Great tacos, friendly atmosphere. We were looking for a place to get a quick bite to eat before a show at Carnegie Hall. We settled on Thunderbird Taco largely on the basis of Yelp reviews, and we're glad we did. The restaurant is very unassuming, with a row of booths along the wall, and another couple at the front window. It's very casual--you order from the counter and they bring you your order (unless you're doing take out). The person who took our order was friendly and provided menus as we're newbies. The selection of tacos, bowls, and burritos is quite good--about seven of each. There's plenty for both vegetarians and omnivores alike. We ordered the tofu and cilantro, the sweet-potato, and the signature Thunderbird tacos. You have your choice of flour or corn tortillas. The quality of the ingredients and preparation are where TC really shines. Everything was fresh, well chosen, and well-prepared. (Note that all the tacos come with shredded cabbage which we loved, but if you don't like cabbage, ask for it to be left off.) There is a small but good selection of beer in cans as well as water and soft drinks. There may have been wine and spirits, but we didn't notice, sorry... If you're in Lewisburg for lunch or dinner and have a hankering for good tacos in a friendly atmosphere, stop in TC. read more

I've been here multiple times and I've never had anything I didn't like. One of my favorites is the carne asada bowl. All the ingredients are always so fresh and the flavors are fantastic. This is the best taco place I have ever been to. Period. Some amazing tacos and burritos with beef and chicken from their own farm. It's not your cookie cutter menu from your standard Mexican restaurant. No, this menu has some serious creativity going on in a fantastic way. Not from West Virginia but this establishment was a Nice and family friendly place to go for a great and tasteful meal. I ordered the regular crow in a bowl on top of rice which I must say is a very creative alternative Incase you just don't feel like eating a soft or even hard taco. Pretty genius in my opinion. The food was very tasteful and definitely pleased my palate and the portion size was perfect. Overall establishment atmosphere was great but a little small. The staff was very friendly and inviting. What a treat this place is! Slightly odd inside, arrows, boomerangs, and boat names. But the food? Killer. Fresh, flavorful and fun. Carne Asado taco was delicious, husbands mex burrito and rice was just as good. Roasted veggies make a difference! Friends quesadilla was grilled just a bit too long, caused it to taste burnt. I'm not much on the hustle and business that comes with Lewisburg. But I started eating at this restaurant back in the summer. Usually a lunch time spot for me. Twice a month or so since I work in the area. I really enjoy the tacos and the Quesadilla's I haven't had anything I didn't like. The food is local and fresh and everything just has awesome-flavor and taste especially their hot sauce. But I'll tell you why I'm giving them a 5 star. Even though the food is worth each star it is more so for the way that the employees are on their game each and every time. Rather it is a slow day or a fast one they never change. They make you feel like their glad you came in and they go above the call to make sure you enjoy your time with them and their food. Lamest $8 burrito I've ever had. It was small, and tasted like something I could, and have, made at home. Wish I was directed towards the tacos, since I bet they are good. Don't want the review to hurt the overall ratings but I'm too annoyed by that wannabe burrito that I had to say something. Also you can at least toast the tortilla or buy better ones! We were very excited to try this place out since it's a big deal around here, but we were disappointed. We got the southwest burrito with spicy chicken added and it was bland. We really wish there was more spice to it. We also got the carne asada taco, which tasted good but I wouldn't say it's worth $5 since it's tiny. They did give us a free tortilla to give our baby and were very friendly and helpful! We just wish that there was more flavor! read more
