These people are completly unproffesional. They scheduled me to be induced at 7 am, so I get over there at 7 am and they turn me away and say they are to busy so they say come back at 11. I again drive out at 11 they still dont have a bed available so they say come back at 3 we will fit you in tbh I shouldnt have to be "fit in" I was scheduled for this im 39 going on 40 weeks pregnant I can barely waddle in and out of this hospital. 08.23.25 Tidal Health isn't a place anyone wants to go unless they have to, but during a visit out of town for my mom's birthday, I ended up there after a sudden attack of extreme stomach pain. It felt like I was being stabbed, and it only got worse as we were out at dinner. By the time I arrived at the ER, I was doubled over, screaming in pain. The waiting room had a handful of people with minor complaints--sniffles, scratches--yet I was in obvious, excruciating distress. A nurse quickly came out took me in the back, drew blood, and tried to find me a bed, but explained the hospital was full. I was sent back to the waiting area, still screaming in pain, in front of my wife and mother who had never seen me like that. Honestly, I think hospitals should have a better system to separate true emergencies from non-urgent cases. Many people misuse the ER to skip the wait or even just for food and shelter, which slows down care for patients in real need. Eventually, after tests, a doctor confirmed I had a kidney stone and was going to be admitted. Another urologist came in right away, explained my options, and helped manage my pain. However, a frustrating moment followed: someone from registration said I was only being "monitored," not admitted, even though two doctors had already told me I was being admitted. That difference matters for insurance coverage, and it felt more about money than patient care. Once I got to a room, things turned around. My nurse, JT/JD?, was outstanding--he made sure I stayed ahead of the pain, worked with the doctors to get the right medication combination, and truly cared about my comfort. On Sunday, I had a stent placed to help pass the stone. Afterward, the doctor gave me the choice to stay or go home. When I decided to leave, the process was unbelievably quick--my wife arrived, and within 5 minutes I was signed out and discharged. The only major disappointment was the CT scan room. It was shockingly dirty--filthy floors, debris on the machine--and honestly, if I hadn't been in such severe pain, I would have refused to be scanned there. That level of cleanliness was unacceptable and left me very concerned about infection risk. Overall, despite some serious frustrations with the ER system, admission process, and CT scan cleanliness, the doctors and nurses themselves were excellent. They provided quality care, compassion, and efficiency once they found out what was wrong and I was admitted, and now I understand why my dad always wanted to come here when dealing with his heart and cancer he felt comfortable here. read more

Everything needs to be improved. Very poor quality and care. You are just a number there. I came in by ambulance because something popped in my knee and I couldn't walk. Very painful. It took hours to get an X-ray. Nothing was broken so they decided to release me. They didn't care to do an MRI. They didn't care that I couldn't walk. The nurse promised me all kinds of help. She did not follow through and left when her shift ended. My family member had to push me in a wheelchair to the car. I thought that was a job for the staff. Unfortunately, I had to go to Tidal Health's ER for a bad foot injury. I mean it when I say that my experience at Tidal Health's ER is the best I have ever had in any ER. A sweet woman came right out to my car with a wheelchair ready. Check in was very fast. Every person I interacted with in the first 20 minutes of being in the ER was so friendly and patient with me as I hobbled around. I was only there for about an hour (maybe a bit over). Everything was fast-X rays, getting crutches, and talking to a PA about what happened. And I will reiterate that every single staff member was incredibly patient with me while also explaining everything very well. I had a good initial visit with my primary care provider and never heard from him again. I requested refills on prescriptions 3 times over one month and actually ran out of some of my medications that I needed while I was waiting. I finally got a new PCP from another health network. read more

I worked in healthcare for 30 years before moving to the eastern shore. Tidal Health's entire organization is the worst I have ever experienced. In the offices, everyone acts like their hate their jobs and have no customer service skills. It's a miracle if you can actually see a physician. The skill level of PAs is sub-par, and they have no idea what to do with a complex patient except write prescriptions. The hospital ER experience was so bad, we left after 3 1/2 hours since it was clear no one was available to actually assess the patient. They charged for a full ER visit when the only thing that happened was vital signs being taken and sent back to the waiting room which was totally empty (not a single person) when we arrived. (Yes, I understand patient acuity, but stroke-like symptoms should be at least assessed). Any further care will be in Easton or Delaware. I had heard OK things about PRMC but it seems Tidal Health has destroyed and reputation they once had. read more

I've always thought this was the best of the hospitals around me, until my daughter was admitted after getting an infection from having a kidney stone removed. After being seen in the emergency room we were moved to the urology floor where her infection only continued to get worse. Eventually due to negligence the infection spread to her heart causing an infection. She now is in heart failure thanks to this hospital, after never having a heart issue before. They are the only game in town. The only hospital. Many outpatient offices established and new opening all the time. They have bought out smaller practices. So forget about any kind of quality care. They grew too large too fast. I had a 2pm appt but didn't get seen until 330 and this is standard. You try to ask questions and uh oh, your 15 minutes are up. I was inpatient for cardiac and pulmonary issues for 4/days 4/nights. I'll die first before I EVER step foot in there again. I have a "stat" imagining tomorrow morning. After that I'm driving myself to Easton been seen at the Univ of Maryland and see if THEY can figure out what's going on since TH has neither the time or skill set to figure it out even though they've had 4 YEARS. But again, in and out in 15 mins so how can you listen to a patient, review their history, and come up with a game plan to end the pain and suffering in the time it takes Starbucks to make a latte?? I went to the TidalHealth ER around 2 am yesterday and had a fantastic experience. I was seen immediately (I was experiencing a possible heart attack) and quickly given a battery of tests, EKG, CAT, x-ray, etc. The ER nurses were uniformly friendly and helpful, and the doctor on duty was knowledgeable and forthright. Once they decided I wasn't having a heart attack they still worked hard to figure out what was going on. I left with a solid diagnosis, two prescriptions, and a basic plan to heal. Most importantly PA in the ED Laura Yales is the most disgusting and disrespectful medical professional I have ever encountered. Her attitude is flippant and arrogant. She has horrible and disrespectful demeanor. She should not be in the business of dealing with sick people as she as no bedside manor whatsoever. My husband had an outpatient heart procedure at the Heart Institute. The entire hospital seems to be understaffed. He was scheduled for the procedure at 9:45. It did not get started until 1:45. The delay was due to an emergency for another patient, which is understandable. The delay caused the procedure to go until 5:30pm. The nurses were more concerned that they close at 6pm. The entrance to the heart institute closes at 2pm due to lack of staff. I had to go through another entrance and wander through the hospital maze until I found the waiting room. Since the heart institute closed at 6 pm, he was moved to another wing to recover. The nurse introduced herself and then said she was leaving at 7pm. Two other nurses came in to ask me if he was leaving soon. I felt like unplugging him and walking out. I did not encounter one health care professional that had any compassion or appearance that they cared about the patients. read more

Completely understaffed , uncaring nurses and drs who seem to be there to get a check with no real care for the patient .
