to get there. I had asked if there would be a fee but never got an answer. Not until I walked in and the receptionist told me how much I had to pay, before being seen. I just looked at her and told her I had no money with me. I wasn't told it would cost anything. She actually, had the nerve to tell me to reschedule, instead of telling me I could send them money, the next day. I flipped out. After being in traffic for an hour, mouth pain, stress, depression, then this.....I yelled at them and slammed the door as I left. I really had no intention of slamming the door but it just flung back. I sent them another message on the website about the pain and how the dentures weren't fitting right. The owner, had the nerve.............to offer me dental implants. He would take $1500. off my bill of how many tens of thousands of dollars........... He also had a copy of the paper I was conned into signing, saying that the bottom dentures would never fit well. I would never have signed that, if I had read it. I can't afford to fight them in court. All I can do is warn people of the unethical actions. Please..........don't go to this firm. I am not able to chew food which is causing stomach problems. I'm in constant pain. Then, I had to put out money I can't afford to spend, to see another dentist. It will cost me at least another $2000. to get replacement dentures. They are not specialist so I decided to go to a previous specialist I had seen for a root canal in the past. Before I will begin this review, let me just go ahead and point out that the staff was very nice and friendly and that the office was beautiful. Those are only pleasant things about my experience with Three Rivers Dental in Greentree. I called in on a Monday around 10:00 a.m. and was booked an appointment for the same day at 1:30 p.m. Does it sound too good to be true? Spoiler alert; it was. I asked for a cleaning and x-rays to done, which shouldn't have been a problem. I was a new patient, so they asked that I come 15 minutes early to fill out some forms regarding my medical history. I arrived at 1:10. I was not taken back until 2. This wouldnt have bothered me, had the rest of my appointment gone smoothly (it didn't.) When I was taken back, I was given x-rays by a new employee or intern who clearly had no idea what she doing and was not communicating with her fellow employees. She forgot to use the lead drapes they use for x-rays (yay for fucking cancer, thanks for that) and cut my mouth on the mouth piece, not once, but twice. She did not show me the x-rays afterward and did not go over any details regarding my cleaning. She then stood around asking me questions, appearing to be waiting for the hygienist to magically appear. This is about a half hour later, 2:30 ish. I waited another 15 minutes for her to start the cleaning or go get someone who would when the doctor came in and checked my teeth with a mirror and then left. No cleaning performed, and she too, didn't go over my x-rays with me. The dentist is suppose to come in AFTER the full clean. They then proceeded to try and check me out without doing any cleaning whatsoever. I complained and said that I booked a full cleaning with a hygienist. I was told I didn't need one, which was bullshit, seeing as I hadn't been to a dentist in over a year. Appearing to simply want to placate me, another women came in, did the most half-assed polish and scaling I have had (in that order), cut my gums in five different places, and did NOT do the full cleaning that I had booked. So now my insurance has been billed for a cleaning and x-rays that could have been better performed by a team of 10 years olds. I only get one of these appointments every 6 months. Thank you Three Rivers Dental for the worst experience in a dentistry I've ever had, as well as for wasting 2 hours of my only day off this week. Having dental work done is not one of my favorite activities, but the staff at 3 Rivers make it as pleasant as possible. Everyone does their best to be friendly, happy, and make you comfortable. I had a root treatment, Cap, and cavity procedure that took over two hours, but with the help of gas and conversation the time went very quickly. I had no idea I was in the chair that long. Amazing place!! I had to have an emergency root canal during this covid-19 pandemic and was treated better then I could have ever imagined. The Dr. was very kind and funny which made the whole experience that much better. I am terrified of dental work, but he made me feel like I was hanging out with old friends. VERY CALMING. I am now post op three days and I have had ZERO PAIN. HOW CAN YOU HAVE A ROOT CANAL AND HAVE NO PAIN AFTERWARDS. Hats off to this place. I love this dental office. I took my 7 year old grandson here last year and the staff and doctor were great. He loved it there. He said "they are so nice to me as soon as I walk in the door everybody says hi Mason." He needed to return for some dental work and he had a great experience. They put headphones on him so he could watch tv and really put him at ease. That is what they do! They explain treatment and cost in a way I really appreciate. I will never take him anywhere else. If you don't like the way they treat you and speak up about it, they will threaten to take legal action against you. They coerce patients into signing away their right to complain about poor treatment (eg: you wanna see a refund for any reason, even for something what was their fault? You'd better comply!). When I went for a check up (August 2017) their office convinced me to be fitted for a night guard. I only agreed after one of their staff members assured me that it's covered by my insurance. They told me that I would only have to pay my deductible (which is $50) and come back in a couple of weeks to pick it up. A few days after my appointment, I checked my insurance claim online and noticed something off. I contacted my dental plan and they told me that night guards are absolutely not covered and that my claim is in the process of being denied. By the way, the night guard is over $300! I contacted the Greentree office and they were very unhelpful. They rushed to end the