Great place! Staff is warm, friendly, and will help you if you're looking for a specific item. Plenty of stuff here. Between the two floors, you can lose track of time and end up browsing for hours. Sometimes you have to be lucky to find exactly what you're looking for. Some sellers will lower prices if you ask, particularly for items under $100. Huge selection of vintage items from tea sets to jewelry. Perfect place if you're into that kind of stuff. However, not even 3 minutes into being in the store my partner and I were being followed by one of the employees (white, younger, long hair) It appeared that she was also shopping because of how close she was to us at every turn. There was also a man in there shopping but she failed to follow him in the same manner. I'm not sure if they have a theft problem but I have no interest in stealing a bunch of old stuff. Unfortunately we won't be back but I do hope someone actually reads this and lets her know if you're going to follow people, at last try to be discreet. This place is pure Heaven on earth. As soon as you walk in you know you're in some place special and you're going to find something amazing. I could literally stay there all day and not get bored. You've gotta see it to believe it. I came in thinking this was simply another thrift store. NO, ITS NOT! I felt like a kid walking into Willy Wonka's Factory. Every item was curated and staged to perfection. I bought this beautiful bracelet at a bit under $10. The service was wonderful. My item was wrapped neatly in tissue paper and placed in the tiniest little refined paper bag. I guarantee I'll be back. I know I'm going on and on but my mind is blown. lol read more

This antique shop gave me all the feels! When we walked in, there were two ladies at the front counter, and they did not acknowledge us at all. They were having a conversation, and it took them about 10 minutes of us being in the store for them to finally say hello. Other than that, I had the absolute best time browsing the store and all the interesting, nostalgic, and weird finds. But staying in this store for an hour and a half and didn't even finish looking at everything. There were times I was brought to tears by the feelings of nostalgia that were awakened in me when I came across something from my childhood. There were a few pricey items for things that were a bit rare, but for an antique shop, I thought the prices were very fair and reasonable. This mall is GREAT for an afternoon of treasure hunting. Many many items throughout history to go through. You could spend hours going through everything. Another reviewer mentioned not in a great area... the area is just fine! There is ample parking across the street from the library and there is nothing to be frightened of here! The neighborhood is diverse but very safe. It makes for an enjoyable afternoon and you can find some very nice and unique treasures. Highly recommended. read more

Cute antique store! Not particularly in the most desirable location but worth checking out at least once if you're up for the trip! I have been here twice now and the ladies working have been very kind each time! They have two levels full of goodies - the basement is not to be overlooked! You can find all sorts of different things here and I'm happy to say that it's not desperate to fill the shelves with "junk" and cheap thrift-store like items like some antique stores will occasionally do. They have a nice assortment of items and gadgets both big and small. :) The variety is lovely! Not the biggest antique mall but also not the smallest. It's always a treasure hunt here--whether for Pyrex and Fiestaware, the perfect accent piece for my living room, a cedar chest for my closet, some baubles or scarves to wear to a holiday party, or (MY FAVORITE) the unknown that I just HAVE to have! Selection varies widely. You never know if that piece you're admiring will still be there, so buy it if you want it. I like that they're adding craftspeople who specialize in homemade/handicrafts. (Bought some lovely soaps here recently as holiday gifts.) This is truly becoming a store that serves many purposes: an antique/resale store AND an eclectic gift shop of sort, which is harder and harder to find in this Amazon shopping economy. Plan to spend some time browsing. And check out their late nights for the owners' excellent customer service and fun extras--Santa, delicious goodies, maybe a fortune teller, even! This is my favorite antique mall for a plethora of reasons. - The variations in taste are fantastic - Most of the prices are SUPER reasonable (check for small sale signs hanging in many booths) - There are a TON of booths both up and down - Great lunch spots nearby Many of the dealers work there so I always ask them which booth is theirs. That way you sometimes can get significant discounts since they are there in person. I do miss the coffee shop they briefly had but I just go down the block and get a coffee to go from another restaurant. I've found some killer pieces here. Love it. read more

