Following up: I want to commend OneLife Tenleytown management for making substantial progress…read moretowards addressing many requests/complaints from the Crunch members (including me) who joined last month at the close of the Crunch Friendship Heights gym. Management reached out to me personally after my review and took time to we meet and discuss the issues noted. That week OneLife had already announced & added several classes requested by Crunch alumni, retrofitting them into time-slots that helped reduce overcrowding in the original schedule. The two weeks following, even more classes were added. OneLife also brought over some of the former Crunch instructors which helped several of us with the transition. Fair to say that we're still adapting and hoping that there's more to come, but I wanted to make a call out to the management for coming through on these additions!

Within the first week, I asked to cancel because her doctor instructed her not to use machines and only do aquatic therapy. I also told Brittany, the General Manager, that I travel often and could not attend consistently. She reassured me that I could cancel at any time with no extra fee and convinced me to stay. Unfortunately, the problems only got worse. I had repeated issues accessing the gym, my membership number was changed without explanation, and my account was incorrectly charged three times in October, including an unexplained charge of $84.80 that no one has been able to clarify. Yet staff repeatedly insist on talking about penalties, deadlines, and additional fees, but show no interest in explaining unauthorized charges. Service inside the gym was also poor: very few machines for the number of people, many members sitting on equipment on their phones, no staff intervention, frequent lack of towels, and overall weak customer service. Despite trying to cancel from the first week--and only staying because of Brittany's promises--I am now being threatened with penalty fees of $278.97 and $111.27, plus another month of charges if I don't pay by December 29. I strongly recommend that anyone considering a membership here review everything carefully. The staff seems far more interested in signing people up than in providing proper service afterward.

I also was coached by Keanne Henry, who is a fellow OnPoint instructor, and she is a fantastic coach with a slightly different coaching style from Lloyd. Love them both.

Ok: the functional fitness area is a lot smaller than expected. It felt like the emphasis was on group fitness. The recovery options were limited to theraguns, sauna foam rollers when I visited. Disappointing: for the monthly fee, I'd expect a pool. I don't think any of the Equinox locations in the DMV are particularly stellar in comparison to other cities.

I've heard the NY ones are even better, so I'm excited to check them out the next time I visit New York! The Wisconsin one is the best one in the DMV area, in my opinion. It is brand new (about 6 months old) and offers free 2 hour validated garage parking. The DMV membership gym gives you access to multiple equinox gym, including the ones I go to: Tyson's corner (free all day parking), Wisconsin Ave (2 hour free parking), and Bethesda (paid parking). Benefits of Wisconsin Ave: - Brand New - Next to Wegmans (can grab a snack) and King Street Oyster (happy hour) - Free 2 hour parking - Large range of classes and timeframes - Great bench spot for people who WFH - Steam Room Downsides: - No pool - More limited personal trainers tiers (they're still hiring) - Only 2 hour parking (about one class + a shower could fit in this timeframe). - Traffic into DC can take awhile Why I decided to join Equinox in general: - Fantastic bathrooms - cleaned 3x/day with Kiehls products (some of the best skincare/hair stuff) - Provides measurements and fat-muscle ratios - Has Eucalyptus infused towels - Luxury aesthetic and feeling - Overall lifestyle Equinox is truly a lifestyle, not just a gym. You're surrounded by likeminded people!

My favorite longtime gym in DC! I've been a member for several years and this year hit my 400…read moreclasses milestone -- figured now was a good time to finally leave a review. Fit360 is a great model of a community gym -- the staff is friendly, the owner is a local, and fellow gym goers are courteous. I am someone who benefits from classes to help me push myself and I especially love their lift classes, which are typically small (under 10 people) and mixed gender, with varying levels for each station based on your fitness and expertise. Jonathan and Nino both do a great job as instructors helping with form and technique. This year I also added in some personal training with Kwame and it has been fantastic so far. So glad this gym is part of my community.

