My wife was staying at this hotel alone, and shortly after checking in, she had a very frightening experience that caused her to feel completely unsafe. The same employee who checked her in and personally handed her the room key later went to her room and began banging aggressively on the door. At the time, my wife was in the shower. She called out through the door that she was in the shower and could not open it. Despite this, the employee--James--continued to bang on the door and demanded that she open it to identify herself and provide her ID. This made no sense, as he already knew who she was and had just checked her in moments earlier. He persisted multiple times, insisting she open the door. This behavior terrified my wife. She felt unsafe, vulnerable, and unsure of what to do, especially as a woman alone in the room. I was on the phone with her during the incident and heard everything unfold in real time. Because of how unsafe she felt, my wife made the decision to leave the hotel and check out immediately. No guest--especially a woman staying alone--should ever be made to feel frightened or pressured like this by hotel staff. This experience was extremely disappointing, and I will be contacting corporate to report this incident. This type of behavior is completely unacceptable, and no one should ever be made to feel this way while staying at a hotel. read more

It had to be just an off season for them! Murphy's law coupled with subpar experience this time-to say the least! This is odd for this place. Checked in on Wednesday evening after a long flight from the West Coast and a long drive from the airport. Our 3rd time staying here. Check in went smoothly! The ladies at the front desk on Nov 27 between 3:30 & 4:30 were great and very personable. Awesome actually-as was the concierge Joe (at first). Got to our room. Here's where the fun begins. We placed our luggage in the room but prior to doing so I did my black light check of the room. No major issues noted by the black light inspection. Floors weren't very clean (partially vacuumed and slight shoe marks in bathroom) but nothing detrimental at first. After placing our luggage, fruit and water in the room, we waited for Joe to bring up our extra towels and then we left to surprise visit our family. When we returned much later that evening (after further inspection of the sheets and pillows) we discovered the fitted sheet had make up on it and the pillow cases had mascara and some type of yellow color ( neither were bodily fluids as my black light would have detected it). There was also a stain on the headboard.Because it was so late, we didn't sleep under the sheets but rather covered the bed and pillows with the extra towels and our travel blanket and slept on top of the bedding. Also, that evening when we took out showers, we noticed all of the body wash, shampoo and conditioner were either out or very low. So, we retired for the night super exhausted. Thursday morning we placed our towels outside of the door and asked one of the housekeeping staff for the shower gel. He gave it to us but instead of coming in to place it in the dispenser, he told my husband how to install it. Wowwww! We reported the soiled sheets prior to going out on Thursday morning hoping they would be changed before we returned. Nope! So upon our return to the hotel, I approached the person at the front desk and showed her pictures of the sheets and headboard. She wasn't very personable, had a face like she ate a bag of lemons and was interrupting saying, "I don't have another room to move you to" (we never asked to be). I told her we have too much to move but if she could give us all new linen, that would be great. She did except for the pillowcases. So my husband had to go get them after making it upstairs. Went to the bar to get a couple of drinks. Bartender was very limited on knowledge of drink menu and how to make them, ur she was very sweet. On Friday we left out again only to return to our room without fresh towels. Had to request and retrieve again. We also didn't have service nor a refresh. No problem again. On Saturday morning (Day 3) we left out around 1030. We stopped and asked the front desk clerk if our room would still be serviced since it was so late. She stated that it would and not to worry because the housekeepers just started to work for the day. Against my better judgment I trusted her word!! Came back to our room around 8:00ish and found it in the same condition as we left it plus the light bulb blew out on one side of the bed. No bedding refreshed, full trash, no coffee refills, toilet not clean and showers dirty. We went downstairs to report it on our way out to dinner and Chelsea (who's awesome) ensured everything was done but they still forgot to empty one of the trash cans and put a new comforter on our bed -so the room was freezing -I have GERD so I can't sleep in a hot room but freezing wasn't an option either, Had to look for the housekeeper today (Sunday)-5th day just to get more towels and coffee. We placed the left over trash in the bin outside of our room. The housekeeper told me she would be down to clean or refresh the room but never showed up. Hours later-As we left to spend our last day of our trip here with family, we mentioned our situation this morning because the housekeeper never came by. We told Joe and the front desk person about her not showing up and our needing comforter and a minor refresh. We also elaborated on our experience since checking in. They told us they would take care of it and the lady at the front desk radioed the housekeeping. We left. When we returned around 8:00 pm, nothing done. No comforter. The usual. On our way to the bar, we mentioned it to Joe and the non-communicative person working the front desk. No resolve. To pay almost $1000 for the time here and to get the housekeeping service received, totally unsatisfactory. I'm hoping that this was just an "off" time or their housekeeping staff and other personnel should be replaced. Not sure if we will come back here again after this, The view doesn't mean that much to compromise quality! read more