For many years this has been one of my favorite stores and today I was rushed out of the store 10 minutes before closing, several announcemts were made at 4:45 that the store was closed. When I made it up to the front desk at 4:48 I looked at my phone again and informed the employees that it was 4:49 asked the employee if their clocks were set ahead, the female employee replied no and that maybe my phone was behind. I even walked to the grocery store next door after I left to verify the time. I completely understand people have lives outside of thier jobs, however professionalism is very important. I felt rushed and that they were very rude. The woman behind the register had already began closing out her register and counting the registers bank. I am not sure how I feel about shopping here again. I am very disappointed. I have shopped with Three sisters for so many years I have lost count. This is not normal of them, maybe the employees are getting worn out from the buiness and need a moral booster and a vacation. I've been going to Three Sisters for years and every time has been a pleasant experience! Unfortunately, on June 18th, I went to browse and I felt like I was racially profiled! When I initially walked in, only one of the three workers greeted me. When my 'white' friend walked in shortly after, she was greeted by all! I ignored it and said to myself, "maybe they ALL didn't see me even though the bell rings when you enter"! I walked around upstairs then went downstairs. The older man decided to walk down as well. I looked at him as I was walking down the stairs and he had a disgruntled look on his face. Not one time did he ask if I needed anything while he was 'working' downstairs! When another patron came down, he greeted her and began talking about the weather! I was upset by this time and wanted to confirm that he was watching me. So I went back upstairs and he came soon after. I decided not to bring it to their attention because all they'd do is deny it and I surely didn't want to cause a scene! I can't say I'll never go back but it'll be awhile before I do. Hopefully the owners will see this review and do some sensitivity training. During these times, I understand business owners are on high alert; however, there are ways to protect your property! This business has cameras!!! Not all Black people are thieves and murders just like not all White people are racist! I'm not looking for an apology or anything-just want this experience to be known by all who reads it. read more

This is a case where I wish I could give a half star rating, but round this one up and go for 4 stars. Yes, if you come later in the day towards close, they'll totally remind you repeatedly they're closing, but come on, if you come to this place at 4:45 and expect to see everything you're nuts and deserve to be chased out. The owner and his daughters are super nice, there are a few cold souls working here however who could use some customer service know-how, not intentionally rude, just not well versed in people. Prices are for the most part totally fair and in some cases, downright deals. Yes, there's the occasional seller who is "high on something" but it's rare to see here. My main gripe is relatively recent. I come here 2-3 times a month, it's that good, and I noticed they have a big security monitor in front now, not shocked with the area changing that they've had theft issues. What I don't appreciate is being tailed by an employee 75% of my visit, and I mean TAILED! Full on, 6 feet behind me watching my every move. Just pat me down when entering and exiting next time if you're that worried, and I wasn't the only one. Not a good way to bring folks who are new back. Luckily, I've been loyal and know what I'd be missing if I stopped. read more

Well, here is one more update....because I truly used to LOVE this place.....I just went again to see what was going on, and the big letters on the front of the store that used to say "Three Sisters Antique Mall", now say "Three Sisters Resale Mall".......that explains alot. I really would hate to see this place go out of business as so many other businesses have due to this economy. They are obviously trying to stay alive. More CHANGE. There are TWO LEVELS of shop space, so be sure to go downstairs too. I have made this a regular haunt since I bought a marble end table for a seventy five bucks. I was going to a bar on a Friday night and saw it in the window. I have found some great treasures here. The costume jewelry can be a little pricey, but there are some great trinkets if you are willing to take the time and peruse all levels. They are not a furniture based antique store, they do more decor, lighting and collectible treasures. I have been a loyal customer for many years, going back to the days when Blue Island was full of antique stores. I still stop by there regularly, even though the area is not very welcoming, visiting every four to five weeks. I still believe the store has lots of worthwhile merchandise, but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Don't come too early or too late - they sometimes are late in opening, rush you out if you arrive too close to closing time, and on one occasion, the place was closed 25 minutes before posted time. Recently, the cashier refused to take my $100 bill (New from the bank, so no chance of it being bad)for $35 worth of purchases because I was their first real customer and she didn't want to use up her change.(This was near noon on a Saturday morning) She suggested I wander up and down the Street and find my own change, despite the fact there were other employees standing at the counter she could have sent to solve this problem. Yikes! Hello Three Sisters...you are not Amazon. In this day and age, Customer service should be the bread and butter of any brick and mortar store. read more

