Threshold Vineyards showed up at the Houston Rodeo and I took their card and vowed to check this place out. Really easy drive (about an hour from Houston) AND it's next to a Bee Farm. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This has some seating indoors and some outdoors, so going during the fall is probably ideal. Not a huge space, but when I arrived on a 100-degree day, there were plenty of seats to choose from.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I did two different flights- the sparkling and the tasting. I'm more of a red lover, but the Blanc Du Bois semi-sweet is one of the only whites I've REALLY enjoyed (I received a tasting of this at the rodeo and wanted to check out more options here since I loved it so much). There are only two sparkling options at the moment, so I tried both. The real star was the Belle for me. I can definitely see myself taking this to brunch or enjoying while cooking a meal. It is light and refreshing and you can totally taste the fruity guava notes in it. The Blanc Du Bois regular is not sweet enough for me which is probably why I enjoy the Semi Sweet so much. Of course, I left with a bottle of this as well. I'd like to come back and try their Reds- but definitely something I'll have to do in the future. If you're already out this way, you can taste some wine and then book a Bee-Keeping class which I really enjoyed. read more

I HIGHLY recommend going out and giving this local family some business. You'll have a great time and taste some delicious wines as well. This place is SO ADORABLE!!! It is a small, local winery run by a family. You meet all of them - the mom, dad and their grown children (sometimes all, sometimes only a few) as well as even an uncle. They have set times for wine tastings. When you get there, you get your own table for your party (they have inside & outside tables) and they introduce you to the wines and which they grow at their vineyard & give you a history of the place. They also have snack trays that you can order with grapes, cheese and meats. Those are also all super yummy. Normally, I'm not a fan of drier wines. But I liked EVERY wine they had us try. I also tried a the sangria (I think it was) that was not part of the tasting wines, and I was not a fan of that because it tasted far too much like champagne. They are small, so they only make 3-5 different wines every year. But each one is such high quality. Their son, who is the mastermind winemaker, and he is very sweet (and super smart) and will answer all your questions about his process and what's upcoming. Just like the inside, the outside is very cute & quaint. They have a patio with some tables and then some acres with their vines. Unfortunately, we did not come when there were grapes on the vine, so everything we saw was bare. But that's just a reason to come back! Since it's such a small operation, the dad also gave us a you're of when they barrel and do wine science! And since I studied architecture, he also asked for my opinion on their thoughts of expanding their building because they are running out of room! read more

Hosted a bachelorette party and it was awesome! Communication for planning was prompt and the day of was perfect. Faith guided our group through a tasting and was extremely friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We got lucky enough to have a tour of the Winery since it was a quiet day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The flower garden next to the deck is gorgeous and Cedar the puppy was a crowd favorite.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would definitely recommend trying the Texas Rosado sparking Rose and the charcutier board. read more

Went to Threshold yesterday on a beautiful April day. We tried the whites which were a little sweet overall for our taste, but bought their driest wine and really enjoyed it with a picnic. A friend of mine came out from California to visit for a weekend. He has seen his fair share of wineries back in Cali and was impressed with what Threshold Vineyards had to offer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The weather was warm and humid, but it didn't stop us from sitting outside where we enjoyed a pleasant view of the property over a charcuterie of meats and cheeses, and of course the wine tasting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The server was cheerful and informative on the wines that she brought out for tasting. My buddy was kind enough to purchase a bottle of merlot for my wife and I, which we liked. This is a great new winery to the area. Smaller place that is family owned and operated. Casual atmosphere but they are very hospitable and will go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and having a good time. Nice change of pace from some of the larger wineries that can feel a bit sterile and stuffy. They also take great pride in their wines - and they make some good ones. Mostly lighter wines that pair well with a warm Texas day. Fair prices and beautiful grounds to enjoy it all on. They actually grow the grapes for their signature white wine - so you can enjoy a glass while looking out over a field of grape vines it came from - which is a rarity in Texas. Less than an hour away from Houston, so makes a great day trip. Definitely will be back. read more

This is our go to winery, considered our home base. The wines are great but what makes this winery is the Jeter family and Faith (behind the bar). Faith will provide specifics about each wine along with the history of the winery. A must visit winery as you tour wineries in the area. read more
