The same employee who checked her in and personally handed her the room key later went to her room and began banging aggressively on the door. At the time, my wife was in the shower. She called out through the door that she was in the shower and could not open it. Despite this, the employee--James--continued to bang on the door and demanded that she open it to identify herself and provide her ID. This made no sense, as he already knew who she was and had just checked her in moments earlier. He persisted multiple times, insisting she open the door. This behavior terrified my wife. She felt unsafe, vulnerable, and unsure of what to do, especially as a woman alone in the room. I was on the phone with her during the incident and heard everything unfold in real time. Because of how unsafe she felt, my wife made the decision to leave the hotel and check out immediately. No guest--especially a woman staying alone--should ever be made to feel frightened or pressured like this by hotel staff. This experience was extremely disappointing, and I will be contacting corporate to report this incident. This type of behavior is completely unacceptable, and no one should ever be made to feel this way while staying at a hotel.

If I could not give any stars I wouldn't. I always try to find good in all of my reviews but…read morethis place was absolutely filthy. The overall hotel decorum is very dated, dusty, damaged and dirty. The minute my husband and I walked into the lobby area we thought we were in a sleazy hotel. We will NEVER stay here again!!! Hubby made the reservation after seeing a glowing review for this place but once we enter the foyer area then entered our room we had to take another look at the review he saw again. It appeared to be a review page from the parent company (Wyndham). However, Yelp's review pegged this place correctly (1 1/2 stars). Do yourself a big favor steer absolutely clear of this hotel. We arrived late at night from Atlanta and had no choice but to stay here. The bedsheets were not white. They appeared to be old and dingy (brownish yellow). We chose to sleep atop the covers. Our curtains were badly stained (possibly coffee, dirt or who knows) and looked as though they had been that way for a verrry long time. What was also surprisingly bad was that the furniture in our room (#1006) looked as though the pieces had been purchased separately from a flea market. Seriously, everything looked used and badly worn out. Nothing matched (style, wood grain nor color). The furniture was badly scratched up, bleached out looking and peeling. Our couch had old brown stains on it (dried blood or coffee?). The wallpaper was buckling in places and peeling off in others. It took us a long time to get to sleep. So, after not sleeping comfortably here I am at 4:07am writing this review. Wyndham and Ramada Inn, you should be ashamed of yourself. Being a retired Corp Officer myself, someone from your corporate office needs to come here and see for yourselves how horrible this place is. Between the deplorable condition of this hotel, the "working" girl either in the room above or next to us above us and train horns blowing up the street to intermittently throughout the night, our experience was the very worst ever. We chose this hotel vs. ones where we usually stay (Washington Rd) because it was closer to the venue we came to Augusta for. HUGE mistake. My husband kept apologizing for bringing us here. It was not his fault. It was an unfortunate occurrence. The coffee pot, coffee and condiments were in the bathroom next to the toilet (never seen that before... unsanitary and nasty). When checking in my husband asked about breakfast and was told that the cook had been sick so they were not serving breakfast (lol). Unbelievable and that's when we came to our room and it went downhill from there. There was neither a "no disturb" or "please clean room" signs on the door.

For us, it was clean, no signs of bugs and the bed was comfortable. But-and this is a big BUT-its next to train tracks and one passes every couple hours overnight blowing its horns loudly. Good luck sleeping. Also our toilet needed repair because the tank was emptying into the bowl and constantly refilling-also waking us up. Check in was slow because only one employee at desk with a lobby full of customers. Whole hotel was outdated, dresser looked like it came from a thrift store. Hairdryer blew hard for about 25 seconds and handle got hot while holding it. Find another place to stay.
