This is in regards to Thunder moving answer to my last review. First off you are not telling the truth .I spoke to a salesman who first off lied to me about cost, and that was the only contract we saw till after the move and that one my wife signed then you copied her signature and placed it in the boxes you wanted ive got a copy now and you can tell they were electronic and pasted. Secondly I have pics of the back of the van to show there was plenty of room for my other stuff. The boxes you checked for insurance was to pays 60 cents a pound for damaged goods. Who in their right mind right mind would want 60 cent a pound as compensation? The extra you so graciously offered was 75 dollars . So 30 for my tv and 75 out of your kindness for a 500 dollar brand new tv that you made me pay 40 for a bok for it to not get broken. So I lost over what I paid u to move me and your gracious offer is 75. How about your smart elec employee who flared up in anger at my wife when asked about loading the rest of our stuff. And it goes on and on .what I signed at the end hasn't even been givin to me because he practically ran out my house . And no there were no boxes checked and it was 500 more than your estimate. All im asking for is you man up and pay for the tv you broke. You would want the same. But I can promise in no universe I live in would I ever sign for 60 cents a pound for my stuff. Extremely disappointed with the service we received. Several boxes were clearly labeled "Fragile" and "Do Not Stack," yet one mover ignored these warnings and stacked heavy boxes on top anyway. He also broke a desk during the move, and we now have to go through the process of getting reimbursed for the damage. He also did not speak English, which made communication very difficult and required us to direct him through each step ourselves, something we hired a moving company to avoid. The only mover who could communicate with us was clearly overwhelmed and, to make matters worse, the mover who could not speak english had headphones in during the move, making it even harder to give directions. Overall, it felt like we were doing the move ourselves despite paying for professional help. I would not recommend this company based on our experience. read more

I hired your company to move some furniture and an appliance. We spoke on the phone, discussed the items to be moved, and I was quoted an hourly rate. We scheduled the move for the 19th at 11 a.m. No insurance or additional coverage was discussed--just the hourly rate. I received a text with very little information. The movers showed up at 1 p.m.--two hours late. One of them handed my daughter a phone and asked her to sign it to start the move. Nothing was explained, and no mention of any additional coverage was made. They began moving items, and it became clear that one employee was in a rush and did not want to be there. While my daughter was emptying the refrigerator, the employee grew agitated because he wanted to leave early to watch an NBA game. He told my daughter to leave a few items inside the fridge (a couple of sodas and some condiments). It was difficult to get the fridge out of the house, and the employee became even more irritated about having to go unload it. He began calling his boss, asking to be relieved. When unloading the fridge from the truck--which had not been secured with straps--the other mover went to check the pathway and told the agitated employee, "Wait just a minute to check the path." Instead, the employee spun the fridge 360 degrees by himself, lost control, and dropped it, ultimately breaking a refrigerator that was only a year old and cost $2,300. The employee then called me (I was out of state for work) to inform me of the damage. I asked if the fridge was strapped, and he said "no." I asked how many people were handling it, and he first said "two" but then changed his story. I told him to contact his boss and have them call me. He responded, "It's after hours." I replied, "You're working after hours--call your boss." I waited for a call and received nothing. I called my family, asking if the employee had contacted his boss. He then told them, "I don't have their number." I was on speakerphone and told him to get on his phone and make the call. The general manager eventually called me and tried to scold me for yelling at his employee. He said it was after hours and essentially blamed me for the damage, saying we left items in the fridge. I asked the GM why a major appliance wasn't strapped to a dolly, and he replied, "We do this all the time." He told me I'd receive $0.60 per pound for the damaged fridge. He insisted someone signed the contract and that was that. I told him I did not sign any contract and was never offered additional coverage. When I asked my daughter, she confirmed no such options were mentioned. The employee just told her to "sign so we can start the move." I asked the GM how this makes sense, and he replied, "That's how all moving companies do it," adding, "This is the contract, and we're sticking to it." Over the years, I've moved across multiple states with various moving companies and have never experienced anything like this. There was a complete lack of communication and customer service, and a total disregard for someone else's property--all because one employee wanted to watch a basketball game. I do not recommend Thunder Moving. I believe the employee should be fired, and the general manager clearly lacks any sense of professionalism or customer care. My daughter did not hire you--I did--and trying to pass her rushed signature off as contract acceptance is pathetic. read more

