Tried canceling this membership and they are giving me such a a hassle with this. The staff was good just not what I was expecting as far as vet care. It's like going to a pre vet checkup place but you still need to go to a real vet. What's the point of this. Not happy at all with any of this and then being told by the customer service, (which by the way does not respond unless they received an almost rude email) that if I choose to continue with wanting to cancel that I will now be charged the remaining 191 of this membership. Our long-term vet retired and we have taken our dog here twice. The best part is that both young vets were kind and caring. However, this clinic has no consistent vets but a rotating. On our second visit, we received antibiotics for a tooth infection and were provided a quote of $3,500 to $4,500 for him to have a dental cleaning and some teeth pulled. Given our shock, the staff seemed openly apologetic about the price and said they understood if we needed to shop the service. We found a clinic that will do the same procedure for under $500 but we must wait 3 weeks. I called Thrive to see if we could get a refill on the antibiotics given the wait period and our dog's discomfort. Talked to Front desk staff who said they would check and let me know. I received no call back. Clearly we'll be finding a new veterinary clinic. read more

Took my cat here after I noticed there was something wrong with her. I had to do a drop off because of covid but they called as soon as they were done running tests and filled me in on everything that was wrong; it turns out she lost sight in one of her eyes and they explained what they found -- there seems to be a mass blocking her sight. They also flushed her ears and cut her nails. They were super informative and willing to answer all my questions. The only complaint is I went for the check up and ended up being charged more things without being told first. The downside to drop off's. They however weren't able to do further testing for her eye and suggested I go to her usual vet. read more

I've taken my dog Rambo here quite a few times as he is a puppy and had to go through all the shot series etc. Dr. Kelly is so sweet to Rambo each time we come in he just loves her and the stuff. The facility is always immaculate, you are seen usually right by the time your appt starts give or take a few minutes, but they never keep you waiting too long at all. This is in indeed just another Uber, Casper, Warby Parker, Apple store insta Vet place. iPads and profits. I do not recommend this place at all. There are far better Vets in this area to use for all kinds of appointments including ACUTE WALK-INS. I REMAINED FOR THREE STRAIGHT HOURS. I finally stood in the hallway waiting to even see an employee. Rebecca (who has no concern for personal space as she stood inches from my body position) the "Pet Concierge" was indeed of zero politeness. This place has no professional experience.... my dog went in for a nail trim. The vet called, but I was already inside! She said : Nobody comes in there's a pandemic ma'am.... really??? I love Thrive. When they say affordable, they mean it. Not only does my dog get treated like the spoiled pup he is when we go but it doesn't break my bank. The staff has been nothing but professional and loving with my pup every time he's in. I keep saying pup because he'll always be my puppy but I should mention that he is an aggressive 87lb Pit/Lab mix and the staff at Thrive handle him perfectly. Even when he barks and lunges at other dogs, they transition the pets with caution and care rather than reprimanding my dog and muzzling him. I appreciate that. I stand by my original review. We have been coming over a year now. The staff is always friendly and very nice. They always remember my dog. We have also now had a neuter and chip placement done here and that was done very well. I get reminders about my vaccines and when an office visit is due. The facility is always nice and clean and you never have a very long wait. After visiting several vets over all the years with different dogs I know the difference between this one and others. I will definitely continue to come here with my dog and I trust them with his care. read more

So I like this Thrive location. The vet we see is great and all the bet techs are sweet/helpful. My main issue doesn't have to do with this location directly but the call center oh my goodness. There's almost no appointment availability for weeks every single time. They are very hard to understand and there's been many times I wish I could speak directly to the staff at the Thtive location. The whole system is strange and frustrating. God forbid you need to get in and your dog is sick, they just tell me there is no appointments. So I have to wait a week or more? Beware service is unprofessional to the level of rude. They will change your scheduled appointment and will not call or email that they have changed the appointment. If you miss the "new" appointment the blame is on you. I had a late afternoon appointment. When I arrive the location's doors were locked. The sign states open until 6PM and it was just after 5PM. The person I interacted with was quite aggressive that the error was mine and that their sending a text to a land line was sufficient to notify me that they had changed the appointment. (If this is their standard business practice they need to understand how texting works and the reliability of text delivery.) I suspect that they just don't care - it is your fault for doing business with them. The impression I got was they wanted to close early and were annoyed that they had customers scheduled. Make me wonder how animals are treated when the owner is not present. read more