This review is a caution when staying at this Hotel: My wife stayed at this hotel last week. She got terrible service. Now, they have sent a bill that's over $250 for damages they alleged she did to the room. They said that she took a king size bed apart in the room. She's over 70 years old. She cannot move a king size bed mattress. The person who moved the bed was a man from housekeeping. He was trying to fix the phone because the phone didn't work during the whole stay while she was there. The maintenance fellow wasn't there, because he was on vacation, so housekeeping tried, but failed, to take care of it. Based on her experience, this has been one of the most poorly run hotels we stayed at. Plus, the management appeared to be scamming my wife by not providing service and making false accusations. Update: General Manager, Greg Greenwald, called my wife today to falsely accuse her of using a crow bar to pry the headboard off the wall before she checkout at 7:00am. He said that my wife left the crowbar there and the staff took pictures of the crow bar and headboard. He said the $250 is what they charge when someone fouls the room. This is a shakedown for money, or retribution in the worst way for my wife's one star review on Google. He said his staff found the headboard with crowbar the day she checked out. First we don't have a crowbar, second the service during my wife's three-night stay was poor, third my wife simply did not damage anything in that room. Whoever vandalized the bed and set up the scene wanted to hurt my wife. This is an extreme way to exact retribution. Beware of the Crown Plaza North Augusta Hotel. Based on my wife's experience there appears to be something sinister going on. Update March 25: General Manager, Greg Greenwald, phoned to apologize to my wife. The incident and damage was all the fault of his incompetent hotel staff and him accepting such an absurd accusation from them. The $250 charge should be refunded. read more

The hotel is marketed as having "upscale accommodations and elevated experiences" but it is far from that. The nicest thing you will enjoy here is the view from the rooftop and the style of the lobby. The complementary coffee is watered down, the bathroom floor and floor showers in the actual rooms are filthy. The tilt wand in my room(317) was actually attached by a tie wrap and severely bent making it difficult to open the curtains. Also, there were straight strands of hair everywhere. I currently have braids. Additionally it was to my knowledge that we would receive housekeeping every three days. However, they entered our room everyday to replace the towels and one day(still not the third day), they turned back the bed, only because nothing was on it, missing a sock under the sheet and didn't even bother to fix the flat sheet under the blanket with crumbs left on the bed and in between the sheets from my toddlers doing. Coming in the room daily, without my knowledge really violates security and privacy. The entire time I was there, I never heard a vacuum or seen one and noticed in my room, as well as other family members, the floor was filthy as well as the couch with stains. To make matters worst their bar opens at 5 pm or whenever they feel like it as if their only priority is to accommodate the stadium crowd across the street and not their actual guests throughout the day. Furthermore, finding someone who can make a well crafted drink is out of the picture. They charge literally whatever they want and as a bartender I can tell no one is a bartender. I literally watched Amelia pour liqueur before the actual liquor in attempt to make a mai tai and then put mint in the Mai tai, which is actually crazy. Also after every drink she would repeat "you wanna start a tab" which delivers a dive bar experience, instead of asking if we'd like to put it to the room or waiting until we finished. If this part was actually "elevated" with real bartenders and mixologists, the experience could have been two stars. Additionally my family opted for a ballroom with catering and a cash bar. I have never been to any event like such that charged $13 for a glass of wine and seated at a set table with no table cloth. That's literally like wearing sneakers with no socks. With that said their number one priority isn't to deliver a great customer experience but to Price Gouge. To make matters worse, my mother enjoyed breakfast at Salt +Marrow and paid with her card and when I received the checkout bill it was still added to her room with the tip she wrote on the receipt included in the price. Good thing she keeps her receipts. Also, the front desk seriously lack area knowledge and hotel knowledge. For example, we stayed 4 nights and was told we have to pay for parking, which is $12/day. Everyday we came to our car, the garage gate was up. Then I had a family member who never parked in the garage but was still charged daily by the hotel for parking on the street. The street isn't owned by the hotel but the city. Again, PRICE GOUGING!. I will never return and am going to call and ask for a refund for the holiday inn club vacation package I ordered that has nothing to do with this hotel. If the IHG brand is like this, I don't even want to try any other location. read more

