The fours stars in for the ambiance and customer service. This place is so nice and trendy and the rooftop area is lovely. Also, the staff is extremely friendly and nice. Our reservations were at 5pm so it wasn't too crowded. Not sure if the bartender had an off night but the drinks were awful. They were extremely sour/tart that everyone had to ask for extra sugar/syrup to put in our drinks. Also, the menu is super limited so don't expect an entree style dinner. Definitely think this is a great place to chill and have drinks (wine perhaps). read more

Food and Views! You check in with your reservation at the elevator and are escorted up. The decor and views are amazing. My snapshots don't do the place justice!There are so many details to take in. Unfortunately patio seating was full during this Sunday sunset but there is plenty of cozy seating inside. We moved around a bit before we ended up at the bar. DRINKS: the Aries, Pisces, and Gemini were recommended and I chose an Aries. SN: whoever made the signature drink menu was not an Aries because they would know Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac and should be listed as such :P The Aries was light and refreshing in a nice sized glass, a perfect summer cocktail but for the second round I went with my usual Long Island. FOOD: the patty melt and pork belly were recommended. The menu consists of small plates, I believe a full menu is offered at the restaurant in the hotel. I had the pork belly and it was delicious but my fiancé's hanger steak was more filling, served on a salad. Very cute decor, located on the rooftop of the Memphian and great for a small group or a date. The house drinks were zodiac themed and there was a good variety. Very cute and clean bathrooms as well. Also the bartender was happy to customize the drink to my liking. 10/10 experience. read more

We had a confirmed reservation held with my credit card. While driving to the restaurant (approximately 25 minutes before the reservation) they called to advise the dining room had been fully reserved by a corporate party and that we could only stay a bit over an hour. Our party was also a corporate celebration and given the late notice we could not adjust. It ruined the celebration for the individual we were thanking and everyone left frustrated. It pains me to write this review. After eagerly awaiting a visit to Tiger and Peacock before the establishment even opened, I was terribly disappointed. I booked this reservation a month in advance to celebrate my parter's birthday. When we arrived to the hotel, we waited as visitors pleaded with the staff to grab a drink from the bar. We were admitted 15 minutes after our scheduled reservation to a mostly-empty bar that hosts informed prospective patrons downstairs was "full". Seated in the middle of the restaurant in a lounge area, with no true table, set for four, my boyfriend politely asked the waitress if we could relocate to a seat for two with a table (as we planned on ordering food and drinks). Our waitress told us, twice, that she could not accommodate our request as reservations later needed that space. We were ultimately the last ones to arrive, circa 10:45pm, so this was a needless frustrating contribution to the night. The drinks were decent. They were not outstanding but did not detract from the experience. The food was incredibly mediocre. We started with two plates--Onion and Chive Dip and the Pork Belly. The dip consisted of chive dip that seemingly came from a tub at Kroger, topped with one sliver of caramelized onion, and crushed up Ruffle potato chips. The Glazed Pork Belly was plated beautifully, but nearly frozen in the middle. I embarrassingly sent a plate back to the kitchen for the first time in my life. After five minutes, the waitress asked if we "Wanted the pork belly reheated, or a whole new one". Sheepishly, I murmured "Whatever is easiest for you". She brought back a microwaved, chewy mess of meat that was the most disappointing part of the night. While we had full intentions to buy multiple drinks and plates, we were disgusted with the quality of food and service for such an establishment that portrayed a high-end dining experience. I fully anticipated taking friends visiting Memphis in November and December, but I will not be back. read more

Tiger and Peacock is a bar with a view, fun decor, and a very small upscale pub grub menu. It is not a restaurant. It is not well run. We made reservations for 7:00. We arrived on time with all of our party present. We were not seated until 7:30 and only then because we were insistent. We were just left to sit in the hotel lobby. We took friends from out of town to enjoy the view and had planned to have dinner. We had cocktails and snacks and went elsewhere. We won't be back. read more

