I would like to address what a reviewer recently said about this location because I think they left an unfair review with lots of hyperbole. This gym does not cost $100 per month. As shown on their individual location page, the highest tier membership is $64.99. There are cheaper memberships depending on what membership you sign up for. It is not overly packed during the times that I go, usually around 6:30pm on weekdays and sometimes Sunday evenings. I generally count 8-10 people at most and have never had to wait for a machine or equipment. The only humidity you experience is in one of the bathrooms if someone previously took a shower. However, they leave the door open to promote airflow. As far as I am aware, there is airflow and I have not once felt uncomfortable there. Judging from a majority of reviews, many people like and in fact, love this gym. It will not anger you, unless you are quick to get angry over things. It sounds to me that the real cause of this low review was being charged an amount that they did not agree with, and possibly missing important details when signing up. This could have been resolved with a phone call, instead of a poor review. I would urge you, dear reader, to approach negative reviews like this with caution. Understand that the employees here care, it is not a crowded gym or humid in any manner, and Trent is there to help you out when needed. I have seen some good improvement in the cleanliness of this gym. Some machines definitely needed an update especially treadmill and some leg machines like abduction/adduction. Free weights room is pretty good! Enough cable attachments to do many things workout!! read more

This is the worst gym in the Bay Area. It cost $100 a month for a overly packed stuffed low equipment no locker room half of the equipment they have at a regular gym and on top of that it's always humid in there. There's no airflow and it's honestly just the worst gym ever it's overpriced for the stuff that they give. I would steer clear of this gym. If I were you go to any other gym please they have charged me $150 in one month just for joining and I go and I don't even enjoy myself. It's hot in there. I can't breathe and there's always a bunch of people and it's very small. Save your money stay away from this place. It's literally horrible a waste of your time and it will piss you off. And if I can give this gym zero stars I would, but I had to give it one, but if I could, it would be zero to nothing. read more

This is my favorite gym I've ever had! It's always so clean and tidy. They also have an amazing staff here! Trent was so helpful in assisting me in creating my membership here and he is always around for any questions I might have in addition to the other friendly staff! I've been to several gyms and this one's by far my favorite. If you prefer a smaller, CLEAN & less busy gym this is the place for you! Not only are the staff kind but they are consistently cleaning the equipment and gym area which is great. The staff will also make sure to address any concerns you have which is rare nowadays. Please mind the negative reviews from July. As a minority (pacific islander), I've had NO encounters of "racism" at this gym. If anything, the trainers make me feel comfortable as they too are minorities and are respectful. There's a reason this place is rated 4+ stars overall :) If the good reviews were "paid" don't you think many businesses would do this? The 4+ stars for this establishment was EARNED. It's a good gym. I initially wanted to join this gym because the fitness 19 I go to next to it is extremely packed at the time I workout and takes me an extra 30 min to finish a workout because I'm waiting for equipment. Anytime fitness is a pretty good gym, it's clean, staff is friendly, has enough equipment to get a decent workout, however, I did not sign up because of the price. The price is double the amount I'm paying at fitness 19 for half the amount of equipment. Fitness 19 has almost 100% of the equipment they have, except anytime fitness were missing a few I would've liked: plate loaded leg press, shoulder raise machine, and stairmasters. I was even considering having both fitness 19 and anytime fitness memberships, so I can utilize both gyms depending on which equipment was unavailable. But the price just doesn't make sense for me to sign up. If you're looking for a good beginner friendly gym, that's nice and small with not a lot of people, and 24 hours this is a great gym is you don't mind the extra costs compared to other gym. But if you're a well-seasoned lifter, you might be disappointed by the price relevant to the equipment variety. Although if getting your workout done in a timely manner is what you're looking for, this is the place. I really hope there's some kind of promotional discounts in the future because I really REALLY wanted anytime fitness to work, because I'm fed up with wasting my time waiting for equipment at fitness 19 next door. read more

I went here because I was looking for a new gym. A friend told me about this gym so I went with him to work out. The equipment was good and they had most of the machines I nqeeded. I went to ask the staff about some exercises that I could to help myself with a core muscle and they were acting as if they didn't have the time to help out. I don't think I'm gonna join this gym id rather just spend my money at planet fitness and if I get attitude atleast it's expected because I will only have to pay $15 and get what I paid for. read more

