Let's start with the positives: almost everything. The ambiance, the attention to detail, the explanation of drinks on the menu, the energy of everyone else around, the service. I'd complain about the pricing because $13-$15 for a 1.5oz shot of Tito's is crazy imo, BUT for the elevated yet relaxed atmosphere? Fine. And I'm not ordering a shot of Tito's when literally everything we tried on their menu was FANTASTIC. The flavors were original and creative. I love the variety of glasses, and the garnishments. Negatives: our waiter brought our check before even asking if we were done. He didn't come back. I eventually had to go to the bathroom and caught up with someone else that could help me as I wanted to get a small bottle of the Banana Ramma to go home. That made up for it. Overall, loved the experience! Not a place to go often unless you have the (which, I'm jelly bc I absolutely would be here more). But a great place for a special night out. read more

4.5/5 I haven't been to Tied House before, but the ambiance hit the mark on intimate cocktail experience. Their menu of cocktails are unique to their style, making it a Tied House experience. The gin/apple/lemon/celery cocktail was a combination I wouldn't have thought to like, but it was on the more sweet/bitter end which sounds like opposite flavors, but imagine sweet then bitter-leaning. The old fashioned was definitely a lot more sweeter and masked the alcohol flavor. The flavors themselves were very in-depth; layered on one another making this a cool experience! I believe this location would be more fun for a summer evening out when you can sit outside. Also thought it closed a little on the earlier end, but it was a Thursday so it's understandable that they'd close at 10pm. Stopped by Tied House with some friends on a rainy night and got seated right away! Even though they were closing in about an hour, the staff was super friendly and welcoming, which we really appreciated. My friends ordered the So Fresa So Clean, and I went with the I Dream of Kiwi. Both drinks were super good! Mine had just the right balance of ginger and tartness, I highly recommend! Definitely planning to come back to try more of the menu. The manager is awful. We came in before a wedding for a drink and there were all of 4-6 people total in the venue and she was having a problem seating 10 of us at 2 tables. She told one table that they couldn't stand up because it was "fine dining". then she yelled at a couple coming to say hi to us also going to the wedding and asked what table they were at because their policy is one tab per table larger than 4.... everyone at the venue was going to the wedding and she was watching everyone like a hawk. I do love the ambience of the Tied House patio. It's so vibey back there and just a great overall experience. I do love how they create each of their drinks and curate them so uniquely, my only hiccup is the cost of them. We wondered upon this place serendipitously. As we walked to our wine place across the street, to our disappoint, the place was closed for renovations. To our surprise, we past this crowded bar, Tied House. Adam greeted us and invited us in. The menu was very eclectic. The names of the drinks were well thought out. I love love the exclusive feel when you walk in through the alley and then enter a little paradise oasis great music/vibe and the cocktails are awesome - I am not often a Mezcal fan but the cocktail on the menu that uses it is . Both times we have gone we walk up and get seated immediately which is always a great experience. Some feedback: -the 2x I've been there now we have been seated in the lower back area (perhaps since we weren't a reservation and walked in?). It feels a little disparate from the more trendy, larger seating space. I think it would be really cool to tie the 2 spaces together more by putting up some bamboo fencing or large Palm Leaf pots along the gate facing the sidewalk. Hey this place is pretty cool! I hadn't been here in years, since before there was new ownership and the business became Tied House. Clearly I've been missing out on a good spot. If you're looking for a place to grab cocktails, here's your place. They offer a long menu of market-fresh cocktails, with all ingredients and mixers made in-house. We grabbed a seat at the front bar and were immediately greeted by a very friendly and charismatic bartender. I feel as though he could have been the owner, as he shared with us lots of details about the bar, offered suggestions on different drinks, and just seemed overall very happy to be there. Five-star hospitality. From their craft cocktail list titled "Elements of Nature," I went with the "I Dream of Kiwi." I was a little weary because I'm not a fan of sweet drinks, but as it turns out it wasn't too sweet, but instead just right. This drink is made up of Tangueray Gin, Prosecco, kiwi and ginger. So, so fresh! My husband enjoyed the "Where There's Smoke," which was a mezcal drink. The atmosphere is cool, with colorful lighting, a stylish bar area, and most importantly a stellar back patio. The Tied House has a fantastic location down in the Third Ward and the space is incredible. The bar feels cozy and intimate without feeling cramped and somehow the staff continued to make room for new guests without feeling overwhelming. The cocktails were impeccable and the plants were also pretty awesome to check out! If you're a beet lover the "Beet of a different dram" was an incredible cocktail, very fruity while still holding all that nice beer flavor! I loved the atmosphere here! We got their last patio seating for the evening, and I dug the resort atmosphere they were going for. All of the fruit elements were created fresh in house, and it was apparent by the taste. I had the honeydew drink and the mango and thought both were refreshing and delicious. The only very minor things were our waitress was less attentive than the waitress for the area next to us, but the hostess usually took over if it looked like we needed something. Also, where we sat we got whiffs of trash when the wind blew, so I would sit farther away from that area next time. read more

