Tiger Kim's is awesome! I love that we get to learn not only Taekwondo but also Tang Soo Do, Hapkido, and other self defense techniques, focusing on both body and mind. The classes are mixed ages and mixed level, so from the start you can learn both from the expert instructors and from watching the most experienced students. I love seeing entire families learning together. Their flexible schedule also works well for someone like me, a parent with a busy work schedule and life. The instructors are amazing -- most have between a 4th and 7th degree black belt and it's obvious they really know their stuff and have a deep passion for the art. Each one has a very different personality and I appreciate the wide diversity of perspectives and teaching styles. However, they're consistent in technique & form and in wanting every student to succeed. They're tough and take it seriously, but are also caring and make it fun. Tiger Kim's is a stellar training facility. My daughter wanted to go by and just observe a class. She's 6. We got there and multiple kids of all ages gathered around her and said you should do it with us. We will help you get dressed and they did help. She had a most fabulous first class and is super excited everyday to go to the studio. She has different teachers everyday and the multi-generational classes are refreshing. I went there to buy a graphite bostaff. The owner allowed me to test the bo staff out on the mat. I dropped the bo staff and it broke. I was willing to pay for the damage but the owner told me not to worry about it and he will try to get it replaced by the manufacturer. Thank you. We signed our son up for the 2 week trial. While we wont be enrolling him permanently (it's a 25 minute drive, just too far) these guys get my vote. Warning ... I had a Very Bad experience. Never ever sign a contract with Master Kim. He will tell you that you can cancel or put membership on hold but the reality is Master Kim won't let you out of the contract even with a Dr. note that I supplied ... he wouldn't accept it even though it's stated in the contract. My son wasn't committed to taking the classes and Master Kim told me to force him to go anyway. The classes are suppose to teach respect and discipline .... he should lead by example. I had to Buy out the contract/pay him off. We could have gone to court but I just wanted to move on with this BAD experience. read more

Tiger Kim led a tae kwon do class for the kids, and he had a bounce house and lots of other things for the kids to play with too. On a friend's recommendation, we recently signed our two boys (ages 7 and 4) up for taekwondo classes at Tiger Kim's - like us, she was desperate for a youth activity that would not only give her kids a physical outlet but also introduce them to a new culture that would teach them about respect and discipline. After less than two weeks, we are already seeing a difference in both of them. What's more, they love it and continually ask to go to class - something that does NOT necessarily happen with soccer or swimming or tennis or theater camp or whatever. Having no experience with martial arts myself, my biggest hesitation going in was that it would be "weird" - a hyper-serious, cult-like sport full of obsessive adults with little patience for squirrely kids. Could not have been more wrong. Tiger Kim's promotes a fun, supportive atmosphere in which everyone teaches and looks out for those less experienced.