I have been going here, once a year over the past 3 years. Lots of stuff, but the same stuff. I see the same items every year. This last time I went, I saw a certain vase priced at $7, then in another spot, the same vase priced at $8. Then, yet another of the same vase in another part of the store with a price tag of $30 on it! It's not all antiques either. I have been a customer for the past eight years and shop this store at least once a month. I have a friend who lives in South Elgin and for the past six months she has had me out on the "hunt" looking for a buffet/back bar, a large piece of furniture. Over the past few months I have found at least five possibilities for her in your store. I've taken pictures and sent them to her and she has liked them all, but of course wants to see them in person. My friend has been dying to get out here and shop your store unfortunately due to the distance and her work hours its difficult for her to get off of work and to get out here before you close even on weekends. A couple weeks back I received your "17th Anniversary Sale" postcard in the mail. I got so excited and called my friend. I told her you had extended hours on Monday, July 15th and were open until 8:30 pm along with a store wide sale. Finally! Now she was going to have to make arrangements to get her brother's truck (she planned on buying & coming home with furniture), drive over an hour to get here and then we'd have at least an hour if not more to shop the store. We set the date and she came all the way out for this. On Monday night 7/15 at 7:00 pm we walked into Three Sisters and four women were sitting, conversing at the desk, they all turned around and looked at us as we entered, they then turned their heads back and continued talking to each other never acknowledged us let alone said "Hello" not one word, how RUDE! We started shopping the store and walked the whole first floor (we were the only 2 customers in the store the whole time). I came across some cookies on the table and asked if I could have one. The woman gave me a dirty look then shook her head yes, RUDE again! As we started to go down the stairs to the basement, I noticed the lights over the stairs were off (lights into basement still on) so I started going down when someone yelled out "basement is closed"! We looked at each other then our phones to check the time and it was now only 7:40 pm. I had to approach the women all still sitting at the desk, not moving (all looking at me as if I did something wrong). I was thinking "did they not get the memo, did they not all know what was going on, that this was the 17th anniversary weekend"? I pulled my postcard from my purse and pointed to the clock on the wall, I said "the postcard reads you are open until 8:30 pm it is only 7:40 pm". They all looked at each other and mumbled, yet not one of them said a word to us. We felt awkward and just stood there, waiting for one of them to get up and turn on the basement lights... NOPE! After about 3 minutes I said "Is someone going to turn on the lights"? Again they said "the basement is closed and the air is off". I repeated myself and pulled out my postcard again, holding it up to show them that it reads Monday 11:00 am - 8:30 pm. Not one of these women moved or said a word they just looked at me and at each other, they refused and that was it. I then asked about the car show and again they looked like they had no idea what I was talking about. SERIOUSLY?!! We have NEVER experienced such disrespect and attitude from so many employees at once in any store. Not one of them said a word when we walked in why? God forbid they say "hello" or "welcome" at the least they should have said "we are closing early today" maybe "we already turned off the air" how about "the basement is closed already" or "we are closing the basement, if you want to look, go down first". Four women sitting there and nothing, not a word! All four of these women had to leave at the same time? Not one was working until 8:30, the scheduled time of closing? Not one of them thought we might buy something of theirs? WOW! What a waste of time& gas for us! What a loss for the dealers who have items for sale and your store! My friend was so excited to finally get out here, shop the store and most likely come home with the furniture piece she has been dying to get. I wonder if all the other dealers know that the store is closed whenever the women working the desk decide they are done for the day? This answers why all the stuff in this place is there for years and nothing sells! Absolutely no excuse is acceptable for this kind of treatment. You have not only lost me but, several other customers. I'd like to think you know nothing about this but, I know you've heard complaints before and even worse, I have a feeling that you were one of the women sitting there.