I've been going to this gym for the past few months. It's smaller than other gyms, but I enjoy that the machines and facility are always clean and staff are friendly. If you're thinking of signing up for this gym and are interested in working with a personal trainer, I highly recommend working with Chris. Chris will discuss with you your fitness goals and tailor exercises to meet your needs. He makes sure I do the exercises safely and explains the purpose behind each exercise. I come to this gym on a day pass when I'm back in town - really friendly staff in the building. I love that the gym is not always packed like usual commercial gyms. I'm able to get in and out and get quality work because the gym is never really crowded. TLDR: one-floor branch of anytime fitness located in the corner of a strip mall with most of the equipment you could possibly need ===== Full disclosure: my home gym branch in Virginia just opened about half a year prior, and thus serves as my only comparison for a commercial gym. I was in town for about a week and had brought my anytime fitness fob, hoping to get a little bit of cardio on the trip. This branch was located in a strip mall right off the highway. As such, there is ample parking. Wear/tear: Some of the equipment had definitely lost some of its initial shine. The two benches at the free weights are slightly torn, with the inner foam starting to show. Equipment/Infrastructure: This branch features a significant amount of cardio equipment, with weights in the back and a small exercise studio. There is a few spaces in the back where you can leave your things, but the cubbies are not locked. Three bathrooms/showers round out the infrastructure. In terms of equipment, you'll find everything you normally find at a commercial gym. There was a single squat/bench combo rack in the back with another self standing barbell rack next to it. The place was surprisingly busy at night--there were four others in the gym when I arrived at 10:30 on a Friday night. read more

Overall, great gym. For someone that has gone through many of the big box gyms. This place certainly one of the best. 1. The place feels like the perfect "home" gym set up that you never had. Lots of great equipment and the gym is not super crowded. So you can get a lot of workout done. I can see why this gym was voted best in Newark. 2. It's not as dirty as the other big box gyms. I have seen my fair share of dirty, unhygienic restrooms and clutter everywhere. The place is maintained really well. The equipment is also well kept. 3. price is very reasonable. For the convenience, quality and the price, nothing beats this place, The only feedback I have: 1, I wish they had a dedicated deadlift platform and Olympic lifting platform and rack. 2. I tried out this gym with a trial membership. I tried a few other gyms after. I decided to go to another gym in the end. With Anytime's trial they give you a fob to get into the gym, with a $20 deposit. I brought the fob back to get back my deposit and they wouldn't give it back to me. The trial agreement says you need to bring it back in 30 days. 41 days had passed. Yeah, it was in the agreement I signed but no one reads/remembers all of that. Poor customer service. Stupid policy - what's the point? Never going back. The employee was cool about it. He was just following the stupid policy. Can't blame him for that. read more

Been a member here for the past year and it's been a pleasure to be apart of this anytime fitness location. The staff is always polite and respectful and go above and beyond to make sure all accommodations are always met. Whenever I am there the staff is always checking and making sure weights are clean and in their appropriate spaces. I join the classes with they offer and they are always a great workout and I have a blast with the other members. I'm reading some recent reviews that do not reflect my experience with this gym or staff at all and seem to be only done so with malice intent to ruin gym and staff reputation. Been an athlete and football player my whole life bouncing around from gym to gym training with multiple trainers and I guarantee you this gym has trainers who will have a positive impact on your fitness journey and performance. I started attending this gym on January 1st of 2024 and seen a huge difference on my body transformation because of how great of a workout plan the trainer (Lagi) put me through! Everyday I come in the gym you can feel nothing but positivity coming from the staff at this gym as they always greet me even when they are busy. The trainer that I've been with is Lagi as I mentioned and for the past 6 months she's been a very positive and energetic trainer and another great thing is she always holds me accountable of my workout without going beyond limits! Not to worry about the cleanliness of the environment as well because the staff that is usually there are always doing the best they can keeping the environment germ free as I see them cleaning every time I am working out, and they also have stations with wipes and disinfectant in the area. The gym also has lots of equipment and machines that you need. To mention as well they also have free weights which impacts explosive training huge, and that's a plus because some gyms don't offer free weights like a squat rack, dumbbells, weights for deadlifts...etc. I highly recommend this gym to all youth athletes with attending parents, adults in search of great trainers with positive energy and to older men and women who want to stay in great shape and to stay healthy! What, really? - There is just one restroom/shower and you have to wait to use it. I understand that it is for safety because it is a 24 hours gym but then during peak hours you have to wait 20- 30 minutes for the person inside to come out. - For the price, you get very few fringe amenities as compared to other comparable gyms. - No closed lockers; you just have open cubbies in the main area - no towel service - Yoga mats and other required tools for classes are not provided like other comparable gyms Bottom line it's a super clean, no fringes gym for a high price. I like that the gym isn't as busy as commercial ones, so it's easier to do what you need to do and get it done.
