During my time on post Ive had to come here numerous times, for a variety of reasons. When I need decent (and sometimes even new!) TA-50 or related items for cheap, I come here first. The staff is knowledgeable, and they greet me and ask me what I need as soon as I walk in to expedite my trip. I can't say how much money I've saved when I came here to buy what I needed on the Ranger packing list. When I got orders to PCS, I even brought some of my used uniforms AND equipment to sell back instead of throwing it away. Out of all the times I've been here I only had ONE bad experience. I tried to buy some of the FRACUs to wear out in the field, but the guy told me "I can only sell you those if you're going on deployment". So, unable to buy FRACUs (which there were plenty of) I headed home empty handed. News flash buddy, if you're stationed on Fort Benning you're probably not getting deployed anytime soon. Did he expect me to bring orders proving I was going on deployment soon? Makes zero sense, but I digress. I don't think this one bad experience reflects on Tier 1 Gear, so I don't think it deserves to effect the 5 stars I give it. read more

My BF is going to ranger school and wasn't informed of the new packing list. The lady working quickly informed him and was super pleasant to talk to. prices are incredibly well priced. They also had everything he needed. read more

10/10 these wonderful people were absolutely helpful, after getting my uniforms stolen Darby helped me get 3 new set of uniforms right then and there in great condition. Would definitely go here for anything in need if you don't want to spend so much. Thank y'all!! read more

Horrible customer service. My husband, three year old son and I visited the store in search of items needed for Ranger school. The owner and employees looked at us and never once greeted us or asked if they could help with anything despite seeing us with a list in hand clearly searching for items. The only reason we went here was to support a fellow service member but the cold stares and unfriendly atmosphere drove us away. We will never visit or spend our money here! Do BETTER! read more

Decent place. Just about the same stuff you can find in any other surplus store with the exemption some specialty stuff like Stryker CVC helmets made to look like opscor helmets. read more

Great place to go if you need ranger school packing list items especially if you don't mind lightly used equipment/uniforms. Karah helped me pick out the highest quality uniforms in the store and even made some minor fixes to the uniforms I purchased. Overall great service and they know the packing list well. read more

Walked in and greeted instantly. Had gone to Commando Surplus prior and purched things. Instantly saw I made the wrong choice when I see the same items at Tier 1 for considerably less. I ended up trading a couple things I had left over from CIF for the items I wanted. Left spending no money, a smile, and they game me a free pack of donuts. This is what a surplus store is supposed to be. Go here. Don't go anywhere else. Commandos, Ranger Joes, I call them crooks. You're gonna get charged new prices for used gear. At tier 1 you get what you need without spending a pay check. read more
