I joined this gym 7 months ago, and since then, I've really come to appreciate the strong sense of community here. The coaches, Sam, Cat, Leslie, Jason, and David - are welcoming, encouraging, and truly care about helping you improve. A special shoutout to the owner, Tony, who is dedicated to your growth and takes the time to teach proper body mechanics. CrossFit isn't easy, but the team does a great job of breaking down each movement so it's more approachable and safe. It's not just a gym, it's a place where you feel supported every step of the way. This is one of the best gyms you will ever go to. The workouts are fun. Everyday is different and you learn to challenge yourself more. Dal and other coaches are great and give great feedback on form. If you are unable to do a workout the coaches will give you enough scaling options. Every week is programmed in a way so that you get to do a combination of strength, functional movements, gymnastics. The best part of this gym is the community. People are super cool and warm and everyone pushes each other during workouts. I will definitely miss this gym and will keep visiting whenever I can. read more

Holy moly this gym is awesome. I'm based in San Francisco but this box has become my home box every holiday while visiting the fam. The owner Dal is super friendly and was kind enough to discount the drop-in for Thanksgiving (thanks dude!) Community - Very welcoming, even for outsiders, and you can tell that everyone is treated like family. The gym definitely has a family feel and a few folks brought their kids, who were very well behaved while their parents got their sweat on. Gym - Well organized, clean, and HUGE (at least 5x the size of my box in SF). Programming - Very well thought out and the coaches do a good job of pushing the group. Roughly about one year ago, I had major neck surgery. I had a fusion (metal plate to connect two vertebrae), and a disc replacement implanted in my neck. My recovery was literally a roller coaster. I was in and out of the doctor's offices like a yo-yo. My meds were constantly changed and I was getting all these tests done to rule out various illnesses, I literally felt like a science experiment because my primary MD kept changing my meds to see what would work best for me. Till this day, I still have nerve damage on both hands, which has resulted in me loosing a lot of my sensation to hot & cold. However, my life completely flipped the minute I joined CrossFit Jigsaw. First of all, I would like to say how AWESOME Dal is!! Dal is a great coach, he is very efficient and knowledgeable. He takes the time to help you understand proper techniques and encourages you to push yourself. Community- I love the community here, it's an instant mood changer the minute you walk into the gym, you can sense the uplifting spirit. Everyone is very pleasant and positive. We all encourage one another to reach our full potential in the daily workouts. By the end of the workout, we ALL feel like winners! Gym-The gym is VERY well maintained by Dal. All the equipment is organized and well kept. He has a broad range of equipment for us to use for our workouts. Dal is constantly organizing the gym to make it more efficient. You can tell he is very passionate about his gym. He takes great pride in it. Programming-The overall program at CrossFit Jigsaw is one of the best structures I have seen. Dal utilizes a great scheduling system, which allows us to easily reserve a classes. On a daily basis he will post the following day's workout, so we can prep ourselves. Which I absolutely love! because I can mentally prepare myself. Overall, after joining CrossFit Jigsaw, I feel GREAT! I have more energy and my endurance has increased from day and night difference. I have been with this program since mid-October, and I started seeing results in November. My overall mental health from dealing with my neck surgery, to homeschooling my two girls, and the craziness of this pandemic, has never been better since I joined Dal's gym. I've been CFing for 6yrs now and this is my 3rd box (and countless drop-ins to boxes all over the world). Even though we live out of the area, we continue to make the drive and call this box home. The programming is well thought out, and pushes me even on days when I'm not feeling my best. Coaches are knowledgeable and know when to push, and when to suggest a scale. No egos at this gym. The gym is super clean (I've