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE FOR ANY REASON IF YOUR PET IS SICK These are the worst people out there. They don't tell you things about your animal but then later when questioned a Rebecca/supervisor after being told that instead of helping a severely abused dog-who is very afraid and the owner is at her wits end-that the dog should be killed instead. She agreed with that statement. I asked for help with medication For this Yorkie. They tell me I should kill my dog! That the dog should never have been allowed to be adopted out after hearing the back story on this Yorkie! They refused to give any assistance of medication. And the Vet told me that the dog had it out for me That I was in danger. This dog was abused and frightened. Something like brushing the dog set her to bite. But for two months she didn't try to kill me, or damage anything else or even bite. I wasn't sure at what other odd things came up. I ended up using over the counter calming products and the dog is just fine now. They would have had me put a dog to death for being afraid. I contacted the Ok Animal Control who found the dog after owner died. They felt the dog was fine to be adopted out. I'm sure if they had brushed her hair maybe they wouldn't have thought the dog should be saved and just killed it instead. Wrong. I have never heard of anyone who works with animals who would tell the owner something like this, especially after trying NOTHING first. if not everything had been tried. This Vet didn't even recommend a behavior vet. Just she refused to treat the dog for any reason. If I had not told her the back story, but I feel a Vet is there to HELP the pet and owner. I'm sorry if that is incorrect. If a Vet isn't there for help, why go? The rescue where I got her told me the best place for help was my vet too On another note: you should know that customers with sick dogs can't be seen for a week. That they don't work customers with sick pets in. Every affordable pet location for a 50 mile radius couldn't get an appointment to see my dog with a heart problem. Yet, I pay these people every month so I can bring my dog in. The membership is a rip off. You have no choice but to take your dog to an emergency location and pay triple what you would pay here PLUS you pay each month extra to NOT be seen at affordable. Seriously, the vets aren't good. Rebecca/Hurst location is offended by the word "trash". So if you still feel that you want to throw away money go here don't say that word about your care. You can't even complain to corporate company about how bad things are because the call center claims they don't have any phone numbers. Only scam artists run a business this way. So be careful. But take your pet to a real vet and not a bunch of people who don't care about your dog at all! read more

If I could rate 0 stars I would. Took two of my cats to the Hurst location concerned that they both had had diarrhea for a week and they were "unable" to obtain fecal samples from either cat and sent me home with a tube to collect it myself. I collected it but before I went to deliver it to the vet, my cat also started throwing up. I called them and asked if there was anything they could give me to help with symptoms or if they could see her to get it checked out and they told me they couldn't see her for a week and they recommended taking her to the emergency vet. Instead I took them to my other vet for my other cats and discovered they had Giardia. I immediately cancelled my membership and they charged me $100 with no explanation. I looked into the terms and conditions and this was not right so I emailed (apparently the only way to contact them) to get a refund for the correct amount. They did respond within 24 hours to the email however they could not help with the services that the clinic did not deliver and refunding that. So I had to call their call center because you can't reach the clinic directly, and they said a technician would reach out shortly. Then Thaddeus from the Hurst TX location called me and told me that he was sorry that my cat "did not have stool to sample in the anus" and that there was nothing they could do because I did not deliver the stool sample they sent me home with. I asked for a refund for ONLY the stool sample collection fee (because they didn't even do it...) and he said "Sure I'll let my supervisor know you're upset that your cat had no stool in his anus for us to sample and that you want a refund" and hung up on me. Very rude and unprofessional. Extremely disappointed in the lack of service, lack of communication, and lack of care for my animals. read more

