I contracted with this vendor to provide 100 mini wedding cakes (approximately 1.5" squares). I provided pictures with examples of different decorations for the mini cakes. What I got was approximately 20 large square cakes (approximately 5" squares). The vendor attributed the shortage to having dropped the others in transit. The product was unique, however it consisted of a hard, thick, 3/4" shell that was difficult to cut and cake inside that was not freshly made. My intention was for the guest to have one or more bite sized cakes. What I got was a monstrosity that my guests did not know how to attack. Some tried in vain to cut a piece, others were confused as to whether they should take the whole "brick". Im not one to regularly write reviews but in this case a very negative review is warranted. So I'm giving this place a 3 for 3 reasons. 1. I ordered delivery and received the wrong cupcakes. Only 3 out of 6 cupcakes I ordered were correct. 2. These cupcakes are tiny. $3.75 for a cupcake that is smaller than the cupcake tins you buy from the store (I put it in one and there was still room). 3. The flavor of the cupcakes were good. The icing was good and the cupcakes were moist. With that being said, if I were going directly into the location (to ensure I received what I actually wanted), & if the cupcakes were $1.75 per cupcake, I would most likely give them a 5. I am fresh off deployment from overseas and my sons birthday was two days away. And like most military I'm always moving at fast paces and getting hit with obstacles. My daughter purchased a llama cake for my granddaughters birthday. When we picked it up, it looked exactly like the picture we gave them to work from. When we cut into it at the birthday party, the chefs knife we tried to cut the cake with wouldn't go through cake, so the restaurant gave me a serrated longer knife; this was not looking good. Finally cut through and got the first slice out, what a disappointment!, Two layers of yellow cake and one of white, thick, thick icing, not sure what stabilizer was with the 'buttercream', not one of the kids or the parents ate it. The worst experience! Placed an customize order for 3 tier vanilla on vanilla cake 3wks prior to event. Was told by the cashier that the baker would call me later that day to further discuss the details and changes for the cake. The baker didn't call until 1 1/2week later. I missed the call and called back a few hrs later, to find out the baker is not at the shop and will return my call. Again, no call back for a couple of days. I finally got ahold of the baker via her cell phone. We discussed the changes and she said she would have the cake ready by 11:30 on 10/6 (event date). I was at Tier Couture at 11:32. Cashier told me that "they are boxing up the cake, it'll be a few minutes. 15mins went by and another cashier came to me asking for the balance. I said well I would like to see the cake first. Simultaneously I asked about the flyer they have posted which said show us your Google review, get 10% off your order. I asked can I apply this as I had the flyer in my hand. She went in the back and I guess told the baker who stuck her head out to get a visual of me and then said "oh no that's not for cakes". Not to make an argument I said ummm ok, but was thinking it doesn't specify the items available for 10% Google review discount ( I also took picture of that flyer). The cashier came back to the front where I was standing and said "it'll be a few more mins, some more things are being added". I looked at my watch and it's now 12:00pm. I advised the cashier I have another appointment and will be back. I returned at 1:30 and they present me w/ a cake that had what looked like chocolate marks on the top. I asked if the cake was chocolate as I ordered vanilla. She said no it's the fondant ganache. I was pressed for time and didn't ask what was ganache. They also have a contract that must be signed after picking up the cake to say more or less they are relieved from any wrongdoing. I'm sure something previously happened. At the cake cutting I found out that the ganache she used was dark chocolate under the fondant. My guest are allergic to chocolate, that's why I ordered vanilla! To top it all off the cake was dry and overall a complete waste. I see why they have the Google flyer at the register so people can get an instant 10% discount prior to tasting the item and Tier Couture reviews make them look like a competitor! The lack of communication, professionalism and poor quality of this cake is ridiculous! I have shared this review on many sites and talked about it to people with photos. If I could give a zero rating I sure would! Look for the photos of cake, dark chocolate ganache and the Google flyer. I will also attach my order form which shows vanilla on vanilla! UPDATE: As of today, 10/25/18 I received a call from the baker two days after posting this review. She apologize and offered a "percentage refund" back and another cake free of charge. She asked if I could come in and she can provide me cash or she can mail a money order. It arrived earlier than expected and I was thrilled. I decided to try to eat the banana pudding first. It was very, very soupy. The pudding overall was very liquidy. It tasted like a pudding cup that was blended with more milk. I wasn't sure if it was fully cooked so I threw it away. I decided to try the birthday cake cupcake next. It was flavorless. Like a sugar-free, diet cupcake. So then I tried the salted caramel cupcake which was actually more like a brick. The base of the cupcake was hard and when I finally bit into it, it was burned a bit. I called GrubHub to request a refund for my order and it took them 3 days to get back in touch with me (after I called to follow up about 3-4x after the initial call) only for them to say Tier Couture Bakery wouldn't refund me because too much time had passed by. When I called Tier Couture, I worked with Shaquana and she was not only helpful but knowledgeable about the cakes. I needed a Detroit Lions cake for a baby shower and she was on it! She started sending different cake styles and teaching me the difference of the cakes and what it is to have one tier and two tier. Every time I needed her, she was there. We ordered 2 shakes, 1 cone, and 1 cup of ice cream. 15 minutes later (really) we received 2 cups of ice cream and a few minutes later, 2 shakes. The Mayfield ice cream was delicious. The shakes were $4.89 each. The 1 scoop cup was $3.25 and the single waffle cone costs $4.75. The space is huge, but there were only a few chairs scattered around. Delicious! Best describes this bakery. Dropped in after dinner at Oyster Bay. With ten minutes before closing time they were super friendly and welcoming. They were doing a buy three get one free deal which was great because there was such a variety even at closing time. I ate the strawberry cupcake and my husband at the Caramel cupcake (its cut in two, i forgot the actual name) but they were both delicious and moist. My first order of macarons from this bakery arrived within 4 days and they were absolutely perfect. I was so excited to patronize this business & even told family and friends to check them out. On Sunday, March 7, I ordered 2 boxes of macarons, when my ordered arrived on March 11, one box of cookies was wrong and the one that was right, every cookie was crushed (no big deal, I blamed ups lol) I called and was assured the correct order would be shipped out on the following Monday, March 15th so I was anticipating getting them by the 18th. Placed an order for a custom 3D sculpted cake and they told me "yes we can make that cake for your date it would be $200." Not a problem there....an invoice was sent for me to pay without first finalizing the details, I had to reach back out to them and inquire about wording, delivery etc.... and was told "Delivery is between 10-12pm"......Day of comes, 10:00 no word.....10:30 no word.....11:00 no word. Once I decided to contact them I was THEN told "we had a mixup on the dates for this order, we have to cancel and issue you a full refund." The mixup was not on my end, it was always the same date in conversation as it was on the order form. The cake was orderd on a Thursday scheduled for delivery on Monday.