I had a quote and accepted 2 hours minimum. Because I could not physically move a few (less than 10) items, not realizing the job took around 25 minutes, including the 4 block drive from storage to home. I called immediately after for business to reconsider a partial refund and stated the gentleman left without asking if anything else needed to be done since the "minimum" applied. I called the manager several times to see if an exception on the business practice would be considered and the answer was flat no. They knew it was way over charging for service provided. Maybe go with a more premium choice. 2 big things; if you pay cash they don't offer change, also they broke my microwave. They dropped my microwave from about 10 or so feet off the truck and into my yard, said the glass wasn't broken so it should be fine to bad when I plug it in the microwave thinks the door is always open so it won't work anymore. better check for another moving company....they loaded my belongings into two PODS. When the PODS were delivered to my new house, I wanted to cry! All of my nice furniture was just shoved into the PODS, not wrapped as I asked, some of the moving blankets and straps weren't even used.... My furniture is full of scratches and dents. Thunder Moving has staff who don't care about your items. I tried to file a claim...but got nowhere with that. read more

They broke our newest and most expensive appliance, costing our family thousands. We used Thunder Moving and the guys were nice but slow moving. They took almost twice as long as we were quoted. After they left and we got back from closing on the house (we hadn't been inside) we realized our refrigerator that was only a few years old and in perfect condition was completely non-functional. The door was so banged up it wouldn't close and was beeping and water was coming out the bottom. A repairman said it was considered "totaled." On top of moving expenses we had to buy a brand new fridge which wasn't in stock for weeks. We had live-saving medications that had to be kept at neighbor's houses. It was really stressful and I hope other people don't have to go through this. If you use them make sure you buy the insurance that covers damaged appliances- either way it's going to cost you. We have moved 10 times in 12 years, so we are familiar with the process and have had little things here and there break- never had our fridge broke or so bagged up it's not operable. ETA: Thunder Moving offered us $120 as compensation for a broken $1200 fridge and a month of inconvenience but they never actually sent us anything. read more

I had a very good experience with Thunder Moving. I had already gotten quotes from several companies when I messaged Kye on Yelp. I am glad I switched for a few reasons. 1) Some other moving companies charge you from the time their truck leaves their own building to the time they get back to their own building, which makes zero sense. Thunder Moving only charges you for time the guys spend actually moving, down to the minute. 2) Kye responds basically instantly, most of the time within minutes. Communication was flawless, which is of insane importance on days where everything overlaps and needs to happen as smoothly as possible. 3) I told Kye I couldn't match an exact 2:00 PM window because I was closing on my house right at 1:00 PM and didn't know how long it would take. He said it was no problem and that he would let the team know. I happened to close early and messaged Kye and the moving team called me within like 20 minutes. 4) Clayton and Cade were very polite and professional. They had a trustworthy, small business demeanor and at no point did I feel uncomfortable in a series of potentially stressful/vulnerable situations. I immediately told them that I had one item I was worried about, a massive marble table that took me and my friends great effort to move. Clayton and Cade picked it up like a Ritz cracker and said that they could do it no problem. When placing the actual table at the new house, I initially wanted them to put it off-center to fit a side table in the dining room, but Cade said, "Do you want it under the light?" and I thought, "duh, he's right." I'm glad he said something cuz it would be a royal pain in my ass to move it later, even a few feet. Clayton seemed to have the leadership role and asked all the right questions and was very efficient with time and going over paperwork. He started the clock literally the minute they started moving so there was no "bloat" or an inflated price. He even slightly corrected a few minutes we had spent going over some things since the actual moving was done. Overall, he came across very knowledgeable and definitely has leadership potential. Cade was awesome too and super friendly. When I first saw them get out of the truck, I thought "man these guys are string beans," but actually they were super strong. At one point Cade was carrying a million pound object with just his fingers and had a facial expression like he was carrying a piece of paper. From the time the clock started to the time they were done, they were in constant movement. There was no slacking or breaks, not that I would have complained if they needed breaks. I'm just pointing out these two guys were super efficient. They made a plan for every object and communicated well between each other. Anyone who's moved knows that the planning part is the most important when trying to fit weird-shaped things through small doors and they made a great team. It would have taken me and my friends double the amount of time with triple the amount of headache. 5) The ending price was actually cheaper than I expected. There were no hidden fees, literally just the math of the hourly rate times the minutes used. I think maybe there were some minor charges for things like wrap or something, but I either didn't use it or didn't use much. 6) Their Yelp reviews were WAY better than competitors. Even the complaints seem to have the irate customer dying off on responses while Kye is still replying. If you're that mad and have a justifiable reason, I don't see why you wouldn't keep following up both in email and on Yelp. Definitely seems like if Thunder were in the wrong, you wouldn't let them have the last word and just give up. Anyway, obviously I can't speak to their ability to handle disputes, etc. since my experience was seamless, but I've worked in CS/Management for a long time and have dealt with thousands of irate customers. I've never seen a customer who was absolutely in the right just stop responding. If you got the proof, you got the proof, and you aren't going to stop chasing money that you feel is yours. Just my two cents. Anyway, moving is super annoying and I hope I never have to do it again. Even with Thunder doing all the heavy lifting, I'm exhausted and in pain. But if I had to move again I would for sure use Thunder Moving and highly recommend them. read more

