This is such a hidden gem. The Chicken Tikka is so buttery, flavorful, and creamy. Everything you imagine tikka masala to be, but many places fall short. I order their Lamb Biryani every time, but the real highlight of the dish is the Raita (yogurt looking side) that it comes with. It's really the star of the show. And do I even need to tell you how good their Garlic Naan is? Just order it. If you're looking for an Indian spot, look no further, this is the place. Not pictured are the Samosas, which are crispy and fluffy and comes with 3 sauces to top off with. My favorite is the chutney sauce, Yummmmm. And the staff?? Had several occasions to try in February and March 2019 for dinner and lunch I was amazed at a few things. So many vegan, dairy and gluten free selections for those who desire these options. Inside the pretty and comfortable dining room the service is always pleasant and accurate. Currently there are 10 Tiffins around the area with more planned for the future as they continue to franchise. One of the best things is their fabulously inexpensive lunch specials. I would urge readers to try the lunch special. Also, they post daily coupons online. Very good Indian food and worth a stop in. read more

We have been getting takeout frequently from Tiffin Wynnewood since a bit before the "pandemic" started. The food is great and there have been no disappointments at all! My feeling is that the takeout is great, I don't know if the conditions have improved for eat in, but, based on the food as taken home, it's great! read more

I came in yesterday ordered 2 samosas unfortunately the server took it as 2 orders anyways the cook was the server too, he cooked the samosas and whilst they were cooking he tried to process my payment unfortunately it was a challenge and i was informed to wait for a couple of minutes for the delivery driver to come back from a delivery to process my payment. In the meantime my order is removed from the fryer placed into a hotel pan (metal tin) and just left on the table in the kitchen. I was watching the other cook prepare the chicken skewers with gloves on and each skewer is approx 2 foot long? As he decides they are ready to go into the Tandoor I noticed one of the chicken skewers drops. He obviously thought i hadn't seen it or perhaps he thought i wouldn't mention anything??.. He then walks back to where he was preparing the chicken skewers and he picks it up and places it into the Tandoor at which point I "FLIPPED!!" I also informed them that they cannot do that!! Unfortunately there was nobody seated in the restaurant. At this point the cook decided to wipe the floor with his bare hands with some type of kitchen roll-paper and that was it. As for the floor No mop, no hot water or sanitizer in sight or in use. Gross!!! I told them to cancel my order and i walked out. 1. Clearly this company has no concept of health and safety measures in place. 2. Staff are neither trained or not accountable for their actions. 3. No gloves were worn when preparing the samosas or trying to process my payment. No hand washing process in place, nothing. 4. Multiple Food-Health & Safety Violations were apparent. I normally have my food delivered from this location, never again!!! read more

We ordered Lamb Roganjosh where the lamb was too chewy and dry, Kaju Paneer Makhni's gravy was good but Paneers were really hard, and lowest on the chart was Boneless Chicken Biriyani which is the worst biriyani I have ever had in my life. I enjoyed this place. The guy who sat us, also waited on us, he was pleasant and answered my questions. Even though I am a big foodie, I am not really one to try different things. So, I liked that he had no problem explaining things to me. They have different flavors of Naan, which was nice. They brought ours out fresh out of the oven. My uncle got that mango smoothie like drink and he said he could taste the difference in that it was made fresh/well. We had those potatoes w/ peas mashed and fried in a pastry. Tiffin is basically Americanized Indian food. I have asked for Chicken Vindaloo to be "extra spicy"; which they happily made happen. Otherwise, the food is good, especially as kids get a palate for Indian. The restaurants are minimalistic and without ambiance but fine for a quick family or friend gathering. The onion Bhaji was a hit with the kids (under seasoned for me). Samosas are always good as well. Service is as expected, entrees come out unevenly but not too far apart. read more

It's pretty good. We ordered take out through Grub Hub. Ordered all our favorites: garlic nan, aloo papri chaat, saag paneer, tandoori chicken (comes with rice). They gave us the usual sauces and the extra item of the day which was lentils and it was really good. Everything was really good, just not AS good as I think Ekta is. The saag paneer isn't as creamy. Also when I picked up my food, the guy at the counter laughed a little.. Not sure why?? I'm thinking it's because I got there 30 minutes after it was ready? Walked in wanted to try somewhere different, my fiancee and I walked in skeptical but once our noses caught a wif of the wonderful spices and flavors. We ordered two appetizers and one entree. The food was piping hot, fresh, and authentic. The three sauces at the table added complexity to everything we tasted. We will be back to try more menu items! I agree with a few of the other reviewers, the food could have been spicier... but this is a mainline restaurant and I understand they might be afraid to "let us have it" in fear of sending everyone home with a burnt mouth never to return. Hands down, the worst indian meal we have ever had-usually a family favorite. Typically, we order from Ekta or Tiffin in Bryn Mawr but chose Tiffin in Wynnewood. One entree, lamb vindaloo, was inedible. Every chunk of lamb was not only tough as leather but also filled with fat and grizzle and ended up in the trash. The paneer Tikka Masala was very watery and lacked the typical flavor. My vegetarian child has ordered this no less than 50 times and has never had a dish this runny and flavorless. I am writing a follow up to my last review indicating the mouse issue at Tiffin. The manager contacted me and assured me that there was no rodent issue at the restaurant, and that the health department had come to inspect and that most things passed and they are restructuring their management at these locations. I was offered compensation for the meal that I had to pay for that was less than enjoyable and invited to experience a meal at one of their higher end restaurants called Tashan, in Center City. It was phenomenal and the service was much better than at Tiffin, although I'm sure that will be changing soon. Here are a few expectations I have of any restaurant... 1. If you don't have a host/hostess at the door, don't make me feel stupid if I ask the person at the takeout register If I can sit down. 2. Even if it's busy, the 1st available employee should offer water or a drink ASAP.... if that employee walks by my table with a water pitcher, ignores my table and fills another table's water then that's no good. 3. If its busy, then have some waiter/waitress come by to smile and say something like "I'll be with you in a minute". Instead I sat there with my wife and son for a solid 10 minutes without a drink, without any acknowledgement from the wait staff, and without any indication or hint when we would be served. Its too bad because the food did look and smell good. We just left and went to Elevation Burger. Maybe we'll try Tiffin for takeout, or maybe we'll just avoid altogether purely on principle. So, I cannot comment on the quality of the service, though the people who took my order were polite and amiable. I am also not an expert on Indian food. Today's lunch was the fourth or fifth time that I have eaten the cuisine in my life. Fellow Yelper, Ryan G, praised Tiffin to the point where I thought it would be impossible for the restaurant to meet my expectations. As it turns out, he was dead on accurate. The Chicken Tikka Masala and Naan were both amazing. My savory lunch was delicious and filling but not too heavy. The portion was also large enough that I was able to split it with a friend and still be satisfied. I would urge you not to let the negative reviews hinder you, although opting for takeout might be a wise option. First of all, service can't be considered a strong point, as Tiffin started out as a delivery place and grew from there. I have not been disappointed at all with our recent takeout order from Tiffin. I consider myself very experienced with Indian cuisine (it runs in my genes after all), and most items were well spiced. Even the corriander chutney seemed like it was made in-house instead of from a bottle. The samosas were crisp, the meat was tender, and the curry was flavorful as it should be. There is not a better take-out Indian place in the main line. Period. I can't speak for the in-house dining experience however. read more
