TIck Tock - Northland Mall - Calgary. The fellow that owns this place is beyond rude - he can be downright threatening and verbally abusive. I took a watch in a year ago and he appeared quite knowledgeable and said he would clean the mechanism as despite a new battery - it was not running. I phoned a few times and was told a part needed ordering. I finally went in on Sunday, July 5, 2020 and he demanded my ticket. At the time I gave it him to examine - in 2019 - all he did was write my name and number down upon a piece of notepaper two inches square. I said that I had no ticket and described the watch. He said "do you know how many watches I have at home?" and said that in order to identify it I would have to accompany him home to look - as if that were possible - he was shouting all of this at me as though I was an employee of his or an errant schoolboy. I said was not there for an argument - I just wanted my watch returned. I was pleasant to him - assuming he was simply a curmudgeon - a grumpy watchmaker. I have encountered this sort of individual in Europe. Sometimes they are quite talented. As I wanted my watch returned - I kept my voice level and solution focused. I had money - surely he wished to be compensated for his time - could we exchange the watch for cash without all of this "seinfeld-esque" insistence on a ticket! He was the watch Nazi! "No watch for you!" I left then returned - as I am tired of this type of service - being the charming customer in the face of an unpleasant and offensive shopkeeper. "Enough!" I thought to mysel - this time I will confront the rude watch Nazi. So I walked back in and from the back of the shop I could hear a clock chiming. A dark looking Troll emerged with spectacles on - scowling at me. His Middle Eastern visage hard and confrontational. I told him he had no right to speak to a polite customer in such an abusive manner, how dare he! He screamed at me to back off - shouting "Covid! Covid! Are you crazy?" He was ten feet away behind a counter at the very least. I told him I had no tolerance for this nonsense - I knew his game - the pandemic was not the issue. It was a matter of returning a watch within a reasonable period - or at least calling back. He had had it a year - I was not in the wrong - this was his job. If he was not personable - hire someone who was to do the callbacks and deal with customers. He came well recommended and I had heard he was a good guy. This was not good at all - shouting and screaming like a madman over a simple watch repair. He then grabbed his cordless phone and said he was calling security and that I was the one who was out of line. Horrific customer service experience over a mere $57. Was not impressed by store manager belittling my intelligence and questioning my maturity. When he asked if I understood English, I raised my voice and he promptly called security. I had been in the store five times in the past 6 days and he would not provide me with a refund for the glasses he could not repair (they kept breaking). This last visit escalated when he stated he would no longer try and repair them and would only provide a refund if I had the receipt. I did not have the receipt at that time and asked for an exception to provide the refund. That was when his customer handling skills went out the window. I will never go back there and would never recommend anyone visit this location in the future. The store ownership should seriously consider keeping this individual employed as his customer interaction skills are so poor and his craftsmanship is so obviously inept. Stay far away from this business. I will 'take the time' to go elsewhere. read more

He is the worst merchant I ever dealt with and I am a 45 year old man, so I really know what I am talking about. Rude is a very small word to describe him. I wish there was a zero rating here or even below zero. Very arrogant and ignorant, he cant talk without shouting and being nasty and guess what , he broke the watch and accused me of brining it damaged already to get it fixed for free !.. I always go to Mansour to fix my antique clock made in 1900, he does my watches both expensive ones and cheap China knock offs. Love this guy but have known him since he was in Market Mall which is more than 10 years ago. read more