been to boxes where you get up from burpees and you're covered in dirt), and the equipment is well-kept. They have classes for those who are crossfitting at a more advanced age (Jigsaw Lite) which my mom has been a member for for years now. It's gotten her moving and stronger and always under the watchful eyes of caring coaches. Jigsaw also offers oly classes for those who want to improve their technique for Olympic lifting and cardio who want to really get their heart rate up (not me.. bit I've seen the aftermath of those classes and props to those people!) Ultimately what makes this place standout to me is the community. Owner/head coach Dal has done an amazing job fostering a family-like community of athletes from all different backgrounds with all different abilities. On top of taking care of its members, Jigsaw is always giving back. It hosts competitions and events throughout the year to benefit different charities and awareness (autism, flood relief, School of the Deaf and many more). I've been a member with Jigsaw Crossfit for over two years and couldn't be more satisfied with the training and coaches. After trying multiple gyms in my area it was refreshing to find a space that's inclusive with a genuinely pleasant atmosphere. I started out with cardio classes first, then began crossfit about a year in. Both programs are intense and push you to your limit. Long overdue review. I joined Crossfit Jigsaw in November 2015 and been a member since. This gym helped me stay healthy and push yourself to work harder, This gym isn't just any ordinary gym. The programing works! The community is great, the equipment is clean and very organized, the place of the gym is perfect because plenty of parking and not on a busy street. Coaches are well educated and helps you push through the WOD safely and effectively. I'm always greeted with a smile everyday I walk in whether it's from the coaches or members. Everyday is a different workout, you can never get bored unlike the regular gyms (24hrs/planet fitness). I visited this box twice already this week and am happy to say how incredibly sore I am. The facility itself is top notch- very clean and tidy. It's spacious too- so you don't feel like you're stepping on anyone. Going out for a run is no problem, since we run in the parking lot. There are two bathrooms and even a changing room. Coach Dal is freaking fantastic! He doesn't care if it's your first workout or if you're a pro- he'll modify the workouts to whatever your skill level is. He also pays close attention during the workouts to make sure you're safe and using the proper technique. The community here is top notch too! I am not across fit guy. But I came in here because they had an Assault Bike that I was interested in. So the trainer/staff let me check out their bikes w/o any hassle. When I first moved to the bay area I struggled to find a crossfit gym that not only had solid programming and coaches but that also had the sense of community I was looking for. Then I found Jigsaw. Jigsaw has absolutely been my savior. The space is big and has all the equipment you could ask for. The members and coaches are all welcoming and friendly. I also liked that on top of regular scheduled crossfit classes, there is a 8pm cardio class M-TH. It was perfect for the days I couldn't make the crossfit class due to work, but still wanted to get a sweat on, or just wanted some extra cardio for the day post wod. Prior to landing at CF Jigsaw, I did my homework and tried several gyms in the area. The coaches, programming and community are what keep me coming back. Dal and his team do a great job of creating a welcoming environment and challenging members to up the ante. i've visited a number of crossfit boxes over the years and I have to say this one ROCKS! it's spacious, clean and colorful - all huge pluses in my book, but what took this place to a 5 star is the coaching. It doesn't matter how great a box looks unless the coaching is up to par... Coach Dal knows how to take you from a crossfit novice to a crossfit competitor. He coaches in a way in that just makes sense and most importantly he makes you feel like a CHAMP regardless of what level you're at and how much you suck at pull ups (like me).. Whenever I'm in the area I stop in to get a great workout and be around a supportive and fun crossfit community! If you stop in make sure you pick up a tank or shirt - their design is hot! read more