Absolutely careless, terrible moving service. The worst I have ever experienced. My belongings were taken to a storage unit and essentially thrown into the unit without any care for how they were stacked and stored. This resulted in significant damage to many pieces of furniture, including expensive leather chairs and lamps, which I did not discover until I went to take the belongings out of storage a few months later. I sent pictures of the damage to Thunder Moving and all I got was a callous response. Thunder moving did not take any responsibility of the terrible job, nor did they apologize, let alone refund any of the moving costs. If you want your furniture and belongings treated carelessly and damaged in your next move, use Thunder Moving in Oklahoma City, but if what you're looking for is professional, high quality service, avoid them like the plague. read more

Based on all the five star reviews, it's more likely than not that you will have a great experience with Thunder Moving. Some friends even used them recently and had a great experience. BUT if anything goes wrong, be prepared to be met with a dismissive, defensive attitude from the owner. I don't even have to explain my issues with how our move was handled - you can simply read his responses to other negative reviews. He doesn't validate their experience, and instead gives an "I'm sorry you felt that way but here's why you're wrong" kind of response. It appears to be damage control and reputation preservation more than sincerity. His own staff described him as "stingy" and unwilling to bend, which to me that says a lot about the culture of this company. I chose Thunder Moving based on a recommendation and my desire to always support local, but I cannot in good conscience recommend this company after my interaction with the owner. If you do choose hire them, double your budget, be prepared to have it take twice as long, and pray that nothing goes wrong. I'm giving three stars instead of just one because our items, though not wrapped in plastic even though I requested it, did arrive safely and only two or three items that we've seen so far had minor damage. read more

We've moved several times in the OKC area and our latest move with Thunder Moving was by far the easiest. Scheduling was super easy, it just took a few minutes. They emailed me the day before to confirm, which I really appreciated. Sam, KD, and Luke showed up on time, were professional, and got the whole truck packed up in less than three hours. Unloading was just as easy. They took the time to put everything exactly where I needed it and were super careful with our stuff. They took more than what I originally thought that they would be able to fit in the truck but those guys were able to make it work. I would give 0 stars if I could. We called them because they had the best reviews and we wanted a trustworthy company to move my elderly parents. Boy were we wrong! First of all, they quoted us $2100 to move from a 2 bedroom home to another 2 bedroom home. They charged us $4500. They took everything out of the dressers and boxed all the clothes which cost extra for the boxes. Things that were supposed to go to the house went to storage and things that were supposed to go to storage went to the house. They left a ton of stuff at the old house. After we called and complained about that, they did send a truck out the next day at no charge and took off 2 hours from our bill. If they hadn't taken off the 2 hours, we would had to pay more than $4500. Even after the free truck came out, they still left a ton of stuff in the kitchen. We're still finding out things they did wrong. It was the biggest mess. I do not recommend them at all. read more

