I took 2 watches in for new batteries and asked to clean up one of them since it looked a bit dull. He said $60, which is expensive (I can get batteries changed for $12 each in Burbank) but out of convenience I said ok. He said 30-minutes. I left and when I came back he said he forgot the charge to clean the one watch so it's $100. I refused and he quickly said $60 is okay. The watch he cleaned has the gold worn off since he ran it through the machine even though he said he wouldn't and would just use liquid and buff with a cloth. NEVER AGAIN. He tried to scam me out of 40 more dollars just to see if I would. Horrible service. read more

I brought three watches in for service, but one is a solar watch and he said that watch needed a new battery and capacitor, and the other watches just needed batteries. he gave a price of 160.00 to fix all three watches. he was able to put a battery in the two other watches and I paid 50.00 which meant I owed him 110.00 but after a couple of days went by, I got a call from him saying the solar watch was ready. I went into pick the watch up and he said you owe me 160.00. I guess he was doing the new math. I say stay away otherwise he will use that new math on you. read more

Ralph is definitely master and commander of his repair & retail shop. May need to rub his ego a bit as it is quite front & center, I.e. "I'm the very best repair watch & clock guy anywhere!" That being said, we've always been happy with Ralph's work and when it wasn't done to completion, he's been receptive to do whatever it takes without additional charges. He's pretty booked up so be aware that clocks especially can take up to 2-3 months. read more

This man is a thief, stay away. Went for a free estimate and he quoted me 250$ and I figured it was high so I took my watch and left. I went to another watch guy in Hollywood that I know for another estimate and he told me that they there is a part missing inside my watch. I'm sure it was this place that took it since if he wasn't the one....he would've mention that there is a part missing inside my automatic watch. Absolute worst. I got ripped off here and when I brought back the watch sold to me because it broke, the man was so rude. I needed the watch so I asked if he could fix it. I should have asked how much it would cost but did not think he would charge me $40 for something he did in under 10 minutes. $20 to fix it and $20 for a new battery. When I objected to the price, he told me he could just take apart the watch and give it back to me. Don't buy watches here. The sales guy misrepresents them and their histories. He told me something about the used watch I bought that I later learned was not true AND the watch was a fake! Look up the watches on Amazon/online for comparison. I know it's important to support small businesses, but I truly felt ripped off here. I went here because I was desperate before leaving for a trip. Don't make the same mistake as me. The owner of this store sold me a watch made by Soki. You other haven't heard of it, but when you look at the logo, you can see that they're trying to rip off Luminox. The owner said, "oh, you should get any watch as long as it isn't made in China." Yet this Soki was exactly that, I found out after buying. The watch was super cheap, didn't keep time well and the band started coming apart with a couple weeks of average use. I showered with the watch, because it claimed to be water resistant and it stopped. The owner for the watch running again but it stopped again soon afterward. The price of this watch was outrageous. You can get Soki watches on the big auction website for around 5-20 dollars. Tic Time charged $60. Three times the maximum price at other places or 12 times the minimum. I could understand 1.5x to 2x the online price, but 3x is too much. read more

STAY AWAY. He charged me $40 to replace the little black box on the back of a wall clock. It worked for a day or so and then stopped. This is not the first time I have had issues with poor work - shame on me for going back. Don't make the same mistake. Rip off - just as the other reviewers say. Try Time Essentials on Colorado and San Gabriel - just down the street. Super nice guy who fixed my clock in under 5 minutes and charged me $6!!! Ralph is a consummate professional. He replaced a battery and removed 2 other batteries in watches I'm not using right now all in about 10 minutes. He said I got good life out of the last battery and I said how'd you know that and he said he marked the old battery. That's just how he is meticulous. I rarely complain about service, I just don't go back, but this is an exception. I brought a Breitling (circa 1950) in for service. Not only did it take several months and multiple calls, but I brought it back no less than three times. It still ran fast. Not a minute or a couple minutes a day, but 10 minutes within a few hours. On the last visit he put it on a device that I now know is a timegrapher and he says 'look, it says running perfect'. I know differently now. I found you can run an app on a cell phone that functions adequately. I discovered that while its supposed to run at 18000 beats per hour, it was running at 18800. Consistently. Minor adjustments (regulation) are pretty easy to do. I attempted adjusting to the maximum retard/slow, which brought it to 18680 or so. Now I not only paid for a expen$ive complete overhaul which never happened but after months and many trips its still broken and I just gave up. (probably what he wanted). This's a watch repair next to my house, and I had 4 watches link removed for $60 several months ago, today I asked him to remove the links for my new watch without asking price, then he asked me to pay $40, finally I paid $30 for a 5 minutes work, he said because my watch was expensive... I believe expensive is normal for a certain complicated job. I'm just more concerned about his dishonesty. I know several professional watch repair places to go, and they would never ask me to pay $40 for a link removal. I will never recommend this place to anyone. read more
