I've been frequenting Tijuana Flats for years, but this was my first time in this location as I was meeting up for lunch with a friend. Service was very friendly and prompt and the tables were clean. We ordered chips and queso as well as two burritos. The plate of chips and queso was absolutely massive, plenty to share between at least 4 people. We barely made a dent in it while saving room for our burritos. The staff came by multiple times to check on us and refill our drinks. Best service I've had at a T-Flats and best portion sizes too! I don't get in here often enough but I always get a good meal when I do. It's been a while but it was Taco Tuesday and I decided I wanted tacos. I pulled up the app and checked out what they had available these days. I was surprised to see carnitas as one of the options and I figured why not give it a try. A lot has changed in how things are sent to the pandemic and I can really see where they have downsized what they give you. There are a lot fewer chips with an order than there used to be but still plenty by my standards. The tacos themselves while fairly disappointing to look at actually tasted really great. When I arrived at the location to get my meal they were completely empty as it was the middle of the afternoon. I walked over where the pickup area is and nobody even realized that I was there. After a few moments I walk around the front of the counter and there was one person sitting there just playing on their phone. I had to get their attention to find out about my order which was sitting over on the counter rather than in the pickup section. I grabbed some extra hot sauce from the hot sauce bar and headed back to my car. The restaurant itself looked pretty much like it always has and everything appeared to be clean. I really enjoy the interiors of their restaurants as the decorations are always pretty amazing. Usually people that work in their restaurants are fairly attentive and friendly. We stay in the champions gate area once a year for vacations. We have tried every restaurant in this area multiple times but for some reason never tried this place until last night. Wow!! What have we been waiting for?? My family did pick up and each of us ordered a "bowl" and we all shared dos tacos. We all tried and LOVED the steak bowls, shrimp bowls and my favorite the carnitas bowls. Very tender and flavorful. I highly recommend! Tacos are also great. I'm a huge fan of the fresh Jalapeños and avocados on all our meals. They also sent us home with a huge bag of chips that we will definitely be eating on all week. This is one of the cleanest most well run "fast food " restaurants I've ever been to. The stars are given mostly for service. ( The food is mediocre Texas Mexican cuisine. I do appreciate the fact that they have beer! ) There seemed to be only 2 people running the joint, Michelle at the front and someone else in the back. The bathrooms were very clean and stocked; something you rarely see in fast food restaurants. Michelle was on the ball; taking orders, bringing out food, refilling drinks, and clearing tables!! As someone from San Diego, CA I was excited to see a restaurant named Tijuana Flats.... then I saw Tex Mex and was confused.... I am married to a Texan who states that real Tex Mex doesn't exist outside of Texas.... As a Californian I LOVE my Mexican food, not Tex Mex, but my family and I gave Tijuana Flats a shot anyways. I chose a chimichanga because I've had those at numerous taco shops and restaurants and figured it was a safe bet. Boy was I wrong! I managed to eat half and then decided this isn't worth the calories. I ordered the Chimichanga, a lightly fried tortilla, with your choice of chicken ($10), beef ($10), steak ($11), or beans ($10) with melted cheese and topped with sour cream. It had no flavor--it was boiled chicken with no sauces or salsa inside. Of course, you could go to the Hot Bar and load up on sauces, but then you're locked into a spicy meal. The kids ordered the Dos Tacos, two hard corn or soft tortillas, with your choice of chicken ($10), beef ($10), steak ($11), or beans ($10) with lettuce, tomatoes, and shredded cheese. This had a lot of grease that poured out by the end of it all and the kids liked it OK. They also got the Burrito, your choice of chicken ($10), beef ($10), steak ($11), or veggies ($9) with cilantro lime rice, refried or black beans, in a tortilla. And this one was just sad--barely any filling. Overall, I'm not sure if it was just a bad visit, with poor meal prepping, or if this is the typical experience. The staff here was extremely helpful. We had a bug group of people and they were super patient and kind. They came around to check up on us to make sure everyone was okay and if anyone needed anything they helped with a smile. They greeted every customer with a smile that walked in. So of course it seems to always be a hit or miss at this location. Last time we stopped by I believe it was after the lunch and the food was great and we got it right away. Welp today we stopped by and of course we order sit and we realize half hour had gone by and yet no food people where coming in and out and here we are still waiting. So my wife got up to ask because I was on my 1 hour lunch time. They literately just told her they would be with her in a second which was in a rude manner like they could careless. Of course they then tell her it will be out in a few minutes. They either forgot us or just didn't make it my guess they forgot us because my food was cold. I was so upset that here I am trying a new item which is $11.99 and its cold. Like WTH pay attention to your customers especially the local ones that would come back time and time again. Needless to say we will not be stopping by anytime soon. And I must say the attitude was uncalled for. The restaurant was clean, had good music and the food was good once we finally got it but the wait is ridiculous. I'd hate to see it when it is busy... We got chips and Queso but most of the chips were inedible and not cooked or super oily, just not good. The person bringing out the food screamed our name which seems really unnecessary with only one other table here and they