This is your classic circa 1970's sporting shop. Huge inside but still cluttered. They have a lot of inventory although finding what you are looking for could be a challenge. Like most sporting stores, they were out of a lot of commonly needed commodities like ammunition. We walked out empty handed. The staff is friendly enough and there were a goodly amount of employees so that if you needed help it wasn't difficult to flag someone down. Our interest is guns but they also carry a lot of fishing/crabbing related equipment so if that's your thing they likely have what you're looking for. There are very few sporting stores out this way so this place is probably about the best you are going to find within a few hours driving distance radius. read more

I live in Tillamook, and this place is about the only show in town other than Fred Meyer's. You might think a store filled with so much shit that they would have what you're looking for, but that is not the case recently i went in looking for some rain bibs . I wear a large, as probably do most other men after searching through every pair of bibs, they had I did not find one pair of large . Although I did find about 30 pair of triple X, large 10 or so pair of double X large two pair of medium and 10 or so pair of small and extra small. my search took me at least 30 minutes and not one person came and asked me if I needed any help The section of the rain gear was in disarray and very un organized. Needless to say, I left the store very disappointed, and on my way out the two sales people were still sitting on their ass doing nothing as I left, I told them if I owned the store, I would fire both of them ! As I was getting in my truck, one of them, came out the door and up to me and proceeded to tell me that I am not welcome in the store any longer and that every time I come in I'm just a big pain in the ass! I certainly hope the owner reads this, but regrettably as you can see from other post like mine he never responds I guess he's not in the business to make money or make a respectable name for himself nice job, Mr. Ben Hathaway! read more

While the staff were helpful and mostly friendly, if you're buying much at all it's worth the effort to go east to Hillsboro or even south to Lincoln City: the prices are high, and even when they're "at cost" they're still higher than any place I've ever been! They love to tack on extra charges for anything firearms-related, milking every penny they can from you. Especially if you're ordering a gun online, DO NOT use these guys as the receiving FFL -- they will stall you and not try to help when the state police dither on approving releasing your property to you! read more

This is a great place for camping, hunting, and puppy socializing. : ) The staff loved my 4 mo old Schipperke puppy Bob smell all the animal heads on the walls and they even opened two of the animal urine packages so he could smell them (so he knows what a coyote smells like, a cougar, ect). They have stuff I would not know what to do with, and plenty of stuff I would: Target practice stuff, warm clothes, gloves, bait, firewood, camping stuff, fake antlers (not sure why fake, but trust they have a reason), and even a target practice cut out of a middle eastern person. Fishing stuff, gun stuff, rain gear (since it rains, what, 90 inches of rain there a year). The list goes on and on. Nice people! Easy to get to off Main St, plenty of parking. read more

Cashier was very rude. Bought bullets and realized after I paid that the cashier charged me 54.99 when the box says 42.99. I told the cashier that he over charged me. He told me no ma'am I didn't, the box must have been marked wrong. I told him the price was tagged on both ends of the box. He said too bad, I can't help you. He then walked away. In preparation for the tri-(-ish)annual football game amongst my brothers (two oldest vs. two youngest), I went looking for a new mouthguard (got to protect the ivories, you know). I was not hopeful of finding one in the sprawling metropolis that is Tillamook, but called TSG to see how late they were open and if they carried mouthguards. "7pm," and "yes," were the responses. So after work I stopped in on my way home. I've been aware of TSG since our arrival nearly 2 1/2 years ago, but never stopped in 'til last night. Wow. The place is freaking huge. It has a TON of stuff. Everything from camping gear, free weights, team sports gear, guns, ammo, fishing gear, crabbing gear, every type of fishing you can imagine, kayaks, metal detectors, etc., etc. I had no idea. After wandering around for a while (mostly in awe), I found the mouthgear--they had two types. I stopped by the gun section to fantasize a little bit and then was out the door and on my way, only $0.99 poorer for the ordeal. Very impressive selection. If you ever happen to be in TillCo and are in need of nearly any type of sporting good, odds are you can find it here. read more

As an beginner with archery, I took my bow (purchased elsewhere) into this shop to buy arrows. The gentleman noticed something wrong with the bow that was covered under the warranty. He removed my sights and my arrow rest in order to ship it back to the manufacturer. When the bow returned to the store, the arrow rest and sights were nowhere to be found. I was asked for a receipt which I was never given. I was also sold arrows that were too light for my bows draw. $80 in bow parts and $60 in arrows. Make sure you know exactly what you need if you shop here. If you need professional advice, go somewhere else. Notice all the good reviews are from folks that live out of town! Do yourself a favor and ask some locals what they think of this shop. read more

We stopped for some boots or shoes, while the selection was not large a very helpful salesman found us the right size and color on the ones on sale. When they found out that we were three generations of veterans as my nephew is joining next week, we were given a generous discount. Very unhappy to learn that they only exchange or do a in store credit if you want to return an item that was only two days old and package never opened. Wish I was told at checkout prior to purchase. Not hard to have staff state this fact. We were from out of town so a in store credit was useless. read more

If your Camping, fishing, hunting, or just snooping around. This place has what you might need! Everything from hand guns to lift weights. Just one giant "warehouse" of sporting goods. They have a very good selection of fishing gear and well priced. I was sad to see that they were definitely over priced on guns and ammo. It's been a long time since I was there last. Prices are keystoned, place is cluttery, there is too much stuff for the size of store. That being said, there is a lot to choose from if you're willing to pay premium prices for it. The place makes me feel claustrophobic and sometimes I'll go down an aisle just to find it's a dead end. Sometimes they have friendly staff but if the owner is in be prepared to be constantly harassed by employees. (Asking if I need help finding anything is great... Once or twice). read more

I am an avid angler. I have entered into Crabbing. I was out today and met with fellow crab anglers. they said that they went into this store to get bait for the crab ring. I was floored that. Tillamook Sporting Goods sold them mink. I have never heard of attracting a crab with a mink. The owner of the hotel we are staying at said the only reason one would need a small piece of mink in the bait box when you are out in open ocean to keep the sea lions and harbor seals from taking your bait. The sales associate did not reveal this tidbit of knowledge. The fellow anglers bought 3 mink and all they would really need is one if they were crabbing in open ocean. Tillamook Sporting Goods should have a conscience about their customers and not take advantage. read more

This rating should be zero stars but that is not an option. This store is the only game in town and they know it. Their prices on many items exceed MSRP. Their return policy is non existent they only allow you to return an unused item for in-store credit. The staff is overly helpful when you are looking to make a purchase and extremely rude when you are attempting to return an item. My only hope is that Bimart or Sportsman's Warehouse come to Tillamook and put this place out of business. read more

My Story: On a rainy Black Friday evening, I urgently needed a pair of inexpensive sleeping bags, so instead of going to Fred Meyer (which was right across the highway), I visited Tillamook Sporting Goods first. I was truly delighted to find friendly and competent service, and a choice of good merchandise at a competitive price! The clerk took time to help me evaluate bags for best value, taking several out of their wrappings for a quick feel, and advising me as a learned friend or neighbor might do. Besides two bags, I also bought camping pillows, and a pair of cozy fleece jackets, in camouflage color. Their stock includes camping, boating, hunting, fishing, clamming, and RV supplies. The clerk also offered me a 10% Veterans' discount, which really sweetened the experience for me. I have no hesitation in recommending Tillamook Sporting Goods.
