Had a great time! Kareoke guy was awesome, bartenders......awesome, the fact that the bar is across the street from ACE Hardware......awesome. Looks small from the outside but is a pretty good-sized bar. Has pinball, video poker, a ton of other games. Has an ATM which isn't seen much these days outside a gas station or bank. The bathrooms are clean. I had a great time. The owner (Greg) actually gave me and my wife a ride home after closing since our house was on the way to his hissy after closing. Great place. Think of your own neighborhood "Cheers" bar to imagine the vibe here. Small, casual bar with pool tables, friendly bartenders, and great prices on your favorite drinks. I was here with a group watching the Astros game. There are TVs on all the walls so you can sit anywhere. Jeannette and Amber took great care of us. And, in true neighborhood bar style- Jeannette cooked up Taco soup and Cornbread and brought it in for patrons to enjoy all night! (and it was GREAT) The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5... smoking is allowed inside and it gets quite smoky. I'm just not used to smoking indoors and found it took away from the otherwise great experience. Everything else was fantastic and our group had a good time... even met the Owner (Greg)! What attracted us to the bar was driving by, we saw the garage doors were open. Nice and airy, Looked like fun. By the time we were done with our appointment, the doors were down. Which meant, all the smoke was trapped inside the building. And there was a lot of smoke. Looked like this was a "local" for a lot of biker-esque type folk. Not bad, just not real welcoming. We did receive excellent service from the bartender, so I can't knock that. If it weren't so smokey, we probably would have stayed for more than one drink. So if you're a smoker? We came for the pinball game and had a lot of fun playing High Roller Casino. The place is dog-friendly with good happy hour prices. There are clean bathrooms and have a friendly staff. Country music plays on the jukebox. read more

This place sucks, no character of its own. Just a pop up bar like all of the bars in this area. It can't be helped. Boring.

Note: One or two days ago I had the ONLY review of Tiks on Google. The new "reviews" all popped up in the last twenty four hours! It's obvious they were submitted by friends of the management or staff. They're all female, all gave five star ratings and ALL appeared one day AFTER my review! Really, who do they think they're fooling? To wit: I'm not a bar owner but I would guess that a bar that can't open it's doors on time and tells customers to come back in thirty minutes probably isn't going to last. The owner also seems to run off the few patrons he has by being rude and acting like he doesn't really enjoy what he's doing. He should talk with bar owners and staff in the immediate area like "Whatever" and "Fletcher's" over a decade in business as "The Oz bar" recently sold and renamed. Honest and scrupulous bartenders are the key to success in the bar business. For example I had trouble parking my Chevy 3500 EXTENDED one ton van in Tiks tiny parking lot. I'm also a side view mirror short and the van is full of equipment to the ceiling. As I came through the door I was instantly REFUSED service on the theory that a little trouble parking implied de facto intoxication. The bartender knew quite well that I was totally sober but she also knew that she could refuse service to anyone regardless of the truth. I simply said "screw it, I'll go a down the street" which I did and spent the afternoon there unmolested as always. She also purposely misquoted me to the owner (suggesting that I was rude and personal) as she's quite capable of that kind of subterfuge. Furthermore she suggested that they have informal "assigned" seating. Don't sit in an EMPTY chair (near your friends) close to someone you don't know. You might inconvenience that person and they'll have to move a few chairs down from you lol. Tiks did a nice job of remodeling; however likely all for not because there's so little parking there; the best they could hope to do is break even. It's a large space they've rented and there's no where to add parking to fill that space with people. Also interesting how all your so called "Google Reviews" appeared in a 24 hour period after I posted an accurate unbiased truthful review of you establishment. All female, all five star and a gross manipulation of the review system. However this doesn't matter because most folks are a tiny bit smarter than you think and many know your staff members and their reputations. As I said above there are bars in the N.W. area that would tell you why they no longer employ certain members of your "staff" and why they are always glad to see me walk through the door on any given day. But not in your "immediate area". Those bars are mostly dives and have a clique of patrons you would generally not allow in your home. That is what you inherited Greg. Pretty awesome neighborhood dive bar. The drinks are cheap and the people are friendly. A tamale man comes in with perfect timing. They have karaoke going with a mix of classic rock. I believe they are pet friendly which is a plus. read more

Holy cow what a hidden gem. This place is basically a man cave with hipster touches. Super clean and smells nice everywhere you go. It's like a small dive bar without the grit. It's like hanging out in your buddy's garage if he had a bartender, pool tables, picnic benches, darts, shuffleboard, etc. it's a beautiful night tonight and they have the garage doors open so there is a nice breeze and the indoor smoking does not overwhelm you. Cigarette machine inside as well. No draught beer but they have cold bottles and a full bar. Cute koozies, tastefully decorated, bar games, ATM, karaoke days... This place has everything you want. I forgive them for not having draught bud light for me. If I could give this place 7 stars instead of 5 I would. I am so impressed. When we came in I was greeted nicely, we exchanged names and pleasantries, someone spun the shot wheel and bought everybody here a shot. Place is not packed or dead and everybody talks to each other real friendly. I will absolutely be back, hopefully the boyfriend will bring me to karaoke night this Friday. The head bartender Angela Tiks is so friendly and sweet. Please do yourself a favor and stop by this place. You will absolutely not be disappointed. read more

They did a great job remodeling and expanding the old Jones Road Ice House. Very friendly people and a great place to watch the game. They did a benefit for single moms and kids for Christmas and raised a lot of money, toys and other donations. Good folks. read more

We were there recently with some friends and family and the staff was very friendly and accommodating and we had a great time. We enjoyed several rounds of shuffle board and tried a couple new drinks. Definately will be back! read more