Room was clean - but not sparkling like most Crowne Plaza locations. Mirrors were dirty and bathroom floor needed a deep cleaning along with the shower floor! Didn't receive maid service day one or two - had to call and ask for service on day three - two staff members came up to our room and changed sheets and left us wash clothes and towels but didn't give us a bath mat or hand towels and they didn't empty any of the trash!!!! Kinda defeats the purpose of "refreshing" the room when the trash isn't emptied..... Front desk staff didn't give us complimentary waters upon check in - that's always the norm with all other locations...... Don't think we will stay here again - too many hiccups during the entire stay.... read more

A fine stay. First night, my sink drain was very slow so I told receptionist as I was leaving for the day & it was running perfectly when I returned. This stay very quiet - didn't hear a peep overnight. Shower worked well with good drain. Self parking in garage across the street - use your card key to work the gate arm. Augusta baseball stadium is next door & area feels pretty safe (within reason) with upscale restaurants & neighborhoods nearby. read more

What you need to understand is the bartenders are amazing, very attentive, quick and you will love your cocktails!!! My bartender was Brittany and she makes amazing drinks, she's quick witted, funny and very professional! Quanta, Lindsey, and Adrian all kept the customers happy and coming back for more!!! If you're ever in the North Augusta area, especially for a Green-jackets game stop by the Crowne Plaza and see Brittany and her co-workers and you will not be disappointed, but if you are charge it to room 546...feel sorry for those people! My experience with Crowne Plaza Hotel in Augusta North, South Carolina was not a good experience. This is supposed to be a top-tier hotel and they charged me $813 for three nights stay. I had never stayed at a Crown Plaza Hotel. I checked in around 3 o'clock for the three-night stay They assigned me a very nice room on the fourth floor. They gave me a sheet of paper that explained they did not clean the rooms daily. They said that they merely "refresh" them with new towels and removed trash. I expected more from such a prestigious hotel. As I went into my room, I noticed a very strong fragrance. I thought it just might've been from a recent cleaning so I opened my door to air it out. After about an hour I was getting a headache and called down to the front desk and asked them to move me. They said they couldn't move me because the hotel was full that evening. It was only about 4 o'clock in the afternoon. They offered to send up housekeeping to spray something else to neutralize the scent. Housekeeping agreed that the room had strong scent. He offered to spray something else in the room, but I declined. He suggested I called down to move my room, but I said they told me I could not. About 10 minutes later he came back up and said "I managed to have you change you to another room." I appreciated his help. A few hours later I flushed the toilet in my new bathroom and it started continually running. I went to the phone to call downstairs and found out the telephone in my new room did not work. I went downstairs to tell the front desk that I needed someone to stop the toilet from running and that my phone did not work. They sent up housekeeping again, not maintenance. He stopped the toilet from running and even tried to fix the telephone by exchanging it with another, but could not fix the problem. I said it was OK to send someone up tomorrow to fix it. The next day when I got back to my room after being gone for about nine hours, I checked on my phone and it had not changed, it still did not work. I went downstairs again and asked them if they could fix my telephone in the room they said they could send someone up right then, or they could do it the next day. Since I was tired, I asked to please send somebody up tomorrow to fix it while I'm gone. My room had been refreshed with only towels and trash removed, but didn't make the bed. The next day I left The hotel at 7 AM and returned about 4:30 pm. The first thing I noticed was my room had not been refreshed at all, in fact it hadn't been touched by anyone. And, again, the phone didn't work. My room was a mess. I had to go downstairs to the front desk and ask them, again, to fix my phone and to do at least the minimal refresh since I had no clean towels. The front desk sent maintenance up with a new phone to plug in, but it still didn't work. I told him that I reported it two days ago, but he said he just got back from vacation. He was apologetic, but didn't fix the phone. He said he could have somebody here tomorrow. That was too late since I was checking out the next day. About 10 minutes later, a housekeeper came by to bring me towels, take the trash and, for the first time in two days, she even made the bed. However, the room had two days of use and could've used a good vacuuming by now. I knew it was no use to complain to the staff about anything. As I checked out, they asked me to leave a review. Well, this is it. UPDATE. I wrote the above review yesterday and this morning found a $250 charge for damage to the room. I called the hotel and the front desk told me I had damaged a king size bed. The bed had been moved on the first day of my stay by Anthony in the housekeeping department. He was trying to fix the phone at the wall jack which was behind the bed. Anthony and another man moved the bed at that point. They put it back together and that was that for the evening. There's no way I could move a king size bed as I am over 70 years old. I am appalled that this hotel with this poor service could come back after I checked out and charge me $250. One person in the room three days and I paid that completely asking for no accommodation for my inconveniences. read more

