I've been a patient of Pariser Dermatology since I moved back to the area in 2014. I've seen…read moremultiple providers but most often see Dr. Torosky or PA Lindsey Seddon. I am a frequent flyer, having been first diagnosed with melanoma in 2009 with multiple recurrences since, so I'm here at least every 3 months. This Chesapeake location is clean and easily accessible, though, like most specialty practices you may have a long wait to get an appointment. I highly recommend aiming for a first morning or first afternoon appt if you don't want to deal with providers running behind. The providers have always spent ample time with me to listen to my needs and complete necessary skin checks. I recently needed to change medications and Lindsey researched my options thoroughly, listened to my concerns and we made a plan of care together. They also employ 2 aestheticians for those interested in neuromodulators or custom laser face and body treatments. I am grateful to Pariser for their care!

After waiting 45 minutes after my appointment time, I checked with the front desk and was told they were finishing up with an earlier appointment & would be out to get me. 15 minutes later I was called back. As I sat down in the chair I was told that there was 1 more patient ahead of me & it would be another 20 - 30 minutes before they started the procedure because they were short a technician. So my 2 pm appointment for which I arrived at 1:45 and was called back at 3 pm wouldn't start until at least 3:20 pm. I left. It is ironic that while I waited a patient came in 11 minutes after her appointment time & was told she might not be seen because a she exceeded the 10 minute limit for late arrivals. The doctor did agree to see the patient but it floors me that this practice has ZERO respect for their patient's time. What could they have done differently? Well when they realized they were short a tech they could have called patients and given them an opportunity to reschedule or at least be aware that the appointment time would be late or when I checked in I could have been told there was a delay and given the opportunity to reschedule. It seems to me they should appreciate their client's time.

I had two areas of concern which he did a great job. Then I asked him to cryo two brown spots where he was overly aggressive causing damage because he was angry to have to see a patient not deemed worthy of his acuity. Pictures reflective of the treatment and outcome. I was treated for an infection. When I returned to the practice to discuss what could be done I was given a repetitive pat answer that they always do their best to meet the patients' needs or similar. This was repeated with each question and statement. If you know Lauren Cowell PA-C schedule with her. Otherwise go somewhere else.

Instead of answering my question the voice message that was left informed me to call their voicemail number again. They also will not schedule a six month follow up appointment if an annual referral will expire sometime before the appointment date. I have gone to the New Bern office for 3 years and my referral is renewed every year because of previous cancer. Patients are definitely not treated well by DACC. They are always super nice as I pay them....

The bonus is they see both children and adults. I have now been to the office twice. The location is off the corner of First Colonial and Dam Neck. The parking lot was clean and there were plenty of spaces for a mid afternoon appointment. The entrance is opposite the street. The practice is on the second floor. My child's appointment was with Dr. Kristyn Beck. She is the new kid on the block and practices with two veteran physicians. She trained at EVMS under well known and respected children's dermatologist Judith Williams who is a friend. The staff was friendly upon checking-in. The waiting room is small but adequate. I found it clean and comfortable. Forms can be completed in advance by mail or you can arrive early to fill out in the waiting room. The wait time to see Dr. Beck was reasonable at around 25 minutes after paperwork was turned in. I immediately liked her bedside manner and she hit it off with my daughter quickly. She was easy to talk to and had loads of smiles to reassure my daughter. I found her to be confident and knowledgeable during the exam. An immediate diagnosis and treatment plan was achieved in no time. A prescription was then provided. Dr. Beck is young, energetic and eager to lift her practice off the ground. Most insurance plans are accepted. I'm picky and do not often write physician reviews. This was one I had to write and happy to provide 5 stars.

I explained to the scheduler that I was 85% sure I have a carcinoma on my leg and the response was "May is the best I can do". I guess when Dr Harr retired the caring and consideration at this practice went with him. Very disappointed.

The dermatologist Dr. Dehart did not perform any meaningful examination of my scalp or skin. Despite explaining twice that my rheumatologist needed dermatology to help rule out cutaneous lupus, the doctor repeatedly insisted that "lupus should have been diagnosed through bloodwork," which is medically inaccurate. Cutaneous lupus often requires visual evaluation or biopsy, not just labs. He did not part my hair, touch my scalp, or examine the area where my previous rash had been. I offered photos of the rash, and he glanced briefly and said he "couldn't tell," without offering follow up, options for monitoring, or guidance on what to do if it reappears. In addition, when I asked about hirsutism (excess facial hair), I was told there was "nothing that can be done," and that the medication had been discontinued, both statements that conflict with standard dermatological treatment options. He also incorrectly stated that insurance does not cover electrolysis, although my insurance (Tricare East) does in certain medical circumstances. Overall, I left the appointment with no examination, no plan of care, and no acknowledgment of my rheumatologist's request. This experience felt dismissive, rushed, and uninformed about dermatologic conditions on Black skin and textured hair. I will be seeking care elsewhere.