conversation and gave me very vague information (ie: they need to get in touch with the lab, then it became they're waiting to hear back from the lab, etc). I've contacted twice in over two weeks and got nowhere in terms of a resolution or real answers as to what's going on. Not once did they reach out to me proactively, despite telling me they will get in touch (I had to call first every single time). They did nothing to keep me abreast of the situation nor showed some sort of transparency regarding the process. And what does the lab have to do with the situation to begin with? One of their employees gave me wrong information (whether through negligence or on purpose) to get me to pay for a product that I would've otherwise declined. They should have offered me a refund the first time I contacted them with the right information. I even told them that I can't afford $300. Their response was some non-committal drivel about "waiting for the lab." And to make it even better, they finally got in touch with me when I made a review (this review) detailing their dishonesty. They tried to force me to sign a document to shut me up. They told me they can't give me any of my money until I do so and it's just "company policy." This contract would allow them to take legal action against me every time I spoke or wrote about their company in a way that they don't like. That seemed really offensive to me so I sought legal advice on the matter. Multiple attorney friends told me that they can't sue patients for making factual statements on review websites - which their owner threatened to do to some other reviewers on Yelp - and signing away my first amendment rights is worth a lot more than just some dental work. After presenting their management team with a counter contract on how to iron this situation out, they've since ignored me. Apparently, they don't like the taste of own medicine. read more

Please read this, especially if you may be looking into a new dentist. I have never written a yelp review, but I feel very strongly against this practice and want to save anyone the burden... This group is just awful... My appointment was at the beginning of January... I went in knowing I had neglected my teeth and expected that I would need a little work done, HOWEVER, they caught nothing until I asked them to take a closer look at an area that had been bothering me. After I brought this to their attention the dentist told me I was going to need, not one, but TWO CROWNS! I was directed to a small office to discuss how I would proceed with paying for the procedure since my insurance only covers preventative care. It was going to run me $2300.00 that I simply did not have on hand. MISTAKE: I signed for a financing option to help cover the costs. After I left I started to fixate on the fact that I had to tell them to find the problem and the dentist really left no other explanation other than I needed a crown bc my teeth were occasionally sensitive. I decided to get a second opinion from my old, childhood dentist. I had my appointment with him this past Monday. Prior to my going I had to call Three Rivers Dental (Greentree) THREE times to get a release form emailed to me so that they could send my x-rays to my old dentist. I finally filled out the form, faxed it to them (with a confirmed status) and fun fact! THEY NEVER SENT DOWN MY X-RAYS. My dentist's secretary called to see if maybe they just typed the email incorrectly, but conveniently enough, whoever is in charge of that was not in the office--awesome. So I paid for new x-rays, and as if I wasn't already disgusted by the unprofessionalism at Three Rivers Dental (Greentree) I could only laugh at my dentist's reaction... he was completely perplexed as to why they'd recommend TWO CROWNS when I, in fact, only needed one cavity filled in that area. He also caught two other small cavities that they neglected to find and checked my insurance to see if it would cover a second cleaning bc (and I saw the x-rays) they left a lot behind in my cleaning at Three Rivers Dental (Greentree). To proceed, I received an email from their office clerk asking me to sign a refund and release form to refund the money I didn't use from the lending company. In any normal circumstances, I would happily sign, but they were trying to pull a fast one on me by placing a rider that stated--in more or less words--that I'd remove my negative reviews for them on any form of social media or they would not refund the money/fine me $1,000.00. They also signed as a "witness" to my signature prior to me even signing the document... To make my long story short, I threw a lot of this back in their direction. They'll only yell at you and tell you "this is our policy" but note, that policy is illegal. You cannot hold my funds over my negative social media review... My issue is now resolved. Please do yourself a favor and do NOT go here!! Here is my experience: I went in for what was supposed to be a "complimentary" new patient exam, which included X-rays. After the dental assistant did a quick cleaning of my teeth, the dentist came in. She said I needed a root canal and two crowns. Additionally, my tooth was pretty infected so I would need antibiotics and pain medication. After a short visit, I met with Levi- the office manager- to discuss pricing. I felt like I was negotiating with a used car salesman. He initially quoted me a price of $5500!! Then, he said he'd discount it to $4700. I asked him for a breakdown of pricing and he wouldn't provide it. When I asked him how much less it would be if I didn't have iv sedation and just took an oral sedative, he said the price was the same. He tried to pressure me into moving forward, but I told him I needed to think on it. When I didn't commit to the financing, they were pretty much done with me. I asked about getting my Rx for the antibiotics, they said they wouldn't write me a script unless I paid $95 for the appointment. Real compassionate place. So, I paid the $95. The next day, I emailed to ask for a copy of my X-rays. I wanted to get a second opinion and another quote. They said I would have to pay $100 to get a copy of any of my records!!! Wtf!!!
