It has been fixed but today... today it was hotter than SATANS STARFISH. If you are going to open the doors for everyone, at least accommodate us with better airflow. The air is hot, humid, overshared, and stale af. The airflow has been minimized and we noticed. It was too hot to get our full workout done today. The stars are for the employees. They always have a great attitude, constantly cleaning, outgoing, and considerate.

I had some very loud, aggressive woman, another patron, trying to tell me what to do on a piece of equipment. She criticized me and laughed out loud at me today. It was crazy. I mentioned it to the gal at the front and she let Armando know. He called me pretty quickly and had already looked up the tape to see who the woman might be. I would like to address what a reviewer recently said about this location because I think they left…read morean unfair review with lots of hyperbole. This gym does not cost $100 per month. As shown on their individual location page, the highest tier membership is $64.99. There are cheaper memberships depending on what membership you sign up for. It is not overly packed during the times that I go, usually around 6:30pm on weekdays and sometimes Sunday evenings. I generally count 8-10 people at most and have never had to wait for a machine or equipment. The only humidity you experience is in one of the bathrooms if someone previously took a shower. However, they leave the door open to promote airflow. As far as I am aware, there is airflow and I have not once felt uncomfortable there. Judging from a majority of reviews, many people like and in fact, love this gym. It will not anger you, unless you are quick to get angry over things. It sounds to me that the real cause of this low review was being charged an amount that they did not agree with, and possibly missing important details when signing up. This could have been resolved with a phone call, instead of a poor review. I would urge you, dear reader, to approach negative reviews like this with caution. Understand that the employees here care, it is not a crowded gym or humid in any manner, and Trent is there to help you out when needed. There is no pressure to join if you sign up for a free trial either.

On their site they offer regular HIIT type classes availablein the morning and evening, a daily morning 50+ class, their famous bootie class, step, and kickboxing. Their gym is an open space with a couple treadmills, bike, elliptical, and rower. They have hand weights, free weights, and machines. They have lockers and an accessible bathroom. They are in a commercial park with ample private parking. It's all available to women only. I went in to check out the space. The coach at the front desk was super friendly and answered all of my questions. I was able to tour alone. I left, needing time to consider the $299/mo commitment, $75 annual fee, and $100 cancellation fee. I decided to go for it. I had trouble getting signed up on the app, but was able to get set up on the website. The fee was prorated. When I attempted to book my first class, I couldn't find it available. I thought it must not be available that day. It turns out the site is outdated and they don't have a morning class anymore. I kind of kicked myself in hindsight. But, really, should I have needed to think to ask if their site is current? I dropped in for my first (evening, boo) class and I had to complete a few forms. The class was great. I got my xxx handed to me and that's exactly what I wanted. The class was small, maybe 8 of us, and the coach was great at correcting posture and encouraging us to get at it. I was looking forward to day 2. Only to find that the class was canceled but no notice was given. At the front desk the response was 'you should have received an email'. I admit, I was questioning my decision because someone had reviewed about classes being canceled. I did not heed her warning. I also learned that while they say it's okay to drop in, they prefer booking because then the coach knows to show. I was told if at least one member books, a coach will show. If no one's booked, they may not show. I'm really not good a committing in advance because I never know how my day will play out. There is a no-show fee and I didn't want to get stuck. Day 3 I (still) dropped in and got in class. Day 4, I was dismayed to find that even after booking this time, the coach didn't show. Front desk directed me to get warmed up on a treadmill. I hopped on and gave it 10 minutes. I said good-bye at the front desk and she was still trying to get a hold of the coach who she said just lives around the corner. I returned the next day and canceled. Funny, the front desk wasn't so friendly that time, and reminded me of what I was being charged and snidely added that I agreed to the fee when I signed up. A TON of money wasted. It's probably the worst decision I've made all year. They do a great job promoting themselves on IG. I do appreciate their collaboration with other small businesses to promote their products and services. This is only the second time I've given a 1-star review. I always try to offer something constructive. In this case, I'm at a a loss.

I've visited both the Whipple and Fremont locations, and both are great. The only thing I wish is that the Fremont location would have a kids club and I'd make this my overall home gym.

Buyer Beware: Fraudulent Charges & Nightmare Cancellation Process…read moreBefore you sign up for a membership at City Sports, you need to know their cancellation policy is intentionally designed to trap you. You cannot cancel online, and you cannot cancel over the phone. They force you to physically come into the office to do it. I specifically went into the Fremont location in April to cancel my membership. I went through their whole process, gave them my reason for cancelling, and was explicitly told that I would no longer be charged. In reality, they completely ignored my request and continued charging me for two more months. I only realized it after checking my bank statements. When I called the Fremont location to get it sorted out, the staff didn't offer a single apology. Instead, they acted like it was my fault and pretended I had never canceled, completely gaslighting me even though I physically walked into their building to do exactly what they require. Check your bank statements closely if you deal with this place. Their customer service is dishonest and completely unaccountable.

A simple solution would be to designate specific hours for teen participants or limit the number of free-pass users during peak times. That would allow teens to benefit from the program while ensuring regular members can enjoy the gym they pay for without overcrowding or excessive delays. The goal should be to promote fitness for everyone while maintaining a respectful and efficient workout environment.
