Dr. Yu is a board member at this facility and we set my parents up to have medication managed by them as well. We thought this would be a great partnership. However, little did we know that Dr. Yu and his office are very slow to respond and my parents on 4 separate occasions ran out of meds. They called Dr. Yu's office multiple times and left messages trying to get prescriptions filled. It took an average of 3 days to complete. Just today Dr Yu called me back because I wanted to know why his office ordered home health for my mom to have physical therapy on her knee. She already had a service in place. I asked why this was changed and he said he did not know and that it could have been his Nurse Practitioner. I asked to verify just to understand how or why this was changed. He said there was no way to find out, they don't have a system that tracks this. He followed this up with "that is just the way it is" and "I don't have to look over the NPs shoulder for everything they do." I informed him that I was not happy with the service he was providing and his answer was "your parents can find another provider because I have the right to serve anyone I want."

They are qualified in many areas of medicine. The NB office is part of the larger Health Texas network in SA. Same day appointments are available for emergencies, a big deal maker for us. They have a call center that runs a back office for the staff and doctors for prescription refills, follow ups, and appointments, done with just a phone call! When nessesary accelerated specialist referrals are given also. And they know your insurance, and will work with them... so you can concentrate on your care. No worrying about follow ups, prescriptions, or the dreaded out-of-network billing nightmares. Its a very simple seamless managed Health care experience at its best, right here in NB! 5 stars! I fell a couple of months ago and fractured some ribs I've been falling at that point Dr Stanhope was out I had to see Dr h o and he had ordered a brain scan and instead of going to the insurance company to make sure it got done he said he's not worried about it when I continue to have dizziness and headaches. It was very obvious to me that this doctor did not care. My wife and I have been patients of Dr Stanhope for over 10 years and have never been treated anywhere near what I dealt with today. This was the worst representation for pack medical that I have ever seen and we were many many years back some of the first patients of Dr pack when he came to town with his first wife kristen. I strongly suggest that if their Dr Stanhope was your provider and they tried to make you see this new guy did you find somebody else because this guy could really give a care less about your health. I had a doctor at the ER that with all the tests done and the same info I shared, he did not give me the right antibiotic. I had a serious infection and high fever for a week and he doubled the antibiotics I had before I went to the ER... yes, and was charged 1k after insurance. Dr. Ortiz Saved another trip to the emergency room or something worse. I would take a good doctor even if it meant having to deal with some issues with the staff, it might just be uncomfortable to be in that position if you are in need of efficient staff. He didn't throw a bunch of unnecessary medications at me, giving me just the one prescription he felt I needed. This was a welcome change from doctors I've been to years ago who'd prescribe all sorts of stuff that I didn't need. Anyhow, good staff and a good doctor, well worth the drive from NE San Antonio.