I have family here in the Bay and found out that one of my friends from kindergarten calls Jigsaw her home box! I decided to give them a call and to check out their classes. I had Dal as my coach for the first day and AJ as my coach for two other visits. They were both great coaches and attentive to the needs of each individual athlete. I appreciated the way that the coaches took the time to go through the progressions of each movement so that beginners could get a quick review and experienced athletes could warm up for their movements. This place is amazing! I was looking for someplace that I (overweight and over 50) would feel comfortable in. I also wanted someplace that I could encourage my sprightly but aging mom (70 in the rearview mirror) to go with me to. We both need to stretch, move, do, be...I wanted someplace that would push us without letting us get hurt. I wanted someplace where the Big Dawgs exercising wouldn't look down on us or feel put off by our starting low and slow. I also wanted someplace where we were more than a number. This is it. This is the place!!! I didn't want hard sell and hundreds of fellow gym goers. I wanted facts, friendliness and a place that I could learn to love. I needed patience, encouragement, and a warm smile. Between Dal who owns the place and Rossy who coaches the Late Bloomers, I couldn't ask for any more. If you are unsure, feel like you're ready to make a change, but also want to do it in a clean, welcoming environment. Come on down. Hopefully, like me, you'll be very glad you did. PS. Ask for Rossy. Rating still a 2 star. To add, I gave this place over a year since it does take a while to get in the swing of new places. I tried and am really patient. Bottom line that I did not like was that the members are not very welcoming. Most convos were fake, the afternoon classes had tight groups of members that are also reading club members offsite, therefore leaving other members out in the cold when teaming up with WOD's. They say to join in on the social functions which we did but if you were not part of the other activities (that one was not invited to) you were not really included with anything else. Not a very warm environment for a new person. I still laugh at the trainer that feels she is some superior celeb just within Jigsaw. She's very cocky and tries to play off she is some hardcore athlete with everyone else lower than her. The owner though is nice but needs to figure things out that happen with his gym. Yes, this review IS for Crossfit Jigsaw. I went there on the daily for over a year to know what gym I went to. lol! read more

I have been to a number of crossfit gyms and this one stands out as one of the best. What sets it appart you ask? The coaching. Dal is an amazing coach. Because I have been doing crossfit for a while now, I sometimes find myself getting complacent. Dal keeps a close eye on everyone and reviews the movements every time. Every time I think I don't really need to listen because I have the movement in the bag, Dal is pointing out something I can do better or something can do to improve my time. The facility is great. There is a separate weight lifting room that is great for coming in and working on technique or just getting stronger. Dal is the owner and the head coach and he is at the gym all day. This really works for me because I can come in and do the WOD with a class and then do strength training on my own time without interrupting a class. Another thing that I look for in a gym is the community. The community here is amazing. I have been a member at the gym for 2 months and still have members coming up to me and introducing themselves. There is always going to be someone better than me and they are cheering me on, but the people that are slower are also cheering me on. Even when someone looks like they are ready to fall over from exhaustion, they are still cheering everyone on. The community also meets up outside of the gym for social events as well. My girlfriend and I had just moved to California from NM and were shopping around for a gym. After visiting a few places, we came across Jigsaw and knew from our introductory conversation that this was the place. I appreciate CrossFit gyms with some kind of on ramp program for new crossfitters. Dal, the owner, is very personable and has created a wonderful community. The members always introduce themselves when they see new faces. The coaching staff is knowledgeable and experienced at their craft. There are gyms that I've been that ooz egomania. This is not one of those places. The people here are down to earth. I've been crossfitting for several years, and I've learned new things, and have been exposed to different warm up exercises and drills. Can't say enough good things about this box. read more

I had my first day here in October and haven't left since. The people here are honestly good people, and that's the most important part. Everyone here wants to see your do your best and be your best. Dal teaches the classes I go to most (classes are all throughout the day) and is great at getting me to slow down and do the movements the right way. The place is HUGE too! Always plenty of space! This is a fantastic gym! I love all the coaches there...they may bark like a drill sargent but they really are a bunch of pussycats (don't tell them that I said that...LOL!). Actually they are all very supportive and will watch out for you. I came back to this gym after two injuries and many months of recovery and all the coaches have been very supportive of allowing me to ease back into exercising while challenging me to do better. This was very important to me since I didn't want any more injuries while I am working through my bucket list this next two years (alpine climbing, killimanjaro and other crazy stuff before I get too old). This place is like one big extended family...everybody is very welcoming and supportive. The gym is also clean, well equipped and very organized. This review is for the cardio sessions, the regular classes are pretty good. But the cardio instructor has no idea how to run these workouts. Seems confused most of the time. is all about writing down some workout on the board and roam around talking to someone. and adds some random workout in between to cover the whole hour. perfect example of someone who can workout but cant be an instructor. you won't get the feeling of doing a good workout after these sessions read more

