While Dr. Fontaine did suggest additional tests that might be helpful, I was told those orders would only be sent to the appropriate medical facilities if I signed up to become an ongoing patient, which meant paying additional significant fees. Overall, the experience felt more like a sales process than a medical consultation, which was surprising given the already high cost of the initial visit. I did not leave feeling like my well-being as a patient was the priority. Instead, it felt as though the focus was more on generating additional revenue.

After the first few seconds, I was told the settings were the same as the previous session. When I spoke up again to say it really hurt and asked why, the nurse told me it was likely because I had 'more hair this time.' The procedure was not adjusted in response to my reports of pain. The physical result the next day included visible burns, blistering/bubbling below my lip, and burn dots above my side jaw. When I called to report these injuries, the nurse (who I have since been told no longer works there), in my opinion, responded with little concern or empathy, which I expected in a clinical setting. I cancelled my weekend plans, which I informed the nurse of. I spent significant time and money on corrective treatments (serums and HydraFacials at another medical spa) to repair the damage to my skin. I initially chose this clinic based on reviews and pricing, but based on my overall experience, I cannot recommend them. In my opinion, the lack of responsiveness to a patient's reported pain level is a potential safety issue. I will be returning to a different clinic where I have previously received safe and attentive care. Just as info: I asked for a refund of the session where I had the burns (last attended session) and did not ask for a refund of the first session. The request for refund of the last session where I got the burns was denied.

Therefore I will add that this is one of the better study places to go. They treat you humanely here and are very professional. There are good, qualified and competent doctors on staff. The study coordinator's seem to be intelligent and don't jack you around about cutting you a check. I have been at some absolutely awful offices where they keep you waiting or make you come back to pick up your medication because THEY didn't have it ready. Encompass Research FEELS like a regular medical office so you don't have the "stigma" mentality like you would at some of the more assembly line medical study places. Also-the best part is if they say you have to fast for a blood test, right after wards-Encompass is right there offering you water, coffee, or a healthy snack! That's right on-since I don't do too good off coffee for long in the morning! There is usually a variety of studies available to try and qualify for. You don't even have to be in "perfect health," sometimes a little bit off somewhere is acceptable. I like to feel-when I am not officially employed-that I am managing to do something "intrinsic" with my time and talents, so being a medical study guinea pig is right up my alley. I tried another doctor, but it wasn't even close. After putting off a physical for about two years now, I was stoked when my wife found his new practice. As a former elite athlete of 25 years, I've accumulated the usual wear and tear over the years. What set Dr. Will apart from day one was his thoughtful, conservative approach. Years ago, I came to him with hip pain that bugged for years and got to the point it would occasionally cause pain/numbness down my entire leg, I was pretty miserable. Instead of jumping to surgery, he recommended stretching, strengthening, and physical therapy. About a month later, the pain was gone and hasn't come back. Fast forward to today, I came in for a physical with hopes of solving a knee injury that's been keeping me from being very active. Within five minutes, he pinpointed the issue and gave me a clear path forward. Beyond just treatment though, Dr. Will took time to understand my overall lifestyle and checked in on me personally. It's rare to find a doctor who genuinely cares on that level. He's not just a fantastic physician, he's a great person. I can't recommend him or his new practice highly enough. I won't be going anywhere else for care for the foreseeable future, and while I haven't tried the facials or additional treatments his location offers, I definitely plan to at some point.

He would also use that insulting tone to say, "OK" in a baby voice. When I told him I had been running up and down stairs for two months, and said that it was a LONG time to be doing it without results, he said "2 months is NOT a long time, you expect results too soon." We argued back & forth like little kids.....yes it is.....no it isn't....YES, IT IS!!!!! When I I told him I was not losing any weight, he said "Are you pregnant?" & I answered, "Do you wanna get slugged???". Didn't Mother ever teach him any manners? When I brought up the hard rock in my gut that was causing weight gain, he suggested that it was a fibroid. I asked what can I do about it? He said that you just leave it in there. WTF????? I said "But what about the weight?". He said in a forceful voice "YOU'VE GAIN WEIGHT EVERYWHERE! It's not a tumor in your stomach, your body is changing!" I was all of 23....& my body was CHANGING????? He said once again in not just a baby voice but in a FEMININE voice "Let's take a picture..." -meaning an x-ray. He thought I such a small child that I didn't know what an x-ray was so he called it a "picture" If you are w woman with body image issues, I HIGHLY suggest NOT SEEING DR. SMITH!!!!!! If your body "changes", his healing ability with magically disappear. He has ridiculously high standards in women & treats women who look less than his expectations like GARBAGE!!!!! If karma is a boomerang, hopefully he will be a fat, constipated water balloon some day!
