Having not been to a TiJuana Flats in literally years, but still having made the requisite comment of how much I like them every time I passed one, the decision was made and we pulled in for a late lunch. Bright colors, personalized roofing tiles, and an eclectic wall mural definitely told me I was in the right place but the assortment of sauces seemed mostly variations of one or two with only a couple interesting offerings. Super friendly people. Warm fun vibe inside. More sauces than you know what to do with (almost overwhelming really). We love their fresh food, we each had a couple of tacos and an order of guacamole. We do love some seasoned chips, but today's were super salty. We do wish they had salsa they would provide just for the tacos (not as a dippable side)...sometimes you want a dressing that's not just a hot sauce. I love Tijuana Flats! My favorite is going on Tuesdays for the "Taco Tuesdaze" Special. They have many other days of the week with specials too!! We usually get the steak tacos with jalapeños, cheese and I get mine with low fat sour cream. I get a craving for Tijuana Flats regularly, that should tell you how good it is!!! The reason I gave 4 stars is because sometimes they don't fill up the box with chips and other times they are more generous. No complaints at Tijuana Flats. I always go for their blackened chicken, and it's been great. I usually get a burrito or bowl, but on my latest visit, I tried the quesadilla. This may be my new go to. I liked the wheat tortilla and everything being pressed like a panini. Also, whatever item you get, try the hot sauce bar. I add the "Smack my ass and call me Sally" sauce on everything! Next time, I'll need to just buy a bottle to take home. It's not too spicy, so everyone should try it. If you get queso on the side, mix it in there too. Their free chips are also good. They have a flavorful seasoning that makes it hard to eat just one. Staff has also always been friendly. I came across a social media ad for Tijuana Flat's new cheeseburger tacos with seasoned fries for $7.79 I called the trinity location for a carry out order and the girl who answered the phone was helpful asking if I wanted to add any extra items to my order. I added queso to dip my fries in for $1.75. I was told 15m before my order would be ready. I showed up at Tujuana Flats 5 minutes later and saw an employee bringing my order out. Once I got home, I opened the box to view my order and wasnt exactly happy with the amount of food I received. Two medium size tacos with everything found on a cheeseburger including a ketchup, mustard, pickles etc. The fries that came with the tacos seemed to be no larger than a scoop. The tacos tasted descent and the queso was good (no meat in the queso). Overall, I got a cheap, fast meal but it wasnt the quality I'm used to from this location. read more

On a Friday night where all the restaurants in the area are slammed we were able to get in right away and received great food and good service. It's technically fast food I guess but definitely doesn't have the feel of fast food. You order the food at a counter up front and then find a seat like regular fast food. The quality of food is definitely not fast food and the brought the food to us when it was ready. They have a big selection of hot sauces and some are really hot, I'm not a pepper belly but I do eat jalapeños like cherries. They also have a decent selection of beers on draft. I ordered a steak chimichanga on wheat wrap and it was as good as any I've ever had. Great alternative if you are looking to avoid the 45 minute wait at nearby restaurants. read more

Holy moly this food was AWFUL. Not edible. I'm so grossed out. Tacos are soaking wet in liquid...I mean dripping water. Everything was delivered cold. I microwaved and everything is still disgusting. Flavor of what I tried is basic. I ordered chicken nachos and I barely saw chicken on them. The food in general had absolutely no flavor. The salsa smelled and tasted burned. Of the Tex-Mex fast food places, Tijuana Flats is one of the best. The Trinity location is no disappointment. They are quick in serving your order. The personnel are friendly and prompt in their service. We ordered the steak flautas and the chicken quesadilla. Both were very tasty as usual here. This location has a nice outdoor eating area. It is not forgotten by the staff for service like drink refills. My only small dings on this location is the it probably needs a refresh as some of the stools, chairs and tables are starting to show some wear and dirt. Tuesday means taco Tuesday when it comes to taking my daughter out to lunch in the Trinity area. I have been going to Tijuana Flats in both Trinity and Oldsmar since they opened. This past week I went to the Trinity location and noticed a big change in the operation of the restaurant. Whatever happened to them opening the door coming in and going out? Whatever happened to them sending someone around to make sure your drink isn't empty? Whatever happened to them treating you with a smile and asking if you've ever been there before? All of this being annoying but you sure do miss it when it's gone. The food was still good but the concern for my satisfaction was missing, I actually had to go find an employee to get both of our drinks refilled. I still love the place but please bring back the annoying things too, please don't turn into just another Taco Bell. read more