This hotel is wonderful if you're in North Augusta. The location is great with several restaurants walking distance but also not right in the middle of downtown which I enjoy for avoiding traffic etc. it's is close to though. The hotel has been newly renovated with a spacious lobby, several conference centers and restaurants/bar on site. The staff was very welcoming, friendly and informative. The room had very comfortable beds and a large, rotating tv. There is a parking deck across the street for $9 a day. I absolutely loved my stay here. I felt very comfortable, safe & welcomed. The rooftop bar and the inside bar are really nice . The only downside with these type of hotels are no microwaves in the rooms . Beds were super comfy and I love the TV that rotates . Beautful hotel in a very beautiful area. The hotel staff are extremely kind, accommodating, and helpful. I feel bad that I didn't get the names of the girls this morning who took time out of cleaning up (breakfast service was over) and got me a large cup of coffee. Nathaniel, the front desk supervisor, was very nice and accommodating, he took time out of his busy schedule to take me on a tour of the hotel. There's a baseball stadium, restaurants, and cute little shop across the street. If you like to run or exercise there's a beautiful park and trail in walking distance from the hotel. Well appointed 3 year old hotel right next to the minor league baseball park. Ample parking in the parking garage across the street and a petite yet nice outdoor pool. Expansive lobby with ample work space and private meeting rooms along with larger ballrooms for bigger events. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. On site restaurant, Salt + Marrrow open for breakfast at 7am. All in all a nice place on the Savannah river and nicely done. I would stay again and you should consider this option when in Augusta. read more

This stay was my first time at the roof top bar, nice place, nice view but bartender Tyler seem to be having a bad day or at least a bad attitude. Never been to a place to eat and asked for payment up front for food. ,told him I would pay after I eat and had a little smirk going on.... While I am familiar and have stayed at various Crowne Plaza's around the country, this is the first visit I've had to the Augusta location. Location is good, right next-door to the SRP park, and surrounded by residential condos. As well as restaurants. Upon arriving I was told my room was not available, so I parked my motorcycle in the garage, (which BTW you have to pay for!) and then brought my luggage into the lobby. Where I asked for them to store while the room was being readied. I then went to Rio Cantina across the street and had lunch. Upon returning I found the lobby full of other guest (about 10-12 people) trying also to check in, as the hotels computer system was acting up and they were having to reboot the system. It had to be taken down again right after I checked in also. Apparently this happened multiple times. Gotta love technology! Upon entering my room, I found it very well appointed as well as very neat. After resting for a few hours, I went down to the lobby bar ordered a whiskey sour, with egg white. Which apparently the bartender had no idea what that was about. (If you have been a drinker for very long, or a bar owner like me, you know that whiskey sour made with egg white was the original way that whiskey sours were made). Suffice to say the poor concoction she made was undrinkable! Thus I refused the drink and just ordered Whiskey straight up. Her bar was a mess! Absolutely mess. Even her pouring methods were hideous. I paid my tab and left. While I appreciate a hotel having a bar and restaurant in its establishment, it should take great effort to make sure the bar delivers quality. This one however doesn't. Great location next to the ball park and on the river. Great roof top bar, perfect for a drink at Sun Down. Donald drives a very nice, clean Sprinter van to local attractions and restaurants. He took us to Noble Jones near downtown for dinner. He was very courteous and timely. When we finished our meal he picked us up and returned us safely to the hotel. This service was the highlight of our stay. The front desk staff is friendly and tries. The facilities, location, Donald and the van services are five stars. There was miscommunication by the front desk that breakfast was included, turned out no but the manger did a great job of making it right, hats off. Restaurant and bar service was 3 stars, their motivation level to provide friendly, welcoming service was not there. Was expecting Southern hospitality at such a well appointed location. The restaurant and bars have such great potential when they get the preparation and service down. The training , motivation and communication of the staff is still rebounding from COVID. Believe they will get there, look forward to staying again. Worth a try. read more

The Bad: I am not sure who designed the room and furnishings, but they never stayed at a hotel before. The auto light in the bathroom has to go. All the lights on, when your partner walks or reaches in, is not conducive to sleep and is uncomfortable at night in general, and the night light is too bright. We had to shut the bathroom door to sleep and a late night trip to the loo meant a light ray wake up for everyone. A smoke alarm?? was blinking over my head all night and woke me up. The pillows were too full for sleeping on. The bed side tables were twice the size of the clock radio leaving no room for an iPad, phone and drink. The standard dresser with drawers was gone, replaced with two drawers in the closet and no surface to put things on. The shower was the same- no room for shampoo, razor and such. No microwave- unusual for a current hotel. The hall rug reminded me of traffic bumps and was hideous. Our room was not ready at 3:00 check in so we waited about 30 minutes. They gave us free drink tickets, which we did not use. They took our luggage back into another room and did bring it to our room when it was ready. The river view was really a view of all the other rooms and a terrace full of people, a rooftop and a parking lot with a glimpse of the river two blocks beyond, so we closed the drapes. The sofa was rock hard. The Good: The staff was very nice and helpful. The TV was big, nice and rotated. I could hook my Roku to it easily. HBO, SHO and Cinemax. The thick pillows were great for watching tv. The mattress was firm and comfy for me, but hubby said it was too hard for him. read more

