Quaint little country winery. Pulled up and instantly felt like we were on a mini farm tour. chickens roaming everywhere and the cutest baby chicks stealing the show. They also had mules and alpacas... but they were definitely on "do not disturb" mode. Wine tasting was 5 for $15, and I appreciated how detailed their menu was. It actually made choosing feel less like a guessing game. Bonus: you can mix it up with frozen drinks too, and honestly, everything we tried had great flavor. Food check: Charcuterie board was good, just wish it had a little more protein (felt a little light on the meats). Pizza though? Crispy, tasty, and did exactly what it needed to do alongside the wine Overall, such a sweet, laid-back experience. Sweet little winery near Round Top. The whites were very good. The owner seems lovely! They have a cute little market area in the winery with neat apothecary style herbs and fun wool. They also have friendly chickens and alpacas. Worth a stop for the whites. Also, the playlist was terrific! read more

My new favorite place to drink even if I have to travel to get there! Loved the atmosphere and of course - the drinks! The owner Ashley is truly a marvelous and charming lady! She takes good care of everyone that walks through the door and everyone loves her. She and her folks have come up with a creative way to preserve the legacy of the family by putting their attractive family members on the bottle labels and sharing their stories...which are so much fun to hear! Also, Ashley makes jewelry! It was so hard deciding which pieces to bring home! The best part (besides Ashley) is the wine slushies! You really can't go wrong with any of the flavors. There's four machines or you can mix them! Oh, and if you're worried about driving out to Round Top and heading back home after all the drinks...don't fret! What an amazing find! Such a cute set up with the chairs and tables on the front lawn. I'm a sucker for cafe lights so that added perk just made it that much cuter for me. We enjoyed the chickens and roosters that seemed to have freedom to move around as pleased but the alpacas and donkeys were our favorite. We did each get a flight of wine and for the most part enjoyed all of them. Some were a bit sweet for our taste but we all agreed on the Zia Bella to share and it was great. Would most definitely recommend this spot to friends and would go again whenever in the area. read more

While visiting Fayetteville for the Good Old Summertime Bicycle Classic the first weekend in June, my husband and I wanted to take in some local flavors! This was a delightful stop. The atmosphere was very country which we loved since we both grew up on a farm. Adorable cottages on the property that are available to rent through Airbnb I believe. The tasting room was in the barn. The friendly vintners were happy to help us make our selections. I selected 3 white and 2 red. I preferred the reds but may have appreciated the whites more if they had been served chilled (my taste preference) however all were room temperature. We enjoyed them outside amongst the feathered friends featuring all sorts of chickens, roosters and Guineas. Now the wine is not Napa quality so don't expect that but it is potable. The experience and environment is what makes it worth the stop to try something a little different. read more

I was on a girl's trip and we spent most of our time in Austin and were travelling to Houston for our last day and half of our trip. We decided to see what was on our way there and we found Blue Mule Winery! This was such an awesome spot and definitely something I would recommend to anyone staying in the area or who might be travelling like we were. We were greeted by Nancy, who was amazing. She was very personable, offered great suggestions, and was a fantastic host. The wines we tasted were fantastic, and Nancy even offered us a couple extra tastings based on our personal preferences! It was a great way to experience all that they had to offer and she really sold us on a couple of the wines. Had we not been travelling with carry-on luggage back to Orlando, we would have absolutely bought a couple of bottles. Not only does this winery have great wine and staff, but they also have alpacas and donkeys! You are free to go outside and and take a look around at the farm they have. You can go right up to the animals and take photos, as well as pet them. This was definitely a different experience than other wineries I have been to and I would absolutely return if I was in the area again. read more

I drive by this winery almost every day on the way home from work and kept wanting to stop so one day I finally did. It's very rustic and groovy with tons of chickens running around in the parking lot area. The wine is delicious. I am not a huge sweet wine drinker but wow I fell in love with paint the town red. As in, I have to have a bottle in the house at all times! The staff was super friendly and their slushy's were amazing. I tasted a flight and bought some bottles to take home and a slushy to go to enjoy later. There was some really cool jewelry there and I got to meet the artist while visiting the winery. It is a great place for a girls getaway or Romaintic Date stop . They have an amazing selection of wines and it is close to awesome antique shopping near Roundtop. and La Grange. read more

My girlfriends best friend came to visit us from out of state and we are staying at an air bnb about 15 minutes away, we decided to have a wine day and we found this place off google and yelp, so we thought, why not!!? This place is so peaceful and relaxing. The moment we walked in the wine barn, we got greeted by what seems like the owner and he was really friendly and educated us on the wines, we brought our dogs so he warned us not to bring them by the donkeys because they get scared of dogs, they also have alpacas by the donkeys. They have chickens running around the whole barn, so if you bring your four legged friend, make sure you have them on a leash. The chickens like to jump in open cars as well, so before you leave, double check your cars lol. I definitely recommend this place for wine lovers, we are coming back when we're in town again! read more

This is a strong contender for my favorite winery within daytrip range of Austin. They have a large selection of wines and offer a tasting of 5 for $10 which if you have tasted in the Fredericksburg area you know its a deal. Of course its only truly a deal if the wine is good and all 5 of the wines in my tasting (and the sip I had of the glass my mom ordered) were really good. Better yet, they throw in the tasting if you buy at least two bottles of wine and you'll likely want to buy two or more. I also appreciated their tasting method which gave us time to taste the wines at our leisure and enjoy the wonderful property itself. Unlike many wineries that make you stand or sit at the bar or come up to the bar each time you are ready for your next taste, they served all five at once in an easy to carry means that allowed you to take your tasting to a table in their tasting room or outside with the chickens and in view of the mules and alpacas. And oh yeah, how can you not love a place with chickens running around and mules and alpacas! The property itself is large, welcoming, and well maintained. It would be a lovely place to hang out for hours enjoying the wine, the scenery, and some company or a good book. The only downside (and perhaps I just missed seeing it) was that they didn't seem to have any food on hand although I suspect with all the outdoor seating they wouldn't mind if you brought along a picnic. read more

Recently stopped into this new winery while spending the weekend in Round Top. $10 for 6 tastings. They charge you for the tasting even if you buy bottles of wine. We had our tasting with the father owner. The winery is owned by a father and daughter. The father was very willing to answer all of my questions. Their wine labels and names are for family members. The father is also the wine maker. We had our two tastings and then got two of their frozen sangria. It is extremely sweet. On a 90 degree day they were nice to have. We were able to sit outside with our sangria and our dog. The grandmother is also on the property and running around in her golf cart. The farm also has Alpacas and chickens. They have recently had a baby Alpaca and they are all very cute. They have the Alpacas for the mother and daughter other business around yarn. Overall a nice way to spend a hour or two. Do note you will do it outside post your tasting. Most of the tables and chairs are outside. We liked 5 out of the 6 wines. We ended up buying three to take home with us. They run from $25 to $32 a bottle depending on what you like. There is no wine club at this time. If we are back in the area we would stop by again. Good to see something else to do in the area. read more

What an unexpectedly lovely wine and cheese experience out here in the Round Top/LaGrange area. It's quaint in every way. The proprietors are delightful and the wines are really good! My favorite wine was the Cigar Box Jack. The white sweetened with peach is delicious too. The cheese tray with summer sausage was abundant. This is truly a lovely, unique venue.
