Garen was very upfront, professional, and confident. He explained that he would be using laser welding, which helped minimize heat exposure to the opal, and that gave me a lot more confidence leaving the ring with him. HIGHLY recommend coming here. Garen did such an amazing job for so cheap too. I came in because of all the high ratings on Yelp. A lot of other places didn't seem like they did a good job. There are a lot of rush orders with mess ups on necklaces, so I really dived into the recent reviews. Garen's reviews were all well rated, and I wanted to see for myself. I came in a random day, I didn't call in or anything. I just wanted to get my necklaces fixed ASAP. Price for each fix was $15 and Garen is FAST. The whole visit probably took less than 15 minutes. And he did such an amazing job. My necklaces are dainty and the chains are so small, but he was able to fix it like nothing ever happened. My mother just passed and I put feelers out on Yelp to restring my mom's lapis beaded necklace and to put on a more secure clasp. Everyone else acknowledged my sorrow and condolences. There are so many jewelers out there and the only way I chose Padani is because of their impeccable service, not the bottom line like this place. 0/10 would never recommend. She said yes! I worked with Garen to custom make the engagement ring for my now fiancee. The experience was excellent. I sourced my own stone but Garen and I worked together to design a custom setting and he truly made the entire process a breeze. Even though I told him to take his time, his turnaround time is less than a month. Before the ring goes into production, Garen is very patient on taking input and altering the design till we were satisfied. Platinum is notoriously difficult to shape and build with but, Garen has not only the tooling, but the expertise and decades of experience -extremely important! He gave the impression that he did not want to help me, probably made assumptions or whatnot, can't exactly explain it. Crap service and a missed out opportunity for a lifelong customer. When he was done with the customer we went in and i gave him my pieces to repair and told me it would take 20 mins to repair all of my pieces but definitely felt like it took less time than that but did amazing work on my repairs and very reasonably priced plus very local to me which is nice. 【Background】 Wednesday, January 22, 2025, 1:27 PM One of the links on my 23k solid gold Franco chain recently broke. (Probably because I wear my chain 24/7, so I think a link snapped when I was sleeping). Using Yelp, I requested a quote from multiple jewelry repair stores nearby. Some owners responded saying they only use 14k or 18k gold soldering, and the estimated expenses ranged from $15 to $150. It was essential to me that my chain was fixed using at least the same karat gold; Garen from Dorano Jewelry replied saying it would be no problem and estimated the repair time to be 10 minutes to 2 hours depending on the store's busyness and the cost to be $25. Because of these advantages, I chose this location. 【Service】 I arrived at the store in the afternoon. Luckily, there were no other customers inside, so I was helped immediately. After being buzzed in through the locked gate, I sat down at his desk and explained my situation. He said he would try a laser welding repair technique first, which would connect the two ends of the broken link together, so there was no need to worry about replacement material. After about 10 minutes, he came back out and said the gap was too big, and the ends couldn't connect. As an alternate strategy, he would have to use extra material but didn't have any 23k wire. After looking around in the back, he found a piece of 24k gold jewelry that could be used instead. I asked him how much it would cost, and he said he would still honor the $25 estimate, which was very nice of him. After another 10 minutes, he finished the repair and handed the chain back to me for inspection. I could see a slight color differential between the repair site from the original chain, probably because they have different purities, so I guess I can't expect a perfectly seamless repair. Also, I wasn't too concerned since the break was located near the clasp, so the repair site won't be super visible while I wear the chain. Overall, the service was quick and affordable, and I'm glad Garen repairs with higher purity material. However, I would've liked more detailed explanations about what he was doing. Also, it was a bit tedious having to go back and forth between sitting at his desk and waiting in the seating area outside the locked gate while he worked in the back, but I can't fault him for being cautious. At least I got to pick out some candies from a small dish after everything was done. I'll definitely come back if I need to fix my chain again in the future. 【Parking】 There is street parking in front of the store. Additionally, there are small private parking lots in the back for all the businesses. Be warned that these lots are extremely tight, so I had to reverse out all the way to the road since I couldn't turn my car around. read more
