The ladies running the countertops and painting departments were really nice and got me scheduled for paint and countertops. I ended up hiring a painter before our painting appointment came. Countertop person came over to measure and he informed me that there would be a fee of $150 to get a quote. It was an automatic turn off. No other companies do this. It should have been mentioned before we even booked the appointment. He gave me a ballpark number that was at least 7k to 10k over the company I intend to use. Appointment was a waste of time. Don't recommend you fall for the same thing I did. Look elsewhere

I found this hidden place by the kind referral by the Arroyo Grande granite place. What sets it apart is the Customer Service & wide choices of remnants... if you happen to find a piece that suits your little project they are a bargain. They also do fabrication & have a little cute shop where you can plan the big projects. They are far more friendly than the Nipomo granite place, but have fewer choices... but better prices. Veronica L. was friendly, helpful, & knowledgable...even though I just picked-up just a small perfect piece of granite for very little bucks. It just happened to be 1 foot wide & about 16 inches deep which fit perfectly width wise. The front side was already polished & the back jagged side is now hidden by kitchenware. It just fit a gap in my weird assortment of remnants that cover much of the crappy old white tile with aging grout in my kitchen. My wife was very pleased with the color of the granite which just so happened to be complimentary to the next piece. Since I also just found a fabulous local Santa Maria fabricator who can either join up my random assortment into something joined/ epoxied that looks better. He also has the same idea as me as to possible breakup the random pieces & make a mosaic type of counter filed with dark grout that would be really cool looking & quite cheap. He said he did a similar thing with his bathroom wall. Definitely worth a stop, while you explore the area...like Dunes Park & getting a snack at King Falafel, while you explore the small former Japanese town of Guadalupe on wonder Hwy 1.

They gave us two prices one for $3,400 and the other for $5,700 which is for two different types of quarts. I have been in contact with them from the day they left our condo almost everyday with questions and concerns. Sometimes they responded right away and sometimes it took days. It seems as they did not want our business right after I said our building need certificate. They came back days after and said if they have to provide insurance it'll be $2,000 more on top of the cheapest quarts which is insane. In short from Dec 4th till Jan 4th in 30 days the price went up from $4,300 to $5,700 I said why did the price go up in less then 30 days? They said sorry their whole sale cost went up I said you gave me a price less than 30 days ago. They under priced and could not get out of this and they lied and scammed trying to get out of the deal. Don't trust these people. Oh and they also lied and said the lowest price they provided on Dec 4th was $4,700 which is not true. GO SOMEPLACE ELSE!

The problem doing this is that you must purchase a large slab, find someone to cut, finish, transport and install it. I saw The Top Shop's ad in the Lompoc Record and I went by to see if they had any remnants as I didn't need a very large piece. Greg was very accommodating and tolerant of my indecisiveness. He showed me what remnants he had that would meet my needs. Since I was having the fireplace retiled, I decided to use the same countertop material for the hearth too. He also knew someone who could do my tile work and they coordinated the project together. Greg and George do beautiful, precision work. I am so pleased with the outcome. The old hearth was terrible with chipped tile that had been painted and it wasn't level. Now I have a beautiful, sleek, level hearth with a matching countertop. The tile guy they recommended did a fabulous job. I highly recommend The Top Shop!
