Once I found someone to seat me I waited another 15mins for my food to come (Turkey legs and fries) the fries were dehydrated and hard, the turkey leg was tough and disgusting. I mean you had to gnaw on it that's how dry and tough it was. The plastic knife and fork they give you wouldn't even cut or pierce through it. I asked the lady next to me if it got any more tender after she got past the outer part and she said no it's a waste of time and money. She was right. I do not recommend going here. Inside its air conditioned and table seating nice to come her and take a break and get out of the heat and have lunch. Its more like self serve ordering you can see the food and deserts behind the glass which you pick what you want then check out. They serve canned beer, beer on draft and glasses of wine here. Free cups of ice water are located behind the cashiers stand. The chicken is a quarter piece. Plenty of refuel food for more park adventures. A downer here is lack of desserts I want to eat, but hey, I always end up at Cinnabon anyways, so it's honestly probably a good thing the desserts are lacking here. Compared to standing in the heat for 45 minutes for concession stand food that you are eating at a metal picnic table that is supposed to hold four people but can't accommodate two, this place is a dream come true. This place is air conditioned, has a clean restroom, costs about the same as the concession stand and you can enjoy your meal for as long as you want. Normally we would have gone out to eat lunch at CityWalk and switched to the other park but both parks were at capacity, so we couldn't have got back in. I strongly recommend the rotisserie chicken salad with citrus vinaigrette. The challenge here is using the mobile food app and being patient with the mistakes the kitchen makes (they don't follow directions well). I don't expect much from amusement park restaurants. My experience has been that they're mediocre and overpriced. Thunder Falls Terrace at Universal's Islands of Adventure easily surpassed my meager expectations. I had some kind of salad with chicken. (Give me a break here. It's been five weeks now since my visit.) It had a bunch of healthy ingredients, which was what I was looking for. It was nice and fresh and a big ol' Heap of food. And the pricing didn't even scream rip off like it does at a lot of parks. It was a good meal, comprable to a nice sit down casual restaurant that doesn't have a captive audience looking to ride rides all day. My mom had the ribs and my dad had one of those friggin huge turkey legs. We all enjoyed our meals and agreed the portions were good. My mom likes to complain at restaurants, usually about portions/pricing and I didn't hear one bad thing out of her on those counts. One of my parents gave me their corn on the cob and that hit the spot, too. TFT easily bested our dining experience at Busch Gardens Tampa a couple of years ago. The restaurant itself is very pleasant, all light and airy with lots of natural light. There's a big glass wall at the far end where diners can watch the big splashdown from the Jurassic Park boat ride. It's where the most people had gathered and where we went, too. The one thing here that was not so pleasant was the wait. We had to stand for maybe 15 minutes, making our way through a couple of amusement park ride style switchbacks before we even got up the counter. This likely had everything to do with not one but two restaurants being closed in the adjacent Toon Lagoon area. Not directly the fault of this restaurant, but some kind of staffing/organizational issues no doubt. Once we got up to the counter the workers were friendly and energetic. They ran out of a couple items but these were resupplied from the back almost instantly. One of the ladies had a really nice, melodic Jamaican patois. Total nightmare. It's Friday, 6/11 (3:10pm). We just waited 40 minutes on a line outside the building to be seated. This is for an online app order. We scanned our mobile code and we've been sitting at out table for 3 for over 20 minutes. I asked one of the servers why it is taking so long for 2 checken bowls, 1 rib plate, fries, and 3 Cokes. He told me that the wait could be up to an hour...for fast casual food. Earlier, I stood on line for 30 minutes at the Watering Hole, by the Jurassic Park entrance. I ordered a Foster's and a seft-serve soft drink (they put an RFID sticker on the bottom of your cup, to be sure you only fill the cup once). Well, after waiting another 10 minutes, one of the two Coke Freestyle machines is empty and the othet has no ice. Universal Studios clearly has no idea what they are doing. Drinks and food should be fast. Hell, there should be vending machines all over the place, to avoid these unnecessary lines. It's madness. Not only are they losing out on business from people leaving the park early, they are also risking their reputation for people leaving negative reviews. Unacceptable. read more