Great gym, period. Dropped in for a month while in the Bay Area for work. I've been doing crossfit for 5+ years across 3 different states and as many gyms, and Dal's programming gave me a greater appreciation for high intensity and had me reevaluating what I look for in a gym. I've been a member at one gym with high turnover that was always geared towards beginners but frustrating for those with more experience, as well as another that leans toward the opposite extreme - very aggressive programming that is great for advanced people but leaves many rehabbing their bad shoulders... This gym nicely threads the needle between those two ends of the spectrum, with prescribed workouts that are challenging for experienced athletes while still being completely scalable and accessible to beginners. Warm-ups are extremely thorough, involving a decent amount of what seemed to me to be similar to power yoga and a decent workout in their own right, so your body gets completely primed for the workout of the day. We did not do much heavy lifting while I was there, but my body was no less sore after hard workouts because of Dal's emphasis on high intensity. It also seemed they have a really good community there. Folks were very welcoming to me as a newcomer. Plenty of space and nice equipment, too. They even have ski ergs, which I had never used before. In short, great programming, welcoming community, and nice facilities. Can't ask for much more. read more

My second home!! I crossfit between 5-6 days a week I love it that much. Crossfit Jigsaw not only offers crossfit classes but also an olympic lifting program. The members there are all so friendly and encouraging. The coaches help tailor workouts for certain individuals to make sure that they are scaled appropriately. Not only are the members, staff and workouts amazing but so is the facility. It has it's own weight lifting area equipped with 5 platforms, squat racks, bars and bumper plates. There are 2 restrooms and separate changing rooms. The space for the majority of the workouts is equipped with a giant rig used for squats, pull ups, muscle ups, toes to bar; there are a ton of bars and bumper plates. They even have dumbbells, wall balls, kettlebells, foam rollers, boxes for jumping on, rowers, ropes for climbing, rings, yoga mats.. The list just never ends. There is even a lounge area with a tv that I just hang out in after working out. Crossfit Jigsaws community is amazing and anyone that hasn't at least dropped in to see the place I highly recommend doing so, and while you're there you might as well sign up for a free into!! read more

Dear Dena K: I think you are talking about another gym. I am really surprise to see your review, it does not sound like the CF Jigsaw that I joined from opening day one and have been a continuous member since. All the coaches are very encouraging and supportive when they see an athlete who can do better; they would have someone scale down if they see that the athlete is really not ready, but they will advice you on how to work up to it. I have seen many new athletes to CF at Jigsaw who were able to compete in scaled events after a relatively short time doing CF; for sure they had the encouragement and guidance of the coaches. At Jigsaw, there are many couples, parents and their adult kids, friends who joined together and definitely friends made. Your descriptions of the attitudes you encountered do not sound like members of Jigsaw; actually they do not sound like the Crossfit Community at all. Jigsaw is one of the most welcoming gym, and well kept clean place. I know if I was having a bad day, going to my workout at Jigsaw, and be surrounded by the other members and coaches, that makes a great ending to my day. I told myself I'd give it a year before I wrote a review...I've survived a year and CrossFit Jigsaw really is the best! I came in for the trial class overweight, incredibly out of shape, and recovering from an injury that had kept me from walking for a few months. Even though I felt like I wasn't the ideal Cross Fit participant when I walked in, everyone at Jigsaw was so welcoming and supportive that I can't imagine going anywhere else. The coaches work hard to make every workout fit your abilities, so even though you might not being doing exactly what is written on the board, you are working just as hard as everyone else in the room. Coach Dal programs the best workouts (ok, they really suck, but only in the best way), and when you leave, you know you gave it your all! Jigsaw is super-clean with tons of equipment, the coaches and other members are friendly and supportive, and it offers a class schedule that is sure to meet your needs. read more
