UPDATE: i went to the shop again to talk to sherry which was the mean employee and there was a new…read morelady there! she was the sweetest lady i have met her name was kathy i told her about it and she was so sweet and understanding and said she will talk to sherry because that was not okay wish every employee was this sweet! if you come here i recommend going on these days this is when kathy works wednesday thursday 4-7 saturday all day sunday 12-4 (old review) if i could rate this place zero stars i would‼‼ the lady who runs the store is so insanely rude, this was barely our second time in this shop we couldn't afford anything the first time unfortunately but this time i was in the shop with my boyfriend because i love antique and vintage items we were window shopping for the meantime to give him ideas of what to get me not kissing not hugging or anything we were in there for 30 minutes and keep in mind i was being very polite to her and smiling and i asked her what time they close and she said 7 and 20 minutes later she very confrontationally asked "i have to ask do you plan on staying till 7" which obviously not? and we went to the next section already uncomfortable seeing as she stares at us the entire time with a smug look on her face and 10 minutes later she went to us and while raising her voice said "okay you two out! youve done this to me before this isnt your place to be kissing and hugging get out now!" and i explained to her "we weren't doing anything" and she said "out now" and we left and im a sensitive person and that made me cry im a very polite person she had no reason to act that way towards us just because we are a young couple doesnt mean we are going to be kissing 24/7 i don't even allow public displays of affection she was very rude and fyi she never has customers its been over a month since i went before today and there was the exact same items as last time she only ever gets customers because of her slot machines. zero stars!!!

I've been coming to The Market Place my whole entire life. My family are from Crete so I've always…read morestopped in to see if there happen to be any old family post cards of ancestral photos that have maybe made their way into the shop, or anything of their old neighbors. You'll definitely need at least an hour and a half to make it through the whole marketplace, because it's jam packed with antiquities. The room you initially enter was originally built in 1853 and was the First Congregational Church of Crete. You can see this in the architecture and the stained glass windows which still bear the names of the family's who paid for the windows. Most of my postcard collection comes from this shop, as they always have some of the most beautiful and unique vintage postcards I've ever seen. The pricing has gone up a bit I've noticed, but not to anything unreasonable. If you visit in summer, the front is a bit warmer than as you make your way throughout, but still worth the visit. They have all kinds of little bits and bobs everywhere, and there's something for everyone there. I'm looking forward to my next visit home so my dad and I can go Christmas shopping.

The inside is spacious and very well organized into categories like Media, Antiques, Jewelry, Glassware, Plants, Lighting, Crafts, and more. The Antiques section was my favorite as there was clothing, toys, shoes, and other fun blasts from the past. I also enjoyed their Plant Shop that had both living and fake plants of all sizes. The staff did note that the Frankfort location has more home decor while the Orland Park location has more clothing. They have a donation drop off around back of the building for the community to give away items. All profits benefit The Bridge Teen Center in Orland Park which helps fund holistic programs to troubled teens in the area. So happy I stopped in to take a look around!

I found some very good deals and made a purchase. I seen a used ottoman I liked, but for the price, I could get it new elsewhere. Some of their furniture is new and it will be noted new and that seemed worth it.

There are lots of fabrics and they are available for home visits. I liked it so much that I was very dismayed to see a dog there when we visited. I get it, you don't have much foot traffic but a dog just doesn't belong in the public part of a business. Granted, it was a tiny, extremely quiet and well behaved dog who went immediately to sleep. But I haven't brought my daughter back here because she has such severe dog allergies. Please keep the dog in the office part! I do plan a return visit and sure hope there aren't any dogs to greet me, no matter how cute and well behaved they are.

Firstly, what I really enjoy about this Goodwill that I always try to find at other locations is that it has a restroom and a fair amount of changing rooms. This is one of the busiest Goodwill locations that we have ever been to and I reviewed a lot of Goodwill locations! It's almost like Black Friday inside. Staff here was friendly and courteous and plenty of mine was will be replenished as quickly as they were taken off the shelves. Fair selection of men's clothing though I didn't find too much for myself. Great selection of picture frames and wall hangings as well. If you're going to tape up the boxes, then make sure all components are in the box or just throw it away. These are FREE donations and you are stealing people's money. They think they are getting a complete puzzle or game. Top it off, this location is dirty, unorganized, and a mess. Do better.

My very rare 5 star review…read more I absolutely love a great antique mall, especially one that is well organized with so many unique booths and treasures that you could easily forget about every other shop. I was especially impressed when I saw they advertised Chicago street signs on their Facebook page. I quickly called and asked if they could please hold one for me, and to my surprise, they did. That was a big deal to me because many antique malls will not hold items. Even better, when I arrived, the sign was still available and I was able to purchase it for the exact price I was quoted. For that, I was truly grateful. The only downside of my visit was that the store was very crowded, so I did not get the chance to keep browsing the way I wanted to. I had every intention of spending more money, but my $100+ purchase was enough for the day. Overall, this is an awesome shop, and I honestly think I just found my new favorite antique mall!
