Looked up local granite counter repair on yelp. Got a call within minutes thought OMG Angis list all over again. Our granite countertops for our kitchen and outdoor kitchen area were becoming dull and weathered. The outdoor granite top was water spotted and had years of neglect as this is a newer home for us. Mister Shine guys polished and sealed our counters back to the magnificent luster expected from new counters, they look fantastic! I hired Guillermo to refinish my kitchen Calcutta Gold marble countertops. He did an amazing job getting etches, stains, etc. out of those so I hired him for my front courtyard. I have approximately 850 sq. ft of Saltillo Tile that hadn't been maintained correctly for years (past owner, not me). He sanded them all down, repaired the damaged tiles and on those, he did a custom stain to match existing tile. The end result took him three days and he applied four coats of low-lustre sealer. My Saltillo tile porch and entry were totally faded. I called Guillermo who at the time was working on a project in the Los Feliz area which is quite a distance away. Since my calendar was full due to numerous medical appointments he agreed to come by that same evening. He promptly showed up and gave me an estimate which was very reasonable. It was 1/2 of other estimates. However the other contractors wished to make two trips and apply two coats of sealant. I and Guillermo felt such was unnecessary. He arranged to have the job done 5 days after I agreed to such. Guillermo showed up on time with his assistant and teenage son. He stripped the tiles, coated them and then sealed them according to my preference. He was done within 3 hours. The tiles look like new and the cost was very reasonable. As you can see from my history, I don't often review unless I'm really mad or really happy- this is the latter as Guillermo did a great job on our Saltillo tile floors. As they were original with the house and quite worn, they needed some serious TLC. After a competitive quote, we agreed to have him begin work a few days later whereupon he said he'd be at our place at 0830 to begin. Sure enough, at exactly 0830, Guillermo arrived ready to go. This was the same for each subsequent day. After three days, our floors look fantastic and we could not be happier. Note: Due to the condition of some of the tiles, they needed to paint those such that the damage was concealed; however, I was concerned that the painted tiles would not match the natural ones. Concern definitely not necessary as he blended them in with the surrounding tiles and everything looks great. Super nice guy, prompt and did a great job. Definitely recommend! read more
