This is a great option to eat out if you are using the Van Ness metro stop! The workers were all very nice and made sure to check in on us and refill our waters. I really liked how there was also a strawberry lassi option because you don't get to see that too much. I also really enjoyed the platter that came with lamb, shrimp, chicken, and lentils! The butter chicken was pretty standard. The mango kulfi was also delicious! I love the blue flower decoration on everything. There was a good amount of seating inside and nice decor.

Great new addition to the neighborhood! It's a lovely spot with beautiful decor. Check out the bar! We had great service-- so many people checking in on us! We had samosas, a spicy mango margarita, cheese naan, garlic naan, shrimp curry and chicken tikka. All of our items were tasty! Definitely want to come back and try more!

Really enjoyed my experience for lunch. The Thali is a great bet if you want to get a variety of tastes. The Naan bread was delicious. Look forward to getting back.

We had an EXCELLENT experience here! Stopped in on a Friday for thali plates for lunch. The place is well appointed. The thali was flavorful and delicious; just the right amount for a lunch serving. Hopefully the place has staying power, because we need a good Indian spot in Van Ness!

How great to discover Tikka, just a few weeks after it opened. You know you're in for a treat as soon as you walk in - the aromas of Indian spices smell delicious. Restaurants in this location seem to turn over fairly regularly, and I hope the neighborhood and those from other neighborhoods like myself support it heartily so we can enjoy their cooking and hospitality for years to come. I went with two friends for lunch, we were all impressed. We all loved the vegetarian thali, a lunch special. There's also a meat option. One friend commented that it was similar to a meal she got at Rasika for over double the price. Everything was great - the food, the attentive service, the ambience. You can tell that everything has been done with care. I'm looking forward to going again next week.

Tikka is a new Indian/Nepalese restaurant in the Van Ness neighborhood. The service was great, and the food was the best Indian food I've had in D.C. I came for lunch and ordered the thali plate, which came with butter chicken, lamb, saag paneer, chana masala, salad, bread, rice, and a dessert (you can also get a vegetarian thali plate). In my opinion it's a generous portion for $20-$22. It's definitely enough for two meals. I also ordered a mango lassi. The mango lassi and butter chicken were some of the best ones I've ever had. I will definitely be back!

Just went here recently with a few friends and as South Asians, we thought it was delicious! The food wasn't too creamy, heavy, or modern. It had all the Indian staples and great drinks. The service was good and checked in often. The space is beautiful, well lit and decorated. I would definitely come back!

I can honestly say that of all the Indian restaurants we've tried in Bethesda and DC, Kadhai is our favorite. The restaurant is roomy and spacing between tables is never tight and more than adequate. Just writing this review, makes me glad I am going tomorrow with friends. The service is soo polite and friendly but never intrusive. Once your plate is finished it will be taken up by the waiter so you can go another round or 2 on the buffet w/ a clean plate. And if your water glass is empty, the waiter is quick to refill. I am so happy to have an Indian restaurant in Bethesda with great food, lovely ambiance and excellent waiters. Did this business ask you to write a review? Unfortunately, the last few visits haven't been great, and tonight was the worst it's ever been. I ordered the matar paneer and it was watery and almost completely flavorless, which is very unlike what I've had there before. The rice was even more disappointing -- it tasted old and was hardened into clumps, almost molded into the shape of the container instead of being individual grains. It was difficult to even break apart. The samosas were good, which was the one bright spot, but the garlic naan barely had any garlic on it. Normally their naan is amazing and very flavorful. I'm really disappointed because this used to be my go-to spot for Indian food. I'm hoping this was just a bad night, but after a few recent experiences that were also lacking in freshness and flavor, I may have to start looking for a new place.

Indian food is not my favorite cuisine but it is mostly gluten-free which so I do keep it on my rotation. This location is never full so I was not sure about it. To be safe I ordered the butter chicken. It was good, but nothing special stood out. I did eat it all and the portion seemed adequate. They seemed a little understaffed even for not having many customers. The ambiance was fine but again nothing special stood out. There are way better Indian restaurants in DC starting with Rasika. Heritage is not bad, but there is nothing that popped for me. The lamb dishes were flavorful and perfectly cooked, while the street food favorites were packed with the kind of bold flavors you'd expect from a great Indian chaat spot. Service was exceptional.
