I decided I wanted a gun safe. Trouble is, I don't have a truck or a trailer or a dolly, and the thing weighed more than 400 pounds. I called Kye (that's right, his name is Kye), the owner of Thunder Moving, to ask if he'd be willing to haul a single item from the store, bring it into my house and get it situated where I wanted it. I didn't expect him to say yes. I was going to try to round up some friends, rent a U-Haul and spend a fortune on the rental, gas, mileage and food and drinks for my buddies. But Kye said he would do it. I thought it'd cost a fortune. And he said he might not be able to move it until the middle of next week. Well, I bought it yesterday. He and an employee of his picked it up and delivered it today. The store was probably 14 miles away. Once they got it here, they had to remove some bolts to clear the safe from the pallet it was sitting on, and then they had to negotiate a very tight turn to move it into a hallway and get it properly positioned. The cost? $130. For context, the store (Academy) wanted $199 to deliver the safe to the curb. I would've been on my own after that, trying to figure out how to get it inside. Thunder Moving is a new company in Edmond, but Kye is an experienced mover (and very strong). I could not be more pleased with my entire interaction with him and his companion. Nobody likes to spend money, but I'm thrilled they brought my safe here so quickly and for such a reasonable rate. I recommend Thunder Moving without any hesitation. Help a new business get going. My sister and I hired Thunder Moving to move our mother out of her house after 20 years. She has a lot of heavy furniture and it is over 100 this time of year. Keith and Jack arrived on time and assessed what they were working with and how to approach the situation. Keith and Jack packed the truck very effiencently and professionally and were great the entire time they were working despite the ridiculous heat of the day. After a long day of packing the truck they delivered everything to storage and then managed to get everything into storage for us! We could not have been more happy with such wonderful individuals. Both Keith and Jack were very professional and hard working with great attitudes throughout the entire day regardless of the situation (heavy furniture, ridiculous heat, old people asking questions, etc). My sister, my mother and I were all very happy with our experience with Thunder Moving and will be contacting them again when we move our mother's stuff out of storage and into her new house after it is finished. We have moved quite a few times in our lives and dealt with the back breaking work of doing it ourselves when we were younger to hiring people now that we are older. I don't know what it is but movers can be the worst. When it's not their own stuff they just treat it so rough and are very careless. Not Thunder Moving! Adam, Reed, and Peyton were super careful, quick, and kind. They arrived on time (early actually), explained how it would work and then got right to it. When people are getting paid hourly, I've noticed some people tend to drag their feet a little. But not these guys, they were efficient and careful. I am so thankful for them, they really did an outstanding job. I don't know how they got our two super heavy couches upstairs without scuffing the walls but they did! Great experience. I found them here on Yelp and they messaged back within an hour with an hourly quote and available times. Arranged the whole thing through Yelp and it was painless. Quoted me $140/hr for weekdays and $150/hr for the weekend with a 2h minimum. I was moving from one unit to another in the same apartment so I only needed them for 2h. There was a $60 transport fee that I didn't find out about until the end of the process, so I would ask about that when you ask for a quote. My movers Reed and Anthony were pleasant, worked hard, and worked in a timely and efficient manner. For a bit of constructive feedback, I would recommend bringing mattress covers, it would have made moving my mattress easier on my movers but they got it done nonetheless. Thunder moving was amazing. Kye made sure we were set with courteous professionalism and great communication! Moving day came and Joe and Seth worked nonstop, very hard, and very careful. These are the kind of guys you trust to juggle your wife's great grandmothers China. We had a tremendous amount of boxes and they packed up everything with great care and organization. Could not have been a better experience with great pricing. Bonus- We had a one way truck out of state so we rented our own truck and just had Joe and Seth helping load. When we noticed our rental truck's tire being low Kye came right over and helped us out with his compressor so we could get on down the road! And it's not even his truck! Today Jay and Mason moved us into our new home, and they were outstanding. Really cool guys. They were both super friendly and did an extremely efficient job. Jake and Adam showed up on time and were very polite and professional. Jake went over some additional insurance details, but I was moving right around the corner so I wasn't too worried. The got right to work and made my life so much easier. I had really heavy dressers and lived on the top floor of the complex I was in then a bit of a walk to their truck, I commend them on their amazing job!!!!!!!!!!! Got furniture put where I wanted it in the new place with no issue. I plan on being in my place for a while but if I have to move again I will definitely use Thunder Moving again!!!!! Forgive my tardiness. I hired Thunder Moving a week ago to handle two storage units and a small house. Michael, Kevin and Timothy showed up with smiles on their faces ready to work. Blake and Nick were great. Moving is very stressful and I was certainly frazzled. They were very patient and accommodating. They were a little late, but it wasn't a big deal. I couldn't believe how strong they were. They carried my heavy armoire up a flight of stairs (among other many heavy items) w/no problem. Tyler and Justin did a great job. It was a two stop move. The move started at residence, then went to long-term storage and then final destination. They were great about grabbing miscellaneous items that weren't in a box like the ironing board, pet supplies, and clothing. Things I thought I would have to move myself.