I've been looking for a great place to get cocktails in Milwaukee for years. There are several good places, but I haven't found a place that rivals Timekeeper Distillery in Wausau around here (see my other reviews if you are interested in the shameless name drop). Well, I think this establishment is my new go-to for fancy cocktails in Milwaukee. Their signature cocktail, in my opinion, is the Banana Rumma. There is no physical banana in the drink, but rather banana that has been centrifuged to remove the solid portion but to retain the characteristic flavor. It was something that you truly need to drink to understand. It was very good. The atmosphere of the bar was very nice, modern and clean. I could easily spend a few hours here and it is a great place to go on a date or to take out-of-towners as a stop in the city. One thing you should note is that I had some difficulty finding the entrance. There is a gate off of Erie street that you walk through, sort of into an alleyway, to get to the entrance. You do not enter off of the street and people will probably look at you weird if you try to yank the doors off of the sidewalk open like I did. Definitely try this place out, you will be happy that you did. read more

I had the BEST cocktails I've had ever. We got the When In Oaxaca, Just Peachy, Pining for You, Banana Rumma, and the most perfect classic Old Fashioned (not the Wisconsin version). We have been waiting to go to Tied House for awhile and last night we finally got the chance! All seating is outside, so they are only open weather permitting. Yesterday was a hot 37 degrees in Wisconsin, so we took the chance to do some outdoor dining. Our table was around a fire pit, but all other tables have small fires in the middle. The patio is also filled with heaters and each individual person gets a blanket on their seat when they arrive. They only serve drinks, but they have quite a variety of fun winter beverages with great presentation. They also partner with Char'd next door for food. It's easy to scan the QR code and order on your phone. The food gets delivered right to your table. All of the drinks were great and the service was amazing! Everyone was so polite and helpful and we must've have 6 different people tell us to enjoy our night on the way out. We will definitely be back! read more

I wanted to dislike Tied House a lot, because they took away Irish Pub from me...but I can't. Their cocktails were fancy, beautiful, and tasty! I do think the interior decoration could use some elevation for wanting to be a higher end bar (basically nothing has changed - a black subway tile backsplash at the bar and a couch nook aren't enough - get some fun chandeliers and maybe even some table cloths!) That being said, the service was also very nice! I wish they hair their cocktail menu posted online because I can't remember the creative names or the exact concoctions, but we all enjoyed our drinks. I got a beet one which had an egg white foam. I wish it would have tasted more earthly like beets since that's in the name, but the predominant flavor was the overpoweringly sweet lychee. The most popular one (recommended by the waitress) was the margarita one. It was strong, but my friend enjoyed it! My other friend got one with blueberries - do NOT eat the blueberries! They are the ones they use to infuse their vodka that they don't want to waste - while pretty, they are devoid of sweetness or flavor. Trust us, just don't eat them. read more

Okay I may be dating myself when I tell you that I remember this place as the M&M. This location has always had an awesome patio and Tied House continued this tradition. Currently you don't have a choice but to sit outside because the inside is closed but you won't be disappointed because the patio is beautiful with a covered space in case of inclement weather. Next the cocktail list is pretty epic. Do yourself a favor and taste the cocktails on the first page which are their signature drinks. A group of us tried different drinks and our absolute favorite was the Banana Rumma which you think would be a blended drink but it's not. The banana infused rum is something to dream about. The staff was incredible and one of the owner's talked with us at length. They have these cute water glasses and we wanted to know where they got them and she told us the whole story. Very cool!