While visiting family we decided to try a local joint and weren't disappointed. Great vibe upon entry and helpful wait staff. You order and pay at the counter and then they ring everything to you. It's full service once you order and sit down. We chose to sit outside cuz the Florida weather is not Michigan weather. Kids got nachos and quesadilla and enjoyed them. Decent sized portions for the kids. Wife got a rice bowl with chipotle chicken and she said it was good. She couldn't finish it all, but not for lack of trying. She enjoyed it but is tiny so she couldn't fit it all. I got the flautas at the advice of the cashier, split the order between chipotle chicken and carnitas. They were great. I couldn't figure out how to put the toppings (onions, jalapeños, tomatoes and lettuce) 'on' the flautas, but once I dipped them in quest, I realized I could get the toppings to stick to the flautist and it was great. We also got the trio starter (salsa, queso & guac) cuz it was bottomless and the quest turned out to be super delicious (although it was a little runnier than I prefer). All the food came it fast and the servers were kind and even helped us try all the hottest sauces that they have available for free at the hot sauce station inside. The hottest sauce they had, in our opinion was the iguana sauce, but my 6 year old son wasn't overly impressed with the green ghost (ghost pepper) or the hotter than el (Trinidad scorpion pepper). That doesn't affect my rating tho cuz it was good fun sampling them as a family regardless of the hotness of the sauces. I told my wife I'd eat here every day of the week if we moved here. I enjoy going to many Tijuana Flats locations. This particular location at Trinity (off of SR54) fills tacos only half way with meat and different toppings. Food is good but Tacos are just not filled up. I've been to this locations many times. I thought maybe it was a one time thing but it has happened many times. The food was good. I ordered the Taco Tuesday special - no extras - chips & drink for $5.49, but the total came out to $6.94. The cashier said it was due to taxes but without itemized receipt, simply couldn't tell - just knew impossible for taxes to come out a little over a dollar. Good thing Brian, the manager, was checking on his customers and so I asked. He clarified everything, If you get salsa for the chips - it's extra, didn't know that since the cashier didn't explained that to me. ( My first Taco Tuesday). Brian was awesome to explain it and offer any extra salsa, etc. for any trouble. I don't care for Tex-Mex but this place is excellent, in my opinion, and offers gluten free tacos or burritos. Always love coming here! The food is above expectations I especially love the steak fajitas, and my daughter loves the chicken quesadillas. They never disappoint! Floors/tables are always clean and the bathrooms immaculate! Seating can be a pain sometimes but I don't mind waiting for a seat to open up. We ate lunch on Sunday 2/28/21 we walked in and a girl behind the counter didn't say hi the first thing out of her mouth was to put on a mask. Then my mom went in to get our sour cream that we didn't get and the lady at the counter ignored her and finally she said can I get some sour cream we paid for and the lady said that the other one could help her. Very rude and not very nice. Will not return to this location!!! You would think with everything opening back up that they would be thankful for us to spend our money there. Usually wouldn't write a review on a fast casual dining spot like this, but this restaurant is ran so well, I had to at least say a few things. Staff is very attentive to everyone's needs and almost anticipates what people need. Personally I refilled my small cheese dip 4 times and I was greeted with a smile every time. They also bussed the table almost immediately after a guest left. I worked in the food and beverage industry for 10 years of my life, even working at a restaurant of a 3 Michelin star chef, as well as a bravo top chef winner, and the level of detail was easily comparable, although not the same level of fine dining. My wife had the Phllly Cheesesteak Flautus and it was very good. My entry however, was very poor. I ordered the Crispy Fish Taco. There was so little fish in the taco, I could hardly find it. There couldn't have been more than an ounce or two in the taco. I ate part of my wife's sandwich and did not complain in the restaurant. We also sampled various sauces on our chips but the containers for sauce are so small, you have to pour the sauce on the chip rather than dipping the chip. Overall, it was not an experience which will bring us back. I also had purchased a $20.00 gift card through Groupon and never received the $5.00 Bonus Card. read more