Alright, so not the WORST place to get food in a theme park, definitely not the best. We got a rib and chicken platter which comes with corn and black beans. The chicken was very dry. I enjoyed the ribs--lots of bbq sauce and came off the bone easily. The corn was very plain, nothing notable. The black beans were good, although a bit too salty. Thunder Falls Terrace, a counter service restaurant located inside Jurassic Park at Universal's Islands of Adventure, offers guests a "meat-centric" menu of rotisserie chicken, ribs, burgers, and turkey legs. This has always been my favorite counter service restaurant at Universal Orlando. Although it is theme park food, I've always thought there selections were very flavorful and a notch above your average counter service fare. Literally every time I go to Thunder Falls Terrace I have problems with something. The last two times I went, I had to verbally tell them that I never got my food after waiting thirty minutes or so for the meal. The first time it happened, I only ordered a pork bowl. The second time it happened, yesterday, I ordered the wing platter with swirl shake. Neither order was difficult and yet they still didn't have the competence to bring my food out without me saying something. Both times I was given excuses about the order never "printing out" on their end (once was through mobile order and another was at their register). When I told them that's no excuse and doesn't make their negligence right, they just ignored me. No apology, no offering me anything else...nothing but a bunch of excuses. To add insult to injury, they made me carry my own food to the table and didn't bring it out to me like they did for everyone else. I can't believe they call this quick service! It took me longer to eat here than Mythos! Mythos is a sit-down place! It is also pretty expensive for a "quick" place too. 3 barely medium sized wings costed nearly $20 even with a Passholder discount. Speaking of discounts, I didn't get the extra 10% off for Passholder days because the mobile app wasn't working. Bottom line, this place is the absolute worst dining choice on property. It used to be a solid place to eat but not anymore. There are much better choices around IOA so my honest suggestion is to pass on this place and go literally anywhere else instead. read more

This is a quick service restaurant in the Islands of Adventure Park. We arrived when the place opened at 11am. We were the 6th group in. We had purchased the meal plan ahead of time and couldn't order from the app. The hostess sat us...she was clearly having a bad morning and was visibly and verbally surly. She wasn't outright rude to us but was seemingly irritated that we had the plan. Once seated we tried for about 20 mins to get someone to take our order. Finally the same hostess/server noticed us and took our order. We didn't order anything outlandish - just the chicken. We went back to the table and waited. And waited. And waited. Other people started to get their food. Figured it was the first dishes of the day so whatever. So we waited more. and more. and more. People that came in after us started getting their food. So we waited more and more and more - up to an HOUR after we ordered. No one noticed us, and we were ignored while we tried to flag people down. Finally an hour and five minutes after we ordered someone noticed us. They took our receipt and our meal cards . We waited some more and the person came back with a refund....but no food. She picked up the menu and walked off essentially kicking us out. We wasted all that time for nothing! Now, this place ain't hurting for business and it won't matter to Universal if we don't return ever again. That being said, please take it from me: this place does not have their stuff together. We left with a main course of empty stomachs and a side of feeling unimportant . I suggest you avoid at all costs unless you want to waste over an hour of your day waiting for food while you could be waiting to ride a ride. Fortunately, guest services was a much better experience. I went there to share my story and we were comped some express passes for the trouble. Went here to get some chicken fingers and fries and they were delicious. They did not have too much batter and were crispy and delicious. For drinks if you do not have refillable cups note you only get one fill per a cup as there are cups under the cups. One of our cups actually got around the refills and it refilled once but the other did not. read more

This is my first review for a theme park restaurant. This place is located in the islands of adventure side of universal studios. By the Jurassic park area hence the thunder falls theme. Walked by this place countless times when I was here but never tried it. It always seemed so empty to me. Walked in and it is a bit dark, with a cafeteria style food serving, a sit down restaurant. Nothing fancy at all. I can't argue on the negative reviews when it comes to service. Pretty slow and unorganized. It gets pretty frustrating but I understand I would hate working there too if I did so I don't blame them lol Cleanliness can be improved. The food didn't look super fresh. The choices look delicious though like mango BBQ chicken, ribs, corn on the cob, brownie and cookie as one. There are really good combo plates and we went with the mango BBQ chicken , ribs and corn on cob and the brownie and cookie thing. Reasonable price for good portions. Now the good taste? FREAKING AMAZING. I loved the mango BBQ sauce on the chicken, the ribs were tender and not skinny at all. The dessert was extremely good too. Definitely surprised me because the food didn't look to fresh on the display but damn was it good. Hell yeah I would come back here and eat again, especially if I'm really hungry.
