Tier One Credit has stonewalled me for nearly a year. Google reviews are my last resort to express my frustration--they gave me no choice. In October 2023, I decided to fix my credit to buy a home. I went to Reddit's credit community, where I was referred to u/creditwizard. I hired Tier One Credit Law Firm, unaware I was relinquishing my rights to my own finances. They didn't disclose this. When I signed up, I was under the impression that they would assist me in removing negative items from my credit. I soon realized they had far broader control over my finances. u/creditwizard/Tier One Credit had a strong presence in the community, so I trusted them. I signed the contract and paid the $527 fee. Tier One Credit was involved in the reparation of my credit for most of 2024, removing some negative items--except one. In the initial consultation, Shiva Bhaskar promised any left would lead to a refund. By July 2024, they went silent for months. I wanted closure and the refund they promised. September 12, I contacted Discover Card. The representative told me Tier One had power of attorney over my account. I couldn't make changes or receive customer service without their presence. I was told to request a "drop request" from the firm. This POA also affected my notifications going forward. As a result, for the first time, I had a late payment. I called the law firm at 1:04 PM MST. I was met with an aloof woman who claimed no one was there but took a message. When I pressed for information, she instantly shut down, like guarding a secret. On September 14, I lost my Premier credit card. When I called for a replacement, I was told the same: Tier One Credit Law Firm had POA over my account. My hands were tied. The following Monday, at 2:14 PM MST, I followed up. The receptionist's evasiveness compelled me to record the call for protection. I informed her, but she continued claiming her "colleague" failed to leave the previous message. It was clear that these messages were just procedure and a performance on the law firm's behalf. I demanded answers. I. Got. Silence. It also became clear why I couldn't access my Experian credit report since April 2024. Random addresses and PO Boxes prevented Experian from verifying my identity. To this day--February 2, 2025--I still can't access it. Despite disputes and proof of my correct address, Tier One's addresses remain. They could've fixed this easily. This issue cost me my dream home. When my loan officer tried to pull my Experian report, it was locked due to the address discrepancy. I lost the house I'd searched for over two years. Tier One didn't just affect me--they affected my whole family. Their negligence will have life-lasting consequences. In October 2024, desperate to regain control, I sent a cease and desist letter via certified mail, demanding they stop actions under the power of attorney and refund me fully. Shortly after, the letter was returned. Why? They demolished their office. Shady. I also attempted to get access to our contract from DocuSign, but they had already beat me. It was wiped. After months of fighting, I regained control of my finances and revoked their fraudulent POA. It took months without their cooperation. Their assistance would've cost them nothing. Their lack of cooperation cost me time, money, and sanity. I checked u/creditwizard's profile. They're still active, still hunting for victims. It's clear this firm values profit over integrity. They take your money, then discard you. In my cease and desist letter, I outlined demands, and I've forced their hand on two. These remain: 1. Correct inaccuracies on my Experian credit report, removing their address. 2. Refund the $577 fee, along with any undisclosed charges for their failure to be transparent and the stress they caused.
