We called Eshed after seeing his many five star reviews. The granite strip at the edge of our kitchen sink had cracked and lifted. We thought the repair would be extensive and expensive. Eshed immediately came out and repaired the granite so that the crack is completely invisible. Old world craftsman skills at a reasonable cost. While he was here he and his crew re-grouted all our sinks and the bathtub... then re-sealed my kitchen granite counters. They look brand new. Excellent work. If you are looking for a simple repair or a straightforward project, Eshed may be a great option. However, if you are looking for very utmost craft, precision (ie. 1/8" grout lines), working with curved tile shapes and expect a professional partnership throughout where there is no harassment and unsolicited comments beyond the scope of the agreed upon project, then this is not the small business for you. I, too, found Eshed via his five star reviews but was completely disappointed with the way the project unfolded. The initial project quote was 15 business days. Though I had to unexpectedly travel for work and attend jury duty, I ended up being without a kitchen for 2 months. Expectations were not met. Partway through the tile project, my closet broke and a closet expert came to assess my storage needs while Eshed was at the property working on the kitchen backsplash. While showing the closet designer my dresser drawer, it tipped over due to all the drawers being opened. We called Eshed in to help us rotate the dresser back upright and I thanked him for his help. I carried on with my closet consultation. At the end of the work day, while Eshed and I were discussing progress, Eshed made a comment about seeing all of the underwear in my dresser drawers and breezed past it as if it was part of standard conversation practice. In addition to this, while wrapping up on a Friday, he has sent me photos of where he's headed for the weekend and at one point even verbally suggested that I go with him to climb rocks on the beach. These instances, though not tied to the project, demonstrate a lack of professional standard that I expect from the highest quote that came in during my research for a quality tile installation. When all the tile was installed, right when the first wall's grout was applied in the kitchen, I was shocked to realize that the spacing that we were aiming for (1/8") was not at 1/4" or greater in some areas. I asked him if he used spacers to control the spacing and he said no. I asked him why he didn't use spacers and his response was aloof, telling me it was inefficient. This is not the bar of craft of excellence once expected from a project where the tiles cost more than the labour and the labour was already the highest bid across 5 businesses. Upon project completion, the matte black door knob on my front door looked like a blender had been taken to it because of all the broken tiles he was managing while going in/out of the property to cut tile pieces. I pointed this out and he did not make any suggestions to make this right or compromise. Lastly, he had an unprofessional meltdown in front of my electrician, a fellow tradesperson after passively suggesting that the electrical outlets need attention and that I should bring the electrician back (for the 3rd time). He raised his voice, got overly dramatic and read the text message he wrote me in front of the electrician to prove a point that only worsened his credibility. On the final day of completion, instead of calling me out of my office to confirm that the project was complete, he texted me while leaving the property and told me to send a check. No final walk through of the work was discussed. It is likely Eshed will respond publicly with a rebuttal, but I hope these examples as a whole give you the context you need when considering your next tile needs. read more

Another great job completed by Eshed. The edge pavers that were installed around the planter were badly in need of resurfacing and the grout between them has seen better days. Eshed has once again shown excellent skills and diligence, which resulted in superb restoration of the planter pavers. Also, the brick strip in the driveway had a section that has buckled up, due to roots that were growing underneath the strip. The old and cracked bricks and grout were expeditiously removed, the roots underneath were also taken out, and, finally, the new bricks and grout were installed accurately. Everything looks great. A couple of years ago we had another contractor pour concrete in our backyard. The concrete cracked right away so our contractor from back then suggested they do an overlay. But the overlay chipped and our backyard looked ugly very quickly. I contacted Eshed with the idea to put tile on top of our concrete floor but, although I came up with this idea, I was not really convinced by it because I really wanted to keep the modern look of the concrete. So when Eshed stopped by the first time, he took the time to explain all the pros and the cons of the different options we had (tile, concrete restoration, concrete painting...). We finally decided to have the overlay removed and the concrete underneath repaired. That was a great idea. We were able to keep the modern look of the concrete we like very much and we now have a net concrete. Our backyard doesn't look ugly anymore, yay! Strongly recommend! I usually wait a while before writing a review. This work was done back in November 2022. In short summary, the stone on my front stairs was coming loose and I needed it to be reattached. Eshed was not only the most responsive of the people that I reached out to, he was also well priced in his estimate, and took time to explain what he was doing before starting the work. Eshed did work to the tile adjacent to a window that was grinding against it. He shaved down the tile very carefully to make the window open and close more smoothly. He did a wonderful job! You can't even tell work was done. I really appreciated his care - he removed his shoes inside the home and wore a mask the whole time while on our property. I was very appreciative of that. I had also called him because we had a large circular hole cut into our countertop for an outlet which had stopped working and always bothered me. I had been wanting to remove the outlet and patch in the hole and Eshed was the only person I spoke to willing to take on the challenge. "Where did you find this guy?!?!" I had a crack in my granite countertop that I had procrastinated repairing but finally got around to doing. I scheduled the fix with Eshed a few weeks in advance in order to get my plumber lined up (to disconnect the sink before and reconnect it after). Eshed was proactive in ensuring we were on track for scheduling the appointment and he arrived on time. Based on the pictures I had sent him, he had a suspicion of the root cause of the problem, which he fixed. After he was done, the next morning, my plumber came back to reconnect the sink, and upon seeing the high quality of the work, the plumber said, "Where did you find this guy?!?!" When one professional in the same or adjacent field is impressed with another's work, that speaks volumes! I, too, was pleased with Eshed's craftsmanship, but to hear it so enthusiastically and in an unprompted manner from my plumber was both reassuring and striking. This review is for Eshed. I purchased a brand new home with a very large national builder which was constructed during the pandemic. Many issues were prevalent due to labor shortages, supply chain issues and being significantly behind schedule and therefore, rushed production. The builder ended up moving us out of the home for a month to do various repairs. The home was still under builder warranty so although I didn't utilize tile and stone pros services, Eshed provided me with his time, and his professional and honest opinions on how the builder should or shouldn't approach the repairs related to the tile and grout. He provided invaluable information to me. I highly recommend him. Eshed repaired our cracked granite countertop. I was in "shock" when I discovered a 2' crack in our kitchen counter near the sink. I thought granite was forever, well, I was wrong. I checked Youtube and found many people trying to repair a crack as I had and worse. It turns out there are not that many repairmen doing this type of repair. I had some damaged grout, I contacted Eshed and sent some pictures of the situation. They came out and patched everything up with no issues.