My husband and I wanted a convenient meal while staying at the hotel. The decor of the restaurant is fun and the food is good, but I still would not recommend nor would we come back to this spot because of how comically bad the service was. It was a Sunday night and the restaurant was not close to full but it still took 25 minutes for our first round of drinks to arrive. Throughout the entire meal we had to ask for everything we needed such as plates, silverware, napkins, more water, etc. Each time we needed something we had to flag down a staff member. We really wanted to like this place, but the entire staff was inattentive to the point we thought something was wrong. Had we known the area we were staying was surrounded by what appear to be cute/ good restaurants we would have gone to one of those. We booked three rooms at the hotel and made a reservation over a month ago to enjoy some cocktails here for our bachelorette party. We were rudely greeted by Dalton and then told we they didn't have a reservation in their system. Instead of apologizing or trying to help us, he told us it wasn't his problem and actually laughed at us as we walked away. Disappointing. Extremely limited menu, they tripped on my husband for not having a collard shirt--so you know what that means. They let in flip-flops, but he had a collard shirt. Smh. Music is ragtime and swing...ummm this is MEMPHIS. They could have at least played Bebop, Fusion, or Cool jazz. So, obviously they have decided that they don't want EVERYBODY in here. Angelo is the only positive aspect of this place. They were extremely rude and would not seat us even though there were multiple empty table. Terrible. I had reservations for a table for four , was told because I was 20 mins late WITH my credit card ALREADY on file that it was forfitted. Waited an hour to sit at the bar while " 4 tables were open." We sat at the bar for 45 mins and no one was sat at those tables. Horrible customer service . Worst birthday experience . This is the most quaint little cocktail bar. The design and furniture of the hotel downstairs mixed with the decor upstairs makes it all worth it. The staff is young and good at what they do. I got the French 75 cocktail and it was very smooth. The menu takes away a point because it just isn't appealing everything is too far out of my comfort zone. We got there and they tried to seat us at the bar despite many open couches/tables. 4 people cannot face each other and talk effectively on bar stools. When we asked the hostess if we could move to the couches she was bothered and rude acting very inconvenienced that we asked. Service was extremely slow. When a drink was ordered it would be 10/15 min. before we received it. We had 4 drinks, no food and our bill was $70 with tip. The martinis were only 2/3 full and were approx. $15 each. Very disappointed in this place as it had such great reviews. I made a reservations months in advance for 9 people. When we arrived they told us that another big party was still there and that we had to wait until they were done to be seated. We waited an HOUR downstairs to be seated. Once we got upstairs to our table nobody came to take our drink order for 10 minutes. We had to go find the server. Turns out the server wasn't even our server and that our real server would be over soon. After another 10-15 minutes waiting for our server we eventually got up to talk to the manager about waiving the $25 minimum so that we could take our business elsewhere. I had very high expectations for this bar. Me and my friend have been talking about going for WEEKS. The hostess was very nice and welcoming, but the experience went downhill from there. The bartender mouthed something under his breath upon sight of us. After we sat down it took a minute for the bartender to acknowledge us, but eventually he asked what we'd be drinking. Before we could finish ordering, he interrupted us to take our IDs and examined them under a light. After we told him the rest of our order, he made the drinks hastily. My friend and I both are full time bartenders at fine dining restaurants, and the way he made the drinks was incorrect and lazy. Shortly after, 2 more girls sat next to us who seemed around the same age. The bartender treated them VERY differently, didn't ID them at all, and was very attentive towards their needs. We felt disrespected and unwelcome (and the drinks weren't very good) so we decided to pay out. As we were signing the check, he seemed to be trying to amend the situation (or salvage his tip) by making small talk. He belittled our experience as bartenders ourselves and was in general very condescending during the short conversation. We still tipped him over 20% of the bill, to be the bigger person. He made unsolicited sexual innuendos to a female in our party that was in town for a bachelorette party! We had called and emailed the hotel for 5 o'clock reservations in the roof top! We had email confirmation but apparently from the wrong person. We showed him the email he laughed and said that person is her own boss and he approves the roof top and we weren't on the list! Again we showed him our confirmation email from the hotel but he stated he isn't part the hotel and would not honor it! A simple " I'm sorry their is a mistake would have been ok" but he laughed and said no way in hell we would get on the roof top but could wait a few hours! We told him we had travel 3-5 hours from out of town with a party of 10 We all are Staying at the town for this! But he said no! We should have stayed at another hotel with a roof top! This is one place in Memphis we will never return to. The elevator Nazi downstairs, and the manager we met behaved as if they were TSA agents at an airport and I showed up without my passport. They kept insisting it was the law in Tennessee that you produce passport or driver's license to be served in a "bar". Since my husband and I don't hang out in a lot of bars, and this place is listed as a restaurant/bar on its website, we assumed we'd be treated as we are in restaurants. I haven't been asked for an ID in a restaurant in over 50 years. Our reservation was not honored even though the other two in our party had their driver's licenses. We left and went to another nearby restaurant/bar, Tsunami where we were welcomed and treated with respect and grace. We were seated, served drinks and small plates and spent a lovely evening. I visited Tiger and Peacock Saturday afternoon and was very disappointed in everything. First, I am very short and asked to be moved to a more comfortable chair and was told that was not possible, even though there were plenty of empty tables. The drinks we received were not what we ordered. I ordered the cucumber, elderflower gimlet, but there was not hint of cucumber in the drink. My out of town guests were unable to drink their cocktails. The syrup was overpowering. I was most embarrassed when our appetizer arrived. The three of us ordered the Burrata. It came with only two pieces of toast, so I asked for an additional piece of plain white toast. I was told we could not have the toast without paying an additional fee. There is a $25 minimum for each person and they would not give us another piece of toast. We left. I was so excited about visiting the Tiger and Peacock, but I will not be going back. read more

I was very excited to go to this restaurant/bar for my birthday. Looked online and read the extensive rules and guidelines. I was happy to oblige and follow the rules. Made a reservation over the phone weeks in advance. Got to the host stand. The host didn't greet us, not even a hello, she opened with "I need to see your I'Ds. Was on FaceTime the entire time. Unprofessional from the beginning. Would of helped if she just said a common place greeting. Then we were sat. Atmosphere was fun, did not see our waitress for over 10 minutes till she took our drink orders. Only saw her 3 times while we were there waiting for over 2 hours. Had to flag her down just so we could pay. Overpriced food for lackluster result. Very expensive and "exclusive" for bad service. My friend asked the hosts and our waitress for some type of dessert to celebrate my birthday. It never came. My friend then let them know; they made us wait to get a birthday shot, that still never came. Then as we were leaving they made us wait even longer to give us 2 giant pieces of carrot cake that we were unable to carry around so I had to leave it. Not worth the money or time. read more