Fantastic in every way. I live in another state and was coordinating a local move for my senior dad. Called Thunder on a Tuesday, booked for Thursday. Team was on time, polite, efficient and hard working. Owner contacted us with a resolution in which we were satisfied, this was not about money it was about customer service and the movers not doing the job in which we hired them to do. I used thunder moving on July 16th. Moving from a 1 bedroom to a house. One of the movers seemed under the influence (high) and scraped up my wall of my new home while also puncturing it with my bed railing. I didn't get an apology or anything they all just looked at me when it happened to see how I'd respond I wasn't upset about this much but then once I got settled in I noticed the same gentleman who damaged my wall also broke my nightstand so I immediately called the worker and he said there was nothing he could do but to call the direct line for help so I did just that and was told to email thundercustomercare@gmail along with the pictures of the damage nightstand and I've yet to hear back. Great moving company. I used Yelp to request quotes. Thunder was very responsive. I got them the info they were reasonably priced and very up front on cost. After they had a cancellation I was able to move up to a Friday am move (same week) Crew texted on the way, they were on time and worked hard the entire time. They were careful with everything. No breaks dents or scratches. Alex and Buddha worked non stop to get everything done in a timely fashion. Do not use Thunder Moving. They damaged several pieces of furniture by not using moving blankets to protect our furniture against metal dollies. After this they still charged us full price. To top that off, they completely destroyed our new fridge I drove 2 hours one way to get. I had to fight with them to get us a fridge. No lie they deliver the same quality fridge with damage and rust issues in the ice maker that we didn't notice till after move, guess that's our fault some but thought for sure they would've inspected the fridge to make sure there was no damage. They still never gave us a discount off the original price or anything. I had to fight with Nick, a manger, to at least get us a fridge. To compensate for furniture they decided to send us a check for $120 which was a joke. One dresser alone they took a chunk out of, which was new btw, cost about $1,000. Awful customer service. Additionally, they broke my friends $3k tv a month ago during a move and they bought them a new tv and then did another move for them that was flawless. My friend arranged for those same guys to move us and had confirmed with Nick to do so. Def was a new set of guys who knew nothing. Also they turned my deep freeze completely upside down. We used Thunder Moving after rave reviews from a friend who had used them twice. I arranged with Kye, the owner, and had two changes I had to email him on prior to moving day. Everything went seamlessly. Nick and Tyler were our movers. We had 7 ft bookcases going into 6 ft 6 in door on the second floor. Nick took control and handled the situation. all furniture we had moved from two houses had no scratches and was handled with care. Highly recommend and will definitely be using them again! They called to let me know when they would be here and then both Nick and Tyler, did a excellent job of getting everything packed and took extra care on my older pieces. There hourly rate is very competitive and really like they charge per the minute after the first two hour; no rounding up. I had a fantastic experience working with thunder moving! I've never used a mover before but will for sure be using them again if I need it. 1. The owner Kye, was so patient with me and my 800 questions and multiple phone calls and was super flexible when I had to reschedule. 2. Their prices were very reasonable. 3. The movers I got the day of, Nick and Joe, were awesome. THEY EVEN SHOWED UP EARLY. I always have heard horror stories of movers showing up late or not at all. That wasn't the case here. THEN, it started pouring down rain when they started, naturally. They did everything they could to keep all of my furniture dry and didn't complain once about the weather, they just kept going. I decided i needed help moving pretty last minute with about a week and a half notice. Thunder moving fit me in and did an incredible job! They were on time and didn't stop working until the job was done.
