Our first time trying to dine at Mi Tequila Mexican Restaurant was our last time that we will be going there. Our basket of so-called chips were crumbs, cold, and stale. The waiter, who would not be nominated for or win a Mr. Congeniality Award, would not crack a smile, nor would he use paper and a pen to write down our order like the other servers there did and like servers everywhere usually do. After asking us to repeat what we wanted and leaving our table, he came back to ask us what we wanted again but did not write it down the second time either. The food was cold, horrible, and wrong with no cheese sauce on the burritos as ordered instead of the sour weird tasting red sauce that ruined everything: the burritos, enchilada, and authentic chile Relleno. The burrito and taco ground beef tasted like plain low grade fatty boiled meat with no seasoning. The chile Relleno batter was thick, overcooked, and tough, while the sweet tea was not sweetened at all. To top it off, the waiter without a photographic memory did not ask us if we needed anything else or even come back to check on us after he dumped off the food. My husband had to go up to the bar to get our check and pay so we could get out of there as soon as possible since it took forever for our food to arrive. Our waiter was standing behind the bar twiddling his thumbs but quickly ran to the back to hide when he saw my husband approach that area. When telling the female employee about all of the issues, she just stood there with a mad deer in the headlights look on her face and did not even offer an apology let alone anything else like a discount on our grand total we owed. We thought we had found a new and unique place for our late anniversary dinner, but unfortunately it was a big mistake so we will have to have a redo somewhere else. The location, convenient parking, and airport scenery were the best parts about the experience. The poor quality food, unfriendly staff, and lack of West Virginia hospitality would not leave a welcoming first impression for travelers flying in and out of the Greenbrier Valley Airport let alone for the locals and others driving there from other parts of the Mountain State and other states.We drove an hour and a half to try this place but will not be repeat customers and instead stick with driving only an hour to Mi Rancho Mexican Restaurant in Rupert, WV. read more

I was a bit surprised to find that the restaurant was in an airport. I was seated immediately and was greeted with chips and salsa as soon as I sat down. The chips were okay, but I didn't care much for the salsa. I asked for some spicy salsa, and it came out quickly. It was warm and runny with a decent amount of heat. For my meal, I ordered shrimp and fish tacos and a cheese enchilada. The tacos were okay. I liked the flavor that the grill added, but a little sauce or even some sour cream would've made it better. I added the spicy salsa to it which helped a little. The enchilada was really good. It was really cheesy and I liked the red sauce on top. Overall, everything was just okay to me. read more

Four stars as a Mexican restaurant but FIVE stars for a Mexican restaurant located in a teeny tiny airport in the middle of West Virginia! First of all, this is a good place to go even if you are not flying into or out of Greenbrier Valley Airport/Lewisburg/LWB. It is open consistent hours throughout the week, has an extensive menu, and a full bar. It also has outdoor seating, with a view of the surrounding mountains AND of planes landing and taking off. We have been a few times, mostly for quick bites before departure, so we haven't really investigated the menu. The complimentary chips and salsa are quite good, pretty sure salsa is made in-house, not in a can. It is thin with some heat, very tasty. The margaritas are perfect, exactly what you are looking for in a classic style, not a craft style, but not overly sweet. Most of the entrees tend to be adjusted for BEING IN WEST VIRGINIA (i.e. not terribly spicy, and tend to have more cheese sauce than is truly necessary) but who is complaining? There is an actual Mexican joint serving margs on Sunday in the middle of nowhere! read more

As others have said, it is on the airport grounds and is a little difficult to find. Follow signs for the restaurant and it's in the second of the larger buildings. Great food with ample serving sizes. Chips and salsa is always good though the spiciness varies from day to day. I like mine bland my wife likes hers spicy. Service is almost always quick and courteous. The ambiance does lack a little to be desired as it can be very noisy at times when the place is packed ( which seems to be most of the time) Definitely my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. A gem in the middle of small town Lewisburg. Such clean kitchen and staff is amazing. Authentic taste for Mexican healthy food. Vegetarian options are so amazing. The habanero sauce on the side is just perfect. John who hails from Mexico, the chef, came over to the table and checked on us. Try the veggie enchilada with rice and beans for lunch and dinner. Won't go wrong with any of the options. Portions are generous. So we ordered one at a time. We visited the Greenbrier resorts and got bored of the Italian and American foods. The food was fine, but their tea, while "made from scratch" has that taste pouring newly brewed tea in with the old tea. That makes it all taste old. Why restaurants do this, other than to save money, or just lazy, I don't know. But for me, it's not a plus when you get "old tasting" tea. I don't mean to be negative, but hopefully, the owners will read this post and change their "tea policy".