already had their food so by order of elimination he should have been able to tell it was ours. To be perfectly fair, this review is made about a takeout order. The order was made on the website and picked up. I picked it up at or near the ready time, but am not sure how long it sat waiting for me to get it. After the drive home, the crunchy burrito and taco were a bit soggy and didn't have a lot of crunch. The flavor was good, but probably would have been enhanced by eating in the store, where I had access to all of the sauce selections. As it was, I made my selection with the order and received a small tub of the choice to use. It wasn't enough for a burrito this size. I chose grilled chicken for the burrito and in retrospect, probably would choose something with just a bit more kick, like maybe the beef or the blackened chicken. Both the Queso Crunch burrito and the Tijuana Bowl were humongous, and with a side of chips and queso, more than made up a meal for two. For a few meals. The next time I try this one, it's going to be in person. Most of the area restaurants are just starting to serve in person, so I assumed this was takeout or delivery only. My family was on vacation and ordered food delivery after long day at the pool and looked forward to good meal. We ordered flautas with chicken and cheese, almost no chicken at all in these. Two different burritos were ordered and these had the wrong meat in them. The guac was old and turning brown with no fresh flavor, no onion or tomato. Food from order was forgotten on the delivery. Only good thing was the customer service from manager when we called about missing items, money was returned for these. I have previously had good experience at this restaurant but will not likely be going back for the price after this experience. It would've been a perfectly adequate meal [especially calorically] as is. Unfortunately, I needed to Mega Juana it for $4.99 extra - double meat, double cheese. Maybe I'm determined to be fat again? I don't know. Don't @ me. Tijuana Flats has a lot of hot sauces that are pretty good but also kind of same-y. Be very careful with the hottest sauces. Terribly disappointing, especially for what I paid. I got a street corn burrito and it was the most dry, flavorless thing I've ever had. I honestly can't believe anyone would serve this to paying customers. I get that sauces are a big thing for them but I was equally unimpressed with their sauces. Eli was the absolute best customer service representative at this Tijuana Flats. We are not familiar with the area and my children were hungry and of course we have dairy allergy and meat restrictions so there are not a lot of options after 8pm. I was miles away from my family and was still able to provide a meal for my children with the help of Eli and Yelp. I was able to research the area and found this location Because of them I was able to reach out to Eli who went over the order I placed in the app over the phone and insured a satisfying evening for my children and their aunt. Tijuana Flats is usually our go to location and we order two throwback Thursdays special burrito meals. Eli read my order back to me and make sure that they were free of cheese and sour cream. If the order would've arrive with either of those toppings my children would not have eaten and their aunt would've definitely had a harder evening with two cranky kids on her hands. First of all, I've been to multiple Tijuana Flats locations and they tend to be kind of a hit or miss for me. Some are quick, some are slow. Some are fresher than others. Their flavors in general aren't that exciting. However. Champions Gate has extremely limited food options, so when I'm in the mood for a burrito and don't want to drive in an hour or I-4 traffic, this is usually where I end up. This location is extremely slow. Like, embarrassingly so. I've been here multiple times in the last few months, there's almost never a line, and yet my one person order still somehow takes upwards of 30 minutes. Not sure how or why that's happening, and I've only received an apology for it once. They also said they upsized my queso for my wait (they didn't). The burritos are decent. They're warm, and have anything you could want on a burrito on them - tomatoes, onions, beans, rice, steak. Salsa and queso are an extra charge, so I definitely don't like that. And as many times as I've tried to like the hot sauces here, they're just not that great. In my opinion, the best part about the meal is the perfectly seasoned chips. Overall, T Flats is decent in a pinch, but it's a little overpriced and there are better Mexican options around if you're willing to drive a little. read more

I have ordered curbside a couple times recently and I am impressed with their system. Ordered online, was told time to pickup, easy menu options to order, add drink, add name to each meal for easy distribution when I get home. I receive an email and text confirmation, pull up to curbside spot, text number I am here and BOOM! They come out with your order. Orders have always been correct and complete. Also, let me tell you their ICE is amazing! I order a large drink and can't wait to finish it so I can enjoy the ice! A must try if I'm the area. Staff is very friendly as well! Since opening we have made Tijuana Flatt's our weekly Thursday go-to, while we've had issues on occasion the GM and Shay (sp?) always have assisted in making it right. I felt the need to come on here and give some positive feedback, as it's well deserved. Typically the food is hot, fresh, and a great value ($5.99 burrito, chips and a drink on Thursdays). When we ordered it wasn't particularly busy...it took at least 30mins to fill an order or 3 burrito and a bowl and 1 order of wings...we had to ask where our food was when they finally decided to bring out our food...when our food came out it was literally cold to the touch...so I asked them to warm it up...they too my burrito back and literally looked like the cleaned the grill with the burrito...still cold mind you....this place was terrible...do not go here...save ur money...you're better of going to chipotle...much better food for a better price read more