Not only was it MUCH more affordable but everyone was so kind. The facilities were also super clean. My appointment was for 12 but I showed up 20 min early because I wasn't sure if there would be paperwork and I was seen right away! Dr. Warner was awesome as was my tech! My review is in regards to two different appointments. FIRST APPOINTMENT: My first appointment for my dog was on May 14, 2020 with Dr. Joyner. I unfortunately do not remember the names of the vet techs. On-site at the appointment, everyone was absolutely lovely. I was there for over an hour in regards to a mass on my dog's neck. Everyone was communicating promptly & taking great care of my dog. Dr. Joyner ran tests to see what the cause of the mass was & confirmed it was her salivary gland, and the only way to remove the mass would be surgery. He let me know that not many vets would be comfortable performing the surgery, however he could if a THRIVE location has all the equipment to be able to house the surgery. Dr. Joyner answered all my questions and made sure that I understood everything in regards to my dog before handing me to the vet techs. The vet techs let me know that they would email me (my email was confirmed) in 1-2 business days to let me know if other THRIVE locations could house the surgery and a quote, or if I needed to look elsewhere. AFTER FIRST APPOINTMENT: I was never notified after the appointment. I called a week later on May 21, 2020 for an update in regards to the information that needed to be sent to me. I confirmed my email address again, and the woman I spoke to said it would take about 1-2 business days for me to get an email. I asked her if I didn't receive an email, should I just call the other THRIVE locations myself and ask. She said that wasn't necessary & they would notify me in 1-2 business days. I never received an email. SECOND APPOINTMENT: My dog saw Dr. Collins & her vet tech, Anna, on June 16, 2020 in regards to a different issue not regarding her salivary gland. Anna was very sweet & took great care of my dog. I definitely knew she was in good hands & I commend her for how she communicated with me while I was waiting for my dog to be seen. Dr. Collins was prompt & was able to prescribe medication that she needed for the issue that we came in for this appointment. Dr. Collins also asked me how my dog was doing with her health in general. She may have either seen on her file or Anna notified her about her salivary gland. I let her know that I wasn't communicated with at all about information regarding her future surgery & I didn't know who to go to get that information. Dr. Collins then says, "Well we don't know if it's actually her salivary gland," and proceeds to explain that testing needs to be done & that they are not sure if surgery is really the next step. I explained to her that Dr. Joyner had confirmed that it was her salivary gland. We went a little back in forth for a moment & I explained to her that Dr. Joyner did run tests & had notified me during the appointment that the tests confirmed it was her salivary gland. After I said this, I could hear someone in the background of our phone call say to Dr. Collins that Dr. Joyner did run tests & confirm what I had just said to her. I said it was very concerning to hear different findings from two different vets. I'm not sure if this was a moment of miscommunication, her file wasn't appropriately filled out, Dr. Collins didn't read her file, or if she wasn't properly notified. She apologized in regards to my concern, which I appreciated. She let me know that the vet techs would print out a sheet of specialists that could perform her surgery and they would highlight the ones they recommend. I got the sheet & the medication at the end of the appointment. What is very frustrating is that the printout & highlighting of the list took no more than 5 minutes to complete. And if I didn't go to THRIVE for a this issue, then I wouldn't have gotten anything at all for information on my dog's potential surgery. Something that took 5 minutes to complete that I waited a little more than a month for. I don't even think they communicated with other THRIVE locations. I hope that moving forward THRIVE will communicate more effectively with their clients after appointments. Especially in regards to surgery. read more

I would not recommend this vet to my worst enemy, most unprofessional front office staff and doctors. I started taking my dogs to thrive vet in Denver and they were great but upon moving to Texas I have had nothing but bad experiences with them from the first visit when they mixed both my dogs files on their system. Can't get flea and tick medicine because they chose not to do a fecal test when I took him in for his yearly check up in February, COVID is no excuse for that and it seems like all they wanted was to be able to charge me more money to get what I would need in the coming months. Walk-ins at this office do not exist despite them saying they do, appointments are days out despite the fact the place looks like a ghost town most days. I loved finding a vet that didn't charge an outrageous amount of money for visits but I would recommend just going to a REAL vet and not a bargain brand. Been there before with my dogs but the last experience with my cat was frustrating. Had to speak with 3 people to check in car. I had an early appointment and appeared to be the only visitor- They were unable to perform a complete exam or administer shots for some reason I still don't understand - they ran out of time - so they wanted me to return for another exam and buy some meds for the next visit. When I asked why I needed to pay for 2 exams the condescending administrative clerk said I should go to a more affordable subsidized facility. She completely missed my point repetitively charged for partial services. They may call this their process or policy. I call it poor business. I took my 15 yr old sweet dog for just a good ole exam due to her age. I didn't want to be sold anything or told that she needed a bunch of tests unless it was absolutely necessary I just wanted an assessment of how they thought she was due to her age I was very impressed they didn't pressure me into anything they suggested some things that would help her because of her age it was a very good experience. Exceptional! After moving to the HEB area over 18 months ago, it was time to find a new vet as my former vet of over 30 years is now a 3-hour round trip. It is hard to imagine finding someone who cares as much when you have been with the same people for over 30 years; however, Thrive Affordable Vet Care did not disappoint! I made an appointment to go to this clinic because my usual thrive in Grand Prairie was booked. My dog had a spot on his paw that was swollen and red and looked infected. His ears seemed to be bothering him as well. The staff was kind and helped me put my dog at ease because he's very anxious. At the end of the appointment I ended up spending over $300 for ear cleaner and ear drops, antibiotics for the spot on his paw, an e collar to keep him from licking (that didn't work because he could still reach his foot), as well as the exam and tests they had run. They told me I would need to call back to schedule a follow up appointment, but when I tried to call back they were booked too far out for me to feel comfortable waiting. They had also told me that he had some hair in his ears that needed to be pulled out before I would be able to get the drops down in there. I asked if they could do it as well and they said they didn't have the tools to do it. So I called petco who ended up doing it for me in about five minutes and said a vet should have been fully capable of doing that. So while I was visiting my parents two hours away I had the vet in town look him over and he said his ears were coming along fine, but he picked up his paw to look at the spot and it took him 30 seconds from start to finish to realize there was a grass seed stuck inside the spot and pop it out. It was such a simple solution that I can't imagine it was anything but laziness that caused the vet to miss it the first time. I'm so disappointed in the care I received. I'd rather drive two hours to my hometown to see the vet here than go back to this location ever again. read more