I'm actually paying for a separate Nutritionist who I visit about every month. I started here about two months ago, and I've been much more committed this time around. It's even more motivational that the gym.is located literally across the street from my apartment. It's a decent gym and they have almost everything that I need, minus the abs machine. I do have the Gold membership and I think that it's a good fit for me since I rarely have ever participated in any type of gym class. They do offered the classes here, and I've seen a number of people leaving from a class. I appreciate that the gym is available for whenever I need it, and even more importantly that they're located so close to me.

I really like the instructors who…read moreprovide hands-on corrections unless you prefer not to receive them, who will challenge you and motivate you. I've been complementing my gym workouts with solidcore and has been great for core strengthening but there are daily muscle focuses that are tough too. Membership isn't cheap but I've found having a not-so-committed membership (4x per month) in addition to classpass (for flexibility of either doing solidcore or something else) is a good pace for me. Edit: after reading some reviews, I wanted to say in the classes I've been to, there have been heightened attention from instructors to ensure people have correct form. If you don't, you may get injured. That's with any sport or workout. Also, if you're new, look around to see if you're doing it wrong. Hell, 50+ classes in and I still look around sometimes. Lastly, nearly all the exercises are slow movements. Unless the instructor explicitly says to go fast on army crawls or up downs, you aren't trying to break the record for most reps. Some classes, I've seen people breeze through. First, you're likely not getting a workout and second, you're increasing risk of injury.

I've been coming to Solidcore consistently for the past 7 months, and it's hands down the most…read moreeffective workout I've ever done. I've always been active and played sports growing up, but I struggled to find something that kept me motivated as an adult. Solidcore changed that. With no major lifestyle changes (I work a desk job, eat decently, commute mostly on foot/via transit and still drink most weeks), I've seen a huge transformation in my body. I am probably the most fit I have ever been. The coaches are great - Sam is the best, but you can't go wrong taking a class with Alethea, Sofia or Mary Kate. The vibe is always supportive but challenging, and I actually look forward to going. I also really appreciate how receptive the team is to feedback. On the rare occasion something's come up, they've been quick to address it and super responsive. No substantive complaints about the studio itself - especially considering it's one of Solidcore's lower membership tier locations. It's technically in NW DC, but it's billed at the Maryland tier, which makes it a way better deal than the other DC studios with more expensive memberships. The only thing I'll note is that this location doesn't have a live phone line, which can make it tough to get ahold of someone quickly if something comes up. Not enough to deduct a star, but I do wish they'd fix that. If I had one suggestion for the company overall, it would be to remove cancellation fees and shorten the cancellation window. Life happens, and a little more flexibility would go a long way for members. In short; If you're looking for a fun workout that will push you and actually deliver results, this is it. I even brought my 55+ year-old dad to a class and he loved it. Highly recommend.

I especially enjoy the cleanliness of the showers and restroom areas. The heart monitor is another great addition to the gym, it gives me a clear idea on if I should increase or decrease my exercise intensity. The app is also very good. It makes keeping track of stats and workouts easy, and syncs my the Apple Watch. The staff and studio manager here are all friendly, informative, and helpful. Every staff member at the Orangetheory Tenleytown are excellent but Arbyana stands out to me the most. Her attention to the customers and vibrant energy really makes the difference between this and any other Orange Theory. Her positivity is definitely a reason why myself and probably many other members keep coming back to this location to workout and feel good about our exercise progress. I attend most classes with Coach Julie. She is a former Olympian, great motivator, and wonderful at showing examples of the workouts. I like attending Coach Aitana's classes as well. She is a great motivator and cares about members doing the workout correctly. She puts in extra effort during themed workout classes and her costumes make the class fun and enjoyable. The new coaches Oscar, Jonathan, and Mia were great additions to the gym this year too. They followed Julie and Aitana's workout methods in making the members of the gym feel like they're not left out of the workout. The workout community at this location are also very inviting and open. I can see myself continuing to enjoy coming to this gym for years to come.