This is my second stay in one month. This hotel is beautiful and the staff is excellent. I even had the same dinner (Tomahawk Chop) in their restaurant (Salt & Marrow) because it is incredible! The rooftop bar (Jackson's Bluff) poured great drinks too. read more

Took my out of town visitors to have drinks at the rooftop bar. We were very disappointed. They were not at all prepared for our party of six and we were the only ones there! The view will hopefully get better as the construction is completed but not so great right now. They said they would be open at four but at 4:20 they were still not ready. Staff was extremely unprofessional. I had to notify the police and create an incident report on them. Male staff stopped and stared at me and my sister in our swimsuits. Fast forward to later that night I get a knock at the hotel door at 11 o clock at night while I'm sleeping. Everytime I asked who is it no one answered, they just kept knocking so I go to the door and look through the peep hole and it's the male staff (in uniform) burgundy shirt, black pants, holding his middle finger up to the peep hole. He was holding it to where you couldn't see his face only his outfit. So I immediately packed my things. It made us feel uncomfortable to sleep there because we don't know if they have access to keys to our room. They obviously have access to find out what room we were in to come and knock. The hotel company already has a bad name. Ppl mysteriously go missing from their hotels in other locations. If you are going to book here, be very very observant and careful. It's also unsettling how me and my guest checked out as soon as the incident happened and called the police to make a report about it and still got charged for staying there. Not only did I get charged once I got charged twice ! Didn't even stay the night there and $500.00 was taken off my card from them the next morning. Everything else about this hotel was mediocre. The room, the pool, the restaurant. They need to fix their attitudes, ALL OF THE STAFF RUBBED ME THE WRONG WAY EVEN THE General manager/supervisor. I went to try the new restaurant out as i live on the neighborhood I was surprised thst you coukd not ordet dinner at the bar For someone that is single or is on town on buisness normally do not want to sit by them self in a restaurant I ask to see the dinner menu twice She stated they only serve bar food i said fine but i would like to see the menu i might come back with other guest in the future i never saw the menu There were 2 bartenders working and 10 people at the bar A young blonde lady and a gentleman I ask what chardonnay they had by the glass She said Kendall Jackson that is it I said can i ask to see the wine list i then ask if i could take a bottle home if i ordered a bottle It took for ever to get an anwser she then came back with a bag and thought i was taking it home right there and then i said I would like to have a glass here and something ti eat She came around from the bar ooenef it and pourrd a glass She did not adk me ti taste it I then tried to order something to eat 4 times trying to get her attention she showed me the menu but never came back to adk me if i wanted to order I ordered the spinach dip and ask for ice water It took 45 min anf the only reason i got it i went to the restroom and saw the other bartender and daid please check on my food and i need ice water as well She finslly brought the spinach dip that wad luke warm from sitting under the heat lamp in the back I had to again ask for a 3rd time fir ice water she brought me a small rocks glasss with ice water the 2 bartenders do not work together at all I know the place just opened but the service is very bad this was on a Wednesday night i can not imagine what it is like on the weekend On. Pros: Nice outside, lobby area and roof top. Cons: Upon checking into the hotel, I was assigned a room that was occupied/unmade beds. I called downstairs and it took over 5 minutes for someone to bring new keys. Once in the new room the towels and wash cloths were damp, the piece that allows you to open and close the blinds was broken and lying against the wall. There was no k-cups coffee or cups in the Keurig holder, and it took them over 2 hours to bring to the room. This hotel is situated beside a baseball field that apparently host games almost every night from what I was later told. When returning to the hotel it took over an hour because streets were blocked and while utilizing Waze there were no alternate routes provided to avoid the closures. Finally, I saw a police officer and he provided instructions to the hotel through a community. This is something the hotel should inform the guest of and provide instructions/directions. I left two voice messages for the General Manager and now it's 6 days later and no return call. I will not patronize this property again. read more

Great place for business stay. Travel to Augusta a lot and this new hotel much better than the convention center Marriott. Comfortable bed and pillow. Solid food and bar selections. New minor league ballpark across the street. read more